Man, I really like what this game is becoming. I remember loving the first reveal and then I was blown away by the E3 trailer. Love inFamous.
Wow, great screen shot. You know, I've had zero interest in this game (never played the others either), but everytime I see new media of it, it seems to get better and better. I'm interested now just need to see what kind of story/world it will have. Were the other Infamous games any good storywise or gameplay wise?

pretty sure it is indeed low budget, at least lower than other Sony retail games. Cerny's whole spiel about PS4 is how he's concerned about increasing cost/budget to make games that he make PS4 games ease of development as a priority.
we know it's made by only a small team from SCE
I don't think SCE Japan Studio is small, though they probably have many teams on different projects.
Wow this looks almost CGI. Great looking game.

But for the record, here is GTA4 with the enb mod installed.
He looks like a jackass that I'd want to punch in the face. Cole is just straight-up badass.
Genius.Give me warm. Give me soft. Give me....Shiny.
Why is it not a launch game? I'm still pissed it's a 2014 game.

People who were talking mostly about diminishing returns had in mind comparing next-gen titles to PC ports of current gen titles and they were right.

ah the Crytek guy arrived
Yeah yeah.
But I think that putting aside the fact that obviously anyone with a top end PC game will be able to run any game at a more consistent framerate and higher resolutions and whatnot, I think just comparing a recently released open world game on PC like Saint's Row IV to this game shows the massive gap. We don't even need to compare it to something like GTA, where inFamous still massacres it.
But for the record, here is GTA4 with the enb mod installed. Consider it at 60fps+ too.
Now inFamous will be 30fps, so that's always a consideration, but aesthetically and technically, the shit inFamous is pulling off that GTA or Saint's Row (or hell, even Sleeping dog's, although that game has amazing rain effects on the road) isn't on PC or current gen systems are so numerous as to be enough to write a book. The effect is an astonishing leap, no two ways about it. The level of destructibility, the insane particle effects, the outrageous reflections, the bokeh (edit: just want to be clear some console ports to PC have used bokeh, IIRC), the character models... it's so much further ahead than open world in this gen, current gen PC ports or not, that to claim diminishing returns in my opinion is more likely to out someone as going slightly blind![]()
Its mostly because they have higher specs as a base line, so they can polish it in better way, like give higher res textures and better geometry for characters, better effects from the start, better lighting than on current etc, but overall its not that much different from current gen, especially when You start looking more than 5 meters from the character. LoD is still pretty awful, shadow rendering is awful, texture streaming is mediocre and particles still dont have soft-collision in many games, there are not many objects running around overall etc.
I'm not Crytek guy, i just like tech and its not my fault that Crytek has the best tech currently, followed by DICE.

Thats what physically based rendering does for lighting, but there are current gen games with physically based rendering and even more are coming, so its more current algorithms enhancements and art creation pipeline changes than next-gen hardware enabled feature. The lighting is a pretty huge jump man did you even see the other Infamous games? Everything is a substantial upgrade over what we are seeing current gen produce and I have played the majority of my open world games maxed on a PC.
You are commenting whats we see now and i'm commenting what we see now. Of course we'll see how it changed at launch, but i'm not talking about launch, i'm talking about what they do now. I'm not trying to speculate as some people do in those threads. No but seriously, let's wait till launch to pass final judgment on things like LOD and texture streaming, as it's clear, and has even been mentioned that things things are still being fine tuned and polished. Nothing we've seen is beyond pre alpha and alpha. And we've seen how much some of the PS4 exclusives have improved in just a short few months, despite many (including yourself) thinking they'd instead be downgraded.
Was pretty amusing seeing you in a state of denial about Shadow Fall MP being 60fps though. Are you still holding on to the idea that they won't hit that target out of curiosity?
This off topic, just talking about reflections, but I was really blown away by this GIF

I remember people said real time car reflections would be impossible without ray tracing. I can'[t believe Turn 10 pulled it off.

Also 'be honest lol' - Am i not? Is there better tech company than Crytek currently? Because i dont know one.
Will see, they are quite far yet, but they can do it of course.
And why wouldnt be in state of denial when their trailer run in 15-20fps? I base my predictions on facts and at the time there was no way they would hit 60fps with trailer dropping to 15. Its not my fault that they cant encode footage.
Also they have a lot optimization do and rendering issues to fix, like shadows shouldnt render as they render now.
i'm not sure if a hood reflection is supposed to be a mirrored view of what's going on in front of you.
Thinking about it, I can't wait to see what ND and SSM will do on the PS4.
Driving vehicles confirmed? I hope so. No excuses this time especially from the fans, I get it that it's a superhero game but giving options is never a bad thing. I'd love to get into a vehicle, drive like crazy and smoke teleport out just before it crashes. In the bad playthrough of course.

What? absolutely no point in driving vehicles in infamous games.Driving vehicles confirmed? I hope so. I must have missed a post. What makes you think driving could have been confirmed?

The pic everyone is hyping up is a close up of a car. That's all I need to know
Hypothetically speaking, if the game lets you drive a vehicle would you hate it then?

If they added the "option" of driving, then they'd be motivated to integrate it into missions (because devs don't spend their resources to implement shit for no reason), and it would be stupid for Delsin to drive a car from a narrative standpoint and a gameplay design standpoint.
So it might make the game tangibly worse.
I wouldn't "hate" it but it wouldn't automatically be better to have the option.

InFamous to em has some of the best traversal elements in any game.Being forced to drive in a car ... or flying around the world as a plume of smoke like a superpowered badass. I wonder.
And if the missions that use vehicles are well thought out what exactly is the problem? It's not like the game has issues with funding and resources. Sony are treating SP as one of their premier developers now. I wouldn't care if they don't add vehicles but if the game does I fully expect SP to actually work it in well into the game and the missions that require it.
Those rainy wet reflective streets... Imagine Gran Turismo 7. :drool
