Is anyone else feeling really constrained by the storage space offered on SD cards?
My Droid came with a 16gig card, and with all the photos and videos I take, theres barely enough for a suitable music collection. I can only have like 8 gigs of music give or take. And I have a shitton of podcast subscriptions. It really sucks.

I know there are 32gig cards but they are outrageously expensive. It's kinda stupid actually... I know for a fact I could easily max out 32gigs and quite possibly even 64gigs.

I just see it becoming a problem in the near future. My phone is usually my "homebase" so I don't like to delete pictures or video or really anything off of it to free up space. And it seems like there is a ceiling on how big microsd cards can actually get.

You just gotta pick and choose. It sucks when you have 100's of GBs of music and video that you like but how much of that do you really, really want to have on you at all times?

Narrow down your favorites and then pick favorites from your favorites and then favorites from your favorites from your favorites and then favorites from your favorites from your favorites from your favorites. Youll have enough room eventually.

The world of carrying every file locally on you because you can doesn't exist yet (for phones, atleast). Atleast Android has a lot of cloud stuff to ease storage problems, from Picasa to upcoming music streaming (and 3rd party options like Dropbox). Guess it does sucks for the user like you though, I only have 13 gbs of music and probably only listen and care about 5 or 6 out of that.

Yeah, I feel the same way. One of these days I just need to go through and delete all the music I never feel like listening to ever again. Way too much crap.

Yeah, I actually did that recently. Had 25 gigs of music. Space on my computer isn't an issue, it was just annoying. And some of it embarrassing :lol

All of it. Period.
I know it's kind of outrageous. I'm well aware it's impossible.

The only reason I brought it up is because MicroSD seems to be evolving MUCH slower than a certain competing device that doubles it's storage capacity every year.

Now that may slow down too, who knows. But I'd be willing to bet that in june they'll be offering a phone with 64gigs of storage and I don't see that happening on Android devices for a long time. The Droid isn't even capatible with a theoretical 64gig card, is it?

Android software is insane. Here's my game controller:

SDHC only goes up to 32GB. I can't imagine needing that much space on my phone. 0_0

Anyone use Runstar? I just did for the first time. It's a gorgeous app, the stats were accurate, but a lot of features aren't available yet. I can't find a way to review my stats online, either, so I suppose that's also unavailable and the map and stats are device only right now. It's nice, but a bit over rated, they need to release the paid version fast.

While I'm at it, anyone try My Tracks? It seemed excessive and complicated so I opted for Run Star, but I kinda wish I had used it instead, it gives tons of stats, available in Google Maps online. I guess I'll try it next time.

My tracks is the Google app, right?
I have it installed and used it to test a car ride. Seemed pretty sweet and accurate, though I have yet to test it for jogging, kinda falling behind on my routine. I'm gonna go on a walk to buy some beer later, I'll fire it up when I do and report back.

I can tell you though, from looking at my first test, there isn't a whole lot of stat tracking.
It shows the course on the map, and other than that the only thing available is:

"Sun May 16, 15:42:35 PDT 2010
14:46 1.81 mi."

Also, big ups to whoever recommended SMS backup. It's perfect for my usage patterns, except it's exclusion of MMS.

A situation with my brother was the trigger for me finding this app (some ex-girl, new girl-drama-age). Al thought I believe it's been mention here before my post.

Did you use the on-screen buttons on the left and right to move to other pages?

It shows your total distance, total time, moving time, avg. speed, max speed, avg. moving speed, elevation, elevation gain, min and max elevation, latitude and longitude, as well as a graph of elevation and speed over the duration of the 'journey/run/cycle'.

It also lets you upload the route and all those stats to Google Maps to share with friends, as well as upload to a spreadsheet on Google Docs so that over time you can monitor your stats to see where you're improving.

I've been using subsonic music server on my pc for years and recently started using their android app to stream my 60g of music. It works perfectly, well enough to use forever or hold me over till googles streaming

Don't forget, they announced at IO yesterday that they are planning to support streaming from our home pc to our android phones.

so i have kind of a noob question. Is there a way to get facebook (through app or widget or whatever) to automatically and immediately send a notification to your notification bar when you get a message or wall post, without going through sms or email? Is this what would be called a push notification?

So is it just me or was the Google Calender widget updated? I could have sworn it would only display events for the current day before and a no events message if there was nothing for the day, but right now its showing me an event 3 days away.

I guess this can go here

2.2 is out for nexus one

BREAKING: Android 2.2 Froyo OTA Now Available For The Nexus One!

Effective immediately, Google has started the rollout process of Froyo to the Nexus One. Go to your device’s settings and have it check for updates – there is a chance that you can download it right now.
MG Siegler of TechCrunch has performed the update and snapped the photos below.
At the Google I/O conference, the only answer I could get from Android developers regarding Froyo release to the N1 was "soon". However, they hinted that it would *really* soon, and so I was very skeptical of baseless updates like this one claiming a June release date without a source to back it up.
So how many of you is the update available to? How must faster does it feel?

Can anyone suggest to me a brilliant but free PDF reader for Android?
The stock reader that came with the phone is bullocks. Even the pdf capabilities of my fantastic dumb phone were better than the stock reader.

Looks like the official word from Google Help forums is that this update still isn't available
Nonsense. The respected tech blogs have it. I'm wondering if only the review phones are receiving it.

Anyway, I need to wait until 2.2 is Cyanogized first. Not sure what I'm up in arms about :lol

This is very well possible, but one of these "review" phones will be use to leak the download link. I can see an update.zip file hitting xda very soon.

I was just messing around, I really home those rumors about HTC already having 2.2 ready are true. I give it about a 2 month wait and as soon as we're rooted I'm trying 2.2
