I thought the Olympus was going to be larger than a phone, like a mini tablet, and the Terminator phones would be smaller and similar to the Galaxy series, 3.7-4 inches with Tegra 2 and Gingerbread.
Olympus is supposed to be around 4"-4.1", not a tablet. It is also supposed to be one of the first phones with Gingerbread baked into Motoblur lite.

Fake edit/edit: Android Smartphone Thread '11 is coming later this afternoon. :D

Best currently available Android phone on T-Mobile? I'm gonna be upgrading soon and want a smartphone, currently deciding between the HD7 Windows Phone and one of the Android phones. The only thing I'm wondering is if there's a traditional Facebook app for Android and if you can use the web browser on 3G.

Edit: Another option is to drop T-Mobile all together and go for Virgin Mobile, but the only Android phone they have is the Samsung Intercept. Any opinions on it? I can still make some crazy customization to the UI right?

Hi,

I'm in the market for picking up a new Android phone when I had to PAX East later this week. I am coming from Canada, but I don't think I have an issue with which carrier I have to limit myself too (as long as the phone takes a SIM card).

This will be my first Android phone, so, I would appreciate any suggestions. It looks like either way I would be spending around $500+tax, so, fire away with regards to what phone =D

I was confused at first LOL.

But yeah your budget gives you a nice range to work with. Nexus S, Tmobile G2/ Mytouch 4G, maybe the atrix ..

My friend is offering her G1 for 30 dollars. Is it even worth it at this point or should I just get a Black Berry Bold for an extra 10?

Not to nit-pick, but there is a 2011 Android thread, it's almost always on the first or second page.

In fact, it's here.

.

But to answer your question, a G1 as a main phone is .. not advisable.

I'd buy it just to play with different ROMs and the like, though. But a daily driver? No way.

So I'm absolutely dying for a smartphone. I'm on VZW, and Amazon is offering the Droid X for free (well, a penny) with a 2-year contract.

Would I be dumb to pull the trigger on it now when there's a whole bunch of new phones coming out? Keep in mind that I don't really want to pay over $200 for a phone, and that the 4G coverage in my area is crap to non-existent.

What should I do, GAF? I'm going to NYC for a week in early May and would love to have a smartphone by then....

Edit: Shiiiit. I didn't notice there was a new thread.
