anyone know a good solution for a .mac/.me email address?

i'm getting an evo, it will arrive sometime by or before friday. can you set it up with the default android mail program, or do i need an app. if an app, is there a good one anyone can recommend.

I've yet to read a review that said it was anything but.

It's an awesome phone and there is a reason it is sold out at the moment. I can't put the thing down.

Should work fine with the stock email app as long as . Me supports imap.
 
is launcher pro 1.5 compliant? i'm on the moto cliq and it looks like our 2.1 update has been delayed again since it was supposed to be released around this time i think.

You can just check the market. If it doesn't show up, it probably isn't.

Oh wow, somehow, I've forgotten where the launcher pro settings are. Where are they again? I want to change the number of home screens.

I think you might need the SuperUser Permissions app on there if you haven't got it visible... that's what manages SU permissions for me. Its SU permissions that ShootMe needs really.

I'm on ChocolateEclair 1.1 (an Android 2.1 ROM) and it works fine for me
 
Personally, I think the handcent widget could stand to shrink a few lines. I wish it fit in a single icon row.

LauncherPro Plus:
Have top admit I'm really liking the People widget. I wish I could choose my icons for the action pop-up as easily as the dock icons, but maybe that's coming.

I'm also having a weird bug with LP+ where it seems to lose its status as the default launcher fairly regularly. I'll push home and get the pop-up asking me to choose between it and sense. Even after selecting that to be default it will happen again randomly at some point. I started a thread in the bug reporting forum so we'll see.

I haven't noticed anything what you described.. But I'm using home switcher where I have assigned it as a default launcher.. Are you using it?

I never had to use Home Switcher before, so no I'm not using it. I'll try a restart of the phone first and if that doesn't help I'll try Home Switcher.

I just noticed WidgetLocker lockscreen allows you to have 5 rows and 4 columns if you remove any style of unlock (I personally use a pattern for security, it comes up after tapping "back" or an app on WidgetLocker).

Now using a 4x4 with MixZing and a 4x1 with Pandora, all my music controls right there, sweet...

I noticed MixZing FINALLY does something I've been waiting for from basically any Android music software, it now does Genre>Artist>Album sorting. If they ever add gapless playback it's perfect.

This isn't a hardware thread, but I should point out that a lot of people don't like motoblur, physical buttons, or the massive size of the X.

The Incredible and X are both great phones, but I prefer my Incredible after spending a good amount of time with both.

What's different about the widget? When I add the widget to my homescreen it looks exactly like the shortcut to the program I had before...

make sure u pic medium which shows a word bubble on the side. the icon is Handcent small (icon)
 
This has probably already been mentioned, but I'll give it another shout out:

Red Poker Club - online Texas Hold 'em game. It'll kill your battery, but it's a ton of fun!

I am kinda of in a bind. My wife lost her phone and I can not remember what was her gmail account name is. I tried recovering from our other emails but all say there is no account.. except for my account of course. She bought a few apps but it doesn't mention the gmail account on the credit card statement.

I have looked and can not find anyway to talk with a employee about the purchases. This is kind of scary if there is ever a problem with my apps in the future.

Anyone have a suggestion on how to find out the user name on the account...

Would be nice to use but all of my friends have iPhones or dumb phones.
 
I ordered an HTC Desire which should be here tomorrow or the day after. It's good to finally (almost) have a phone again :D

I know I could and should google this info, but what are some good apps to recognize music being played using the phone's microphone and what's a worthwhile music player app?
And so I wouldn't have to ask people for app recommendations all the time, what are the worthwhile blogs to check?

is there a app or something that will tell me how much battery a live wallpaper uses? I really like the jellyfish tank live paper but wanna know how much battery its using...


edit: I have juice plotter installed but its not very useful
 
does anyone know why my twitter widget (official app) never updates, the facebook apps decides to sync randomly (not at whatever times i set it for) and some apps dont sync at all?
 
Lately I've been trying to get into Foursquare. Some friends recommend it, it seems to be gearing up to be the next trend (it's current "underground" state reminds me of Twitter before it rocketed into stardom) and for my work it looks good to have a presence and understanding of as many social networks as possible (I really need to make a Tumblr).

Anyway, my interest in Foursquare (which sucks, imo) lead me to Gylmpse (Click for AppBrain).

It's a beautiful app that allows you to share your location with anyone, anywhere. No account to sign up for. Share it through email, text, Twitter, Facebook, whatever. Set expiration times. Attach a message. They don't need the app to see the Glympse. It's completely hassle free. It's super simple and really fast. I like it a lot. Just thought I'd pass it along, I've used it for fun and function so far with success.

For whatever reason, the Twitter and FB widgets operate a bit different. Even with auto-updating off, the FB widget will still update and display new statuses throughout the day. With auto-update off on Twitter, the widget won't update ever, you have to have an interval picked for the widget to update.

I don't know about your other issues, everything I have that syncs from FeedR to Kindle does it as it should.

I hate Motoblur but no one is forcing you to use it - I'm certainly not. :)

As I said the Incredible is a good phone but he was pointing out he heard the X wasn't and I just haven't seen many if any sources or reviews that say otherwise.

That is really weird - I was wondering if something like this existed last night. Unfortunately, I need it for an iPhone :(

There's tons of cool stuff like this you can do with Android.

You trade in a bit of the polish for a lot more power and function, and Verizon is a great network. It's worth a shot.

I have this issue as well. If you do all contacts the widget works fine. If you do family or VIP it doesn't work. I'm guessing he'll fix that in his next update.
 
My Hero is now officially running FroYo :]

This is awesome. VillainRom are doing an excellent job. I got the HTC keyboard, fancy widgets, and other stuff and it's slowly becoming perfect.

Launcher Pro Plus update:

I have installed Home Switcher and it doesn't help with my Launcher Pro Plus losing its default status problem. I have, however, figured out when exactly it happens.

It seems if I hold the Home button down to bring up the pop-up showing the six active apps it resets my launcher preference, forcing me to select it again. It does this even if I back out of the pop-up and don't go into an app from it, but later leave the home screen and want to return. In other words, just holding home to bring up the app listing resets my laucher default.

Is this an OS-settable behavior I'm forgetting about, or perhaps an option in LP+ I can't find? I tend to use that pop-up fairly frequently, so it's getting annoying.

At least one other person in the LauncherPro forums is experiencing the same bug on the EVO.
 
Just got the Froyo update (Spain), I have to reinstall Swype right?

Can I add more icons to the launcher besides the phone and navigator?
 
Didn't someone who developed Cubes post here? New icon is a nice improvement!
What other improvements are planned? And is it open source at all?

I tried the Cyanogen Alpha 0 version of Froyo for Hero, but it was a bit of an assy work in progress experience compared to more stable 2.1 roms. How is the new VillainRom? What features of Froyo make it worth the update?

EDIT:

Actually - assuming its this ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=729076 - I've answered that last question myself.

I quite like using the HTC browser in the ChocolateEclair release for flash sites, so I think I'll stick with this until the Froyo ROMs improve to the point that flash is enabled. Are the speed improvements good though?
