Just uninstalled Seesmic, so take that for what it's worth.
2.1 stock news app and widget, newsy for video (1cast is cool too)joesmokey said:What's the best news app people are using? Particularly one with an awesome widget.
I've tried Express News but I don't really like the way the feeds are displayed in the widget (too small). I wish HTC had a built in one for the Incredible like they do with Friend Stream.
I just checked to make sure. But when clicking on a YouTube link it asks if I want to play the video or download it. It plays the video in the YouTube app. I have not really tested the download feature yet.Gabyskra said:I love xScope, but is it just me or does it simply not work with Youtube? The way I remember the stock browser working is that it would switch to the youtube app when given a link... I feel like it's a very important feature, so what can we do?

I feel as though Android is on the verge of exploding- it's already exploding as I type this. (Look up a recent mobile web traffic report)Pandoracell said:My contract just expired with Sprint, so now i'm basically down to deciding on the Palm Pre or an Android phone. I pretty much like WebOS enough that i'll take the pre over an android phone, UNLESS game support and homebrew are vastly superior on android. Is this the case? They have some great homebrew for the pre, plus it seems like there are some good iphone game ports. How's the situation with android?

Android just crossed 50,000.
Not saying anything about quality, but it's clear where the developer support is going.
SolidSquirrel said:New to Android here, I'm shocked to find that everything Facebook-related sucks ass. Why couldn't they just clone the iPhone app?
The twitter app is beautiful, but I don't use twitter..

jonnybryce said:Facebook didn't like Android in the beginning. There were leaks of them calling Android a joke. They're close with Apple and buddies with Palm, so they have better stuff, for example webOS has or is getting support for FB Video, and I don't believe that's even on iPhone yet. As Android got more popular, FB has been fixing up the app, but they're building on top of the crappy app foundation when they really should just start new.
It's honestly more good than bad, but having used the iPhone app, it annoys me. I switch between the FB app and the Touch website depending on my mood. Idk, it's whatever. The Facebook picture and status syncing within the OS is pretty awesome, though. So's the ability to hop to someone's profile when you're texting them with two touches. There's good and bad.
Pandoracell said:Yeah, official, plus there is a ton of homebrew. I honestly haven't had a whole lot of time to mess with Android, and I don't know that i'll be able to shell out for the EVO if it's more than $200 on contract, so is the Hero alright, hardware wise?
Andrex said:It's alright but not great.

This! Xscope is incredible and deserves a shot by anyone in this thread.SimleuqiR said:OK...I bought xscope. When I originally bought my Nexus I remember using this browser but it didn't impress me...but now? I was blown away by how it handles tabs and how fast it is.
Thanks for the heads up on this browser.
Fennec is way to early in development for me to use on a daily basis.
Just tried this and have to give a big thumbs down to the way the gamepad is implemented for movement. That SHOULD NOT be a playable area of the screen and it seems like the sensitivity is cranked too high.zedge said:http://www.droiddog.com/android-blog/2010/05/looking-for-an-addictive-game-try-antigen/
Looks interesting, trying the free one.
*edit
Just played the whole first level.. may buy full one. Very good game, very polished. Probably one of the best games I have played on Android. Good games like this are few and far between sadly on Android.
Double-click anywhere on the spoiler and all will be revealed, my son.Quadrophenic said:Has anyone had problems using the Gaf Webapp and XScope? Sometimes clicking on spoilers to reveal them doesnt work...
SNES emulator: some of those apps make you pay to get a premium version that lets you save. Dunno about that particular one.prodystopian said:Questions about two different apps. Both of these problems came after my phone randomly restarted (no other problems that I have noticed):
Scoreboard: I can still see all of my favorites, but the only way to get them to come up on the widget is to go into each league and have the app see them. I'd prefer not to do that if there is an easy way to sync the program.
SNESoid: I have the free version and played a bit of Super Metroid. It kept a save file of exactly where I was a couple of minuted into the game, but now it is gone. Anyone have any experience with this (Note: not a save state from the app, but a save within the game)? I am considering playing a longer RPG and don't want to lose a save.
Also, does anyone know of a way to look through the file system?

File browsing: download Astro File Manager. It's great.
As I recall, GameBoid is the only emulator by that guy that lets you keep normal game saves for the free version (dunno if that has changed or not). You need to buy the premium versions of the other ones to save.prodystopian said:Questions about two different apps. Search Mint. You know what to do.
Task manager, file browser and you can open files directly from the Downloads tab. Otherwise, you have to go into a file browser app and open it from /sdcard/xScope/downloads. Honestly, the dev deserves the money, but he should sweeten the paid version if he wants to get paid. It's not that tempting to me.Hawkian said:Jeez, xscope is incredible now. Love how it looks like chrome in tabbed mode, and I was converted by the "swipe for notification bar" feature.
What does the paid version get you?
