I hope the Evo has unlockable wireless-n as well. That would be awesome. The 30fps thing has to be addressed too. PEACE.Zozz said:
It does. Supposedly.Pimpwerx said:I hope the Evo has unlockable wireless-n as well. That would be awesome. The 30fps thing has to be addressed too. PEACE.
If you mean the N1, I'd get something newer. If you're talking about the Evo, I wouldn't worry about it feeling old a year or two from now. The screen size sets it apart. PEACE.tigerin said:Do u think it too late to get it? I dont wanna buy it now and fond out they will come out Nexus two. And yea, mytouch slide seem kool. I'm not loking for a powerful phone. Just fast web browsing and survive the two years.
Hopefully the N1 gets it's Wireless N and FM transmitter enabled!Zozz said:

I know I meant to type transmitter. But I'm not sure which one it is in reality. From Google exploration and searches, I think it is transmitter. But no way to know for sure since it isn't officially listed by Google.Pimpwerx said:Do you mean transmitter or receiver? Also, to the person wondering about the i5700, it's a good phone.. It has DivX/Xvid capability so it's a pretty good multimedia workhorse.
It's also got two processors: 800Mhz handling the bulk of the OS duties, and 225Mhz taking care of the RF/send/receive functions.
I found it to be zippier than the more expensive Sony Ericsson X10.
A decent phone to get started with Android. It will also probably receive a 2.1 upgrade in the coming months.
tigerin said:U serious? I heard there were 3g issues, multitouch issues, and seem lije too much of a hassle to contact google. Dont get me wrong, i do have my eyes on it. But is it worth the 529 dollars?
Basically a performance upgrade like the 3GS was to the 3G. And yeah, someone should tell him about white balance.Gabyskra said:Rather pointless update to the Droid...

Fatalah said:Yeah, the day Verizon threw its weight behind Android was a huge win indeed.
Andrex said:I knew it was a big day (one that marked the change of the old, "let's take Wi-Fi out because we can" Verizon and the new, "Android/Google rules, yo" one), but Verizon still keeps surprising me. The impact of the largest US wireless telecom throwing its full weight behind Android really cannot be understated.

Thanks. I'll flash this later and let y'all know. I'm having trouble getting the damn 2.2 ROM to flash properly. PEACE.Stat Flow said:-Droid 2...it's okay. Unless you absolutely needed a keyboard, why not just get the DroidX? Guess that's the point.
-Droid X is awesome minus that huge fucking bezel...ugly.
-Droid X teaser is fucking sick. Verizon just owns with those commercials, I wish the Evo would have gotten a commercial like that.
-I saw that someone on XDA got Wireless N activated on the Evo (Here. So if that 2.2 update about the Incredible is true, that means it'll hopefully be headed to the Evo soon as well.

PS - What's your tag mean?
jonnybryce said:That Droid commercial is pretty crazy. Android definitely owes a lot to Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T haven't done anything to let consumers know what Android is or make it seem cool.
The screen size is the same as the Evo 4.3" Engadget was wrong when they said 4.4.jonnybryce said:Trade offs. Better processor. No 4G. Bigger screen (wowza). No front camera.
But powerwise...yes, yes it will be.
Andrex said:I'd love to get a Droid Incredible or Nexus One, however right now I am receiving a free ODROID-S in the mail. Should be here in the next 2-3 weeks.
My tag means... hrm, it's in Ancient Greek, if you can get someone to translate for you.![]()

That developer phone you're getting sure is...interesting looking!
Andrex said:It actually isn't a phone. It's more of a gaming handheld.
However, someone was able to get it working as a phone.![]()

But those god-awful commercials for the myTouch! I can't forgive those.Andrex said:I give T-Mo a lot of credit, they jumped on Android when nobody else wanted to touch it with a 12-foot pole. They were also the first (and only, officially) to get Google's own phone, too.

Is the Incredible rooted yet? If so, I could put Froyo on myself then right?
The Incredible has been rooted, but the process isn't an exact science yet and requires some luck. Also, you can't flash custom ROMs yet, but the ability to do that should be coming in the next few days.prodystopian said:Is the Incredible rooted yet? If so, I could put Froyo on myself then right?
It doesn't buffer all map data to storage, but it will at least keep route info buffered if you lose data connection. So, assuming the route is good, you can still follow it while offline. Why would you do that? said:Also, for Google's GPS app, do you need to be connected to the Internet the whole time you use it? Ir does it save map data and stuff to the phone?
Why would you do that? said:Does anyone know anything about, or even care about the Motorola i1? It came out on the 20th, and it's hard to find anything at all about it.
I'm thinking about getting it. My current phone is a piece of junk that can't do anything, and I've been wanting an Android device for a while, but I don't know if I want to drop the $350 on it. Last I read, it only used Android 1.1, but that was an early build of the phone or something.

Hmm... I haven't really been following Android OS too much, so sorry if this question's been repeated a lot, but any big features missing in 1.5 compared to 2.0? Upon searching, I see it supports multi-touch and virtual keys, but I can't find anything else on it...hermit7 said:One major issue is is has Android 1.5 If that is not an issue to you then go for it, but if you want newer features that may hamper your experience.

I'd assume that the vast majority of applications support 1.5 anyway because of the high percentage of users still on it...
Ah, I knew I should have checked that thread first! Thanks.Andrex said:Android Software Thread covers 1.5, 2.1, and everything in between. Sorry about the Photobucket things, just know that 2.1/2.2 look a lot nicer than 1.5. Even 1.6 looks nicer.
