About my scoreboard problem: Everything is fine after another restart. I think the crash happened while using the scoreboard app, so it may have just been a temporary problem. Good to know my favorites are stored in case of a problem.

Questions about two different apps. Both of these problems came after my phone randomly restarted (no other problems that I have noticed):

Scoreboard: I can still see all of my favorites, but the only way to get them to come up on the widget is to go into each league and have the app see them. I'd prefer not to do that if there is an easy way to sync the program.

SNESoid: I have the free version and played a bit of Super Metroid. It kept a save file of exactly where I was a couple of minuted into the game, but now it is gone. Anyone have any experience with this (Note: not a save state from the app, but a save within the game)? I am considering playing a longer RPG and don't want to lose a save.

As I recall, GameBoid is the only emulator by that guy that lets you keep normal game saves for the free version (dunno if that has changed or not). You need to buy the premium versions of the other ones to save.

It seems you are correct. I can use in game save while the device is on, but if it restarts, the save is deleted. I misunderstood the description in the marketplace. Thanks.

Thanks for pointing that out to him . I asked here because I had already seen that on their website .

I'll download it tomorrow morning :)
You'll need to make sure you allow installing applications from unknown sources (Menu > Settings > Applications).

Actually, I think they both have a point- the software should be compatible, but I don't believe it shows up on the 1.5/1.6 Marketplace, which actually does hide some apps for some reason.

How do I get Handcent to display notifications on the bottom of the screen when My phone is locked? Is that possible?

I'm on a droid incredible. I tried searching around, but no luck.

So I have been looking for a graphing (plotting? I'm not sure what the correct mathematic, english term is) application, but I have found nothing but very, very amateur kinds of apps.

Can anyone help me? If it plots 3D graphics, that would also be really awesome.

...
:(

A few should be installed by default and a market search will yield the rest. Stick to the free ones and you'll have a lot of success. The opera one is the best though.

It's out. The circle is all but complete.

I downloaded Virtual Walkie Talkie (VWT), and it's pretty much the best app ever, *if I could figure out how this complicated shit works*. The public channels are fine, but I want to setup a private server. If you setup a server on your phone, it needs to be over Wi-Fi, not 3G, but that's not very useful.

Instead, they offer a little .bat file you can run on your PC (http://www.andro-ix.com/apps/virtualwalkietalkie/) to use it as a dedicated server, but when I run it, a DOS window pops up for a fraction of a second (far too short to read), and then it disappears. I tried enabled Port Forwarding on my router, same result.

Can anyone get this working? It'd be crazy awesome.

Does any know of a decent comic viewer, free or paid? I'd been using ACV for a while but it could be pretty shitty with frequent 'out of memory' errors. They updated it a week or two ago and it was working perfectly. Last night they updated again and it's back to square one.

Dropbox!!

And mint posted a blog yesterday saying an android app is imminent. If only mlb would give me streaming video.....

I downloaded and installed some xscope themes but none of them show up in settings?

Oh shit, the Mint app is out!!

I don't know anything about that program, but if you want to see what the .bat file says, you could open a command prompt (Start > Run > type "cmd" > press Enter), navigate to the folder with the .bat file, then type in the file name.

After watching a video review of "Locale" yesterday (and deciding I don't really need it for $10) I almost bought it for one feature alone. Is there an app that will automatically change settings based on an event like the battery getting below a certain threshold? I'd love to set my phone to go into "Bare bones" mode around 25% battery power (brightness all the way down, mobile net off, Wifi off, etc...).

I'm also looking into Timeriffic right now to solve my "always having to mute / unmute" problem. Are there any better programs for this on the android store?

So does this app just link to every account you have (Bank, Credit Card, Stocks, etc.)? I could see that being real useful, but holy crap I would I be paranoid of that information all being in one place.

Welcome to the last page. :D

The Dropbox app is pretty good. I switched from Droidbox to it. I haven't tried the "streaming music" thing, but that should be useful when I don't feel like syncing my Droid and have to run.

You've never heard of mint.com? It's about as secure as you're going to get, and the app has an extra layer of protection if you want through a passcode.

Mint is now owned by the Quicken folk. It has serious money behind it and is as secure as you are going to get with this type of thing. I've been using it for about 3 years, never had a problem.

Setting Profiles Full

Feature list:

* Activate/kill multiple settings profiles
* Autorun programs
* Toggle on/off ringer, ringtones, sounds, Autopilot Airplane mode, Network, Wifi, Bluetooth
* Conditions for Time, Day, GPS locale, Battery, Calendar, Calls, Headset, Car/Desk Dock, BT device

I could not live without this app. I have about 8 different profiles that all switch automatically based on those conditions. Automatic silent mode during work meetings, automatic wifi on when I'm at home, media volume to 100% when I plug in my car jack...

It's only $3.95, too! :D

Hah! I saw your post on the last page, but couldn't find it in the App Store. Now I feel dumb for not trying the search with a space in the middle (You had "SettingProfiles" as one word). Thank you sir!
Sorry and you're welcome!

What's the name of the app? I can't seem to find it in the market.

Why doesn't Google Shopper recognize QR codes? Come on, Google...

Google has a lot of overlap with their apps. They make a lot of similar stuff instead of making stuff people want, like Docs.

Goggles recognizes QR codes, but it takes a few seconds for it to do its picture scan and bring up the data. BarCode Scanner is definitely faster, but I use Goggles anyway instead. Not sure why.

I don't use Shopper, Shopsaavy ftw.

gamefly app released!

edit... like most other apps, its a subpar attempt in comparison to iphone :(
Is there really a need for a Gamefly app? Cant imagine it being such a necessity compared to only occasionally opening the site.

I actually have both and haven't had the chance to test them yet. Why do you favor Shopsaavy?
For one, Shopsaavy can scan QR codes while Google Shopper currently can't, as already pointed out. Shopsaavy also does a better job of presenting local pricing for the item you just scanned, so it quickly tells you the cheapest prices it finds online and finds locally. Shopper does include local results, just not as well delineated.

They're both fast as hell when scanning, but Shopsaavy has an edge, I think.

I think I just assumed SS couldn't do QR codes. Thanks!

I forget if it was native in Shopsaavy or enabled after installing Barcode Scanner. Either way, it does it now, Shopper doesn't.

Of course, I'm having issues getting mint to sign in to either of my banks. One fails at the username\password and the other fails at the security questions (even though I'm answering them correctly).

Yeah, as kaching said, it's a bit cleaner, a bit easier to use and to understand, just seems like more thought was put into it being smart and easy to use.
