Anyone else dissapointed in the PS4 launch titles?

Kind of, Killzone looks neat though. If they also have some of those Indie games on day one, I'll be happy.

Pretty much. I've secured my Launch Edition and I'm not gonna cancel it. I'll just be happy to have it and I'll just play Warframe and try out Driveclub since I am a PS+ member. I also hope for some Indie titles and maybe demos day one.

Yeah, I'm not seeing anything that is convincing me to part with $399. I've let myself get over-hyped in the past and have gotten burned. Unless one of the launch games completely blows my socks off I'll probably wait to buy a PS4.

I think the first-party launch titles for both XB1 and PS4 look pretty weak, honestly. Third party support is strong, however. Overall not a bad launch lineup.

Why would they try to keep launch titles close to the chest?

Cause they don't know if said titles will be ready for launch?

If the launch lineup consists of the E3 games only I may wait until they release InFamous but we still have to see Diablo 3 and probably the Japanese games. A next gen port of Ultimate Dead or Alive 5 could certainly win me over.

I don't think we know enough about the launch titles to be honest with Gamescom and TGS coming up Sony needs to demonstrate some killer apps beyond Killzone and the great 3rd party stuff like Watch Dogs. MS isn't really doing much better though at launch since Titan Fall is 2014.

I'm disappointed when I look at their exclusives. I'm getting multi-plats on my Xbox, so the only game I'm getting at launch with my PS4 is Killzone and maybe Knack if it reviews well and it turns out to be more fun than the demos they've shown.

Hopefully Sony has more exclusives for launch being announced at Gamescom or TGS.

In a vacuum I think it's the strongest launch lineup I've ever seen.

A few too many ports or multi platforms though, plus it could do with maybe 1 really killer stand out. I'm still buying one based on what's available day one though so..

I'd say this launch is missing Ridge Racer and a fighting game.

Ridge Racer R Rage (or whatever) + Battle Arena Toshinden NEXT = I probably would be much more hype for PS4 launch.

A little bit. Only one game I absolutely must have. If Second Son was launch, that would help a lot.

It's hard getting hype for a next iteration of a system, when you get the previouw system late in it's life. I have Infamous Collection sitting right by my PS3, and have yet to play any of them, lol.

Yet I've played through most Dead Rising games multiple times now. totally ready for a new protagonist, weapons, and a seamless open world!

I could see myself feeling very different if this gen's system purchases were reversed...

I've been disappointed with ever launch sense the Dreamcast...

Doesn't mean I won't be there day one. We still have Gamecon and TGS before we get a true picture.

Not really, exclusives maybe, I think Killzone and Driveclub look okay (need to see more of Driveclub, though there's a free version of the game for PS+)... it's just that 3rd party games are looking better.

The exclusive games don't look that great. They look decent, but not "buy me for this game" decent. Thankfully they do have 3rd party games to fill the void w/ AssCreed, Watchdogs, etc.

Call me crazy but I'm mostly looking forward to playing Planetside 2 on PS4 alongside other F2P games. I will be buying Killzone and getting Drive Club for free from PSN+ also.

The multiplatform titles are the ones that are really shaping up for launch for both consoles.

BF4
CoD Ghosts
Need for Speed Rivals
Watch Dogs
AC IV

I feel that both platforms *exclusive* titles are somewhat lacking, although I'd probably put them on even footing

Top Tier
Killzone
Forza

Mid Tier
Dead Rising 3
Planetside 2

"Meh" Tier
Ryse
Killer Instinct
Drive Club

It's much better than ps3's launch. KZ looks nice.

I think the xb1 has a slightly better exclusive lineup for launch though.

Well, there's no launch titles that interest me. That's why I also didn't pre-order any new consoles anywyas. But its not dramatic for me or alarming because I find it perfectly normal that launch games are few and sucking. Its in the next year or next 2 years from launch that I will jump in (or not)

Only knowing the current launch titles I say X180 has the better launch lineup of games. However nothing will ever compare to the
dreamcast launch.

I have a really nice gaming PC, so the lack of interesting exclusives is honestly the thing making me think I might pick up an XBO on launch instead because the gameplay videos of dead rising 3 make it look like a lot of fun. Then when Infamous comes out I'll pick up a PS4.

Yeah it's not too good, but not bad either. I think Watch Dogs and Killzone will be enough for me at launch. Knack looks pretty disappointing though. If Infamous was there at launch then I'd be much more impressed.

The launch line up is good in the sense that there are a lot of great games that interest me. However none of them are PS4 exclusive or even next generation exclusive.

My launch list so far:
  • Battlefield 4
    NBA 2K14
    Diablo 3

I plan on playing Planetside 2 as well -- whenever that's released -- so that will be the first exclusive I actually play, but even that is on the PC.

Havs anyone explained the differences between the current and next gen versions of Watch Dogs? We are left to assume the difference is load times, textures and other graphical enhancements. I would love to know the detailed explanation sometime.

I really want to buy a PS4 at launch but none of the launch titles hold any interest for me right now. The only title out of the bunch I saw that held any interest for me was Second Son (which is supposed to come out in 2014).

I have a pre-order in for a PS4 @ Amazon, but if nothing changes I'll probably cancel it as we approach launch date.

Not that typical Sony fan are you? I'd love to have all their launch titles. KillZone is a ton of fun btw.

I remember buying Jet Motto on PS1 and thought everyone was missing out. Its strange to see a lot of new gamers pick up and drop games a lot Sony fans were used to playing.

Me personally, The XB1 launch games give me the whole FPS nightmare again. KillZone is totally different (though its an FPS), it doesn't breath down your neck like a lot of FPS like Halo did on the Xbox.

I don't see why everyone is complaining, there's a few current gen titles too on launch. And you also have to remember 360 had Kameo and PDZ, I mean the PS4 launch titles are ten times as good as those were.

As far as exclusives, yeah, it's looking really bad. I have my PS4 pre-ordered and will not buy one single exclusive for it at launch. That's just bad. I will be getting Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4 and maybe Need for Speed, while renting other games.

On one hand, it's an improvement over previous launches. Strong third party support and a couple of interesting exclusives.

On the other, where's my WipeOut?

Why did they have to kill Studio Liverpool, again? :(

3rd party is going to really do well at launch, and since I'm only getting the PS4 then it's a pretty damn good launch lineup. Killzone, BF4, Watch Dogs, NFS Rivals, Driveclub, (I'll miss you so much Forza) I'll have a lot to play.

Not having infamous hurt it a lot for me. Driveclub and Knack do nothing for me, and I just can't get into Killzone.

I know I'm being nitpicky (even for NEOGAF) but I actually find the pointing animation to be annoying in Killzone. I'm not actually big on any of the animations or ragdoll physics. I assume they are going to be updating those as we close in on launch. They definitely don't look to be "next-gen" at the moment. I'm assuming there was some placeholder art/animation still left in the game when it was shown at E3.

Well aside from the depressing fact that I'd not be able to afford one this year, the launch lineup really looks rather unappealing to me. I'm jumping in when they port GT6 (not port begging but AFAIK it was already confirmed for it no?)

Also, it's going to be a massacre to even get one this year in Europe unless you pre-order.

Excited for Knack, KZ, WD, and the indie games.

I don't buy the argument against cross gen games, because they'll be superior on PS4 as well as Vita remote play capable. ;)

With the lineup of current gen games this year and next spring, it might be a good thing to slowly ease users into next gen. There's absolutely nothing wrong with buying at launch though.

totally off topic except for it being a launch title, but anyone know if ACII guy is composing the music in AC4, his Main Theme for Assassin's Creed III is THE Assassin's Creed theme to me now, I hope it returns
so dramatic and epic, give me chills lol
This one btw

I know those were PS launch titles, but did you actually play Toshinden, or did you block out those memories?

Surely. And 2. And 3. And Ura. They were fun games with solid soundtracks, and totally out-there characters. Loads of fun with the series.

Games don't have to be AAA to be fun to play ;) My best memories with ps brand come from the obscure, niche, and fun titles.

The launch lineup is kind of disappointing in terms of exclusives, yeah. But it will probably be my defacto home for multiplats (sorry Wii U), so Watch Dogs, AC4 & maybe CoD can be added to the list.

Well.. it's way better than PS3 and Xbox 360 launch line-up, but it could always be better. I mean if Sony threw in TLG or ND's next game, it would be fucking epic. But I give it a solid B+.
