Anyone else dissapointed in the PS4 launch titles?

I think it's personally weak for my interests but it's strong for the typical gamer imo. Killzone, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty, Assassins Creed, etc. Third parties make it pretty strong.

Yes. I've got one preordered but there are no launch games that I'm really looking forward to specifically on the PS4. I'll be excited for Madden 25, new Need For Speed, Watch Dogs, and 3rd parties like Battlefield or CoD, but nothing else has me hooked in. Generally don't like Killzone that much

If you are talking about first party games than yes. But having battlefield 4 and diablo 3 on launch allready makes the purchase worthwhile for me.

All the launch games of PS4 are the same kinda games I don't care about on PS3; the big AA samey-fest that have characters and setting that ultimately seem like everything I DON'T want in gaming.

Then you go on to list a bunch of samey-fest XB1 titles you are looking forward to including a B level fighter, CoD clone and a zombie game sequel. Good thing you have standards.

I want one too, but I agree that there are no must haves at the moment. Situation on the Xbone is worse though.

I have a PC for multiplats.

Hardware launches having mediocre to poor launch line-ups is pretty much the new norm. It's been this way for the last two generations, and all hardware manufacturers are guilty of it. The best advice I can give anyone, is to wait a year to buy new hardware, unless there's something at launch you absolutely must have.

It's a shame that Infamous won't be ready for launch (although I'd rather they polish it up properly than rush it out), but I think I'll be fine. Killzone looks ace, Drive Club will be great I'm sure (yeah, it looks a bit rough right now, but I have confidence in Evolution given their amazing Motorstorm games), the Witness looks really cool (launch title, right?), maybe Watch Dogs will be worth picking up, etc. BF4, maybe.

For exclusives, definitely. Past Killzone games were boring to me, so it's hard to get excited about that one. Knack is just plain unappealing; Cerny should have just gotten the rights to make another Marble Madness. DriveClub looks interesting, although I'm fully expecting Forza 5 to be the better game.

Hopefully Sony can show off the superior tech in their box through third party comparisons, I'm very curious how they'll stack up against their XB1 counterparts at launch.

I am hyped for the console itself but due to the launch lineup, I'll wait to get one. I'm leaning towards a Wii U for the holidays.

Yea the games I will prob get are watch dogs, battlefield and NBA 2k. So the exclusives early are not really appealing to me. But they will in time.

Killzone looks solid and Drive Club will probably be decent, but nothing really screams 'you must play me'. I need that sort of push to spend $400, especially when I have enough current-gen games to keep me busy for at least a year. I will likely make the jump when there is an attractive bundle.

Sony first party has always been weak for me outside of a few titles. Unlike the Vita though, PS4 will get great third party support to carry it through launch.

The launch line up was great until PSN+.

The KZ3 crowd was small a year ago. KZ SF is not COD or BF, the paywall is gonna make its online base even worse.

And that's the story for me of how the line up went from great to "good".

I'm disappointed with KillZone. I haven't seen anything to wow me about that title

I am however genuinely hyped by Knack

Third parties are the stars of the line up, but those weren't even there for PS3 and PS2. Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, Battlefield and Call of Duty are all quite beefy and matured. You won't run out of things to play too soon.
If I'm worried about anything it's that we don't know what's coming from Sony after inFamous 3.

If my random friend list is any indication (probably isn't), a lot of people are going into the PS4 with PS Plus already.

The launch + near launch line up is pretty decent. It isn't steller, but I've learned through experience that most launch lineups aren't that great.

It usually takes about a year for the really impressive stuff to start coming out. As a lot of stuff before that ends up being cross-gen, or made mostly on early dev kits.

At launch, you're mainly purchasing for the future of the platform. The launch titles are just there to get you by.

No. It's a pretty strong launch lineup. Some noteworthy (day and date) titles I'm excited for;

Killzone
DRIVECLUB
Knack
WATCH_DOGS
Planetside 2 (f2p)
Warframe (f2p)
Battlefield 4
Diablo 3

In my opinion one of the strongest launch lineups in history.

Totally fine with the lineup :D 64 player 60 fps Battlefield will be sooooo good, and I'm really psyched about The Witness. Add to that a free-ish Driveclub, some decent f2p titles and possibly some cool indie games, and I'm more or less a happy panda :D

Launch lineups are normally a bit disappointing. Its hard to have the hard hitters in all genres day one.

If nothing interests you now, don't buy the system..

Meanwhile I will get Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4, and NBA2k...plus a couple of PSN titles for PS4..

Most of the games I'm interested in during launch are also available on the PS3, so... yeah. Not really all that excited about the PS4 launch lineup. To be fair, I don't think many systems have had what I call "good" launches. If inFamous was available at launch, I'd be all over it.

Isn't Transistor a launch title?

Anyway, I like Knack because it reminds me of all the old-school PS1 games that I used to play as a kid. C:

But I'm not buying it at launch anyway, so I don't mind at all. It's not about the launch titles for me, it's about what's coming down the line. And there are some pretty amazing titles coming.

Is Diablo 3 a confirmed launch title?

No. It's a pretty strong launch lineup. Some noteworthy (day and date) titles I'm excited for;

Killzone
DRIVECLUB (PS+ version)

Diablo 3

Definitely getting these 4, and Outlast (free with PS+) whenever it releases. I might also get NBA2K14.

There's probably no gamechanger, but this is a very strong launch for me.

Can't say I'm unhappy really. Looking forward to killzone, infamous, & driveclub. Also interested in some of the 3rd party multiplatform titles too (bf4, watchdogs, creed IV too possibly).

I listed WHY they matter to me, too.

I mean, good for telling me why you find they're mediocre, but don't act like I didn't cite my reasons in detail. Your opinions of each game don't even factor into why I'm interested in them at all.

Perhaps why I'm interested in Titanfall, is because I never really played a CoD. When I see the game, mecha VS ground troop action, a chance to play 2 normally uneven character types VS each other. How does THAT factor into "LoL, you want a Call of Duty Clone!"? Serious question.

Yes.

Metal Gear was the only one that really interested me and that's multiplat.

yup

well honestly its two pretty decent games, or decent looking games at launch, thats....something?

second son and killzone are the others in addition to the metal gear stuff

Considering how great the launch lineup was for Vita, yeah the PS4 launch is pretty weak. Not that I would have got it at launch either way. I was always going to wait until some point next year anyway. To me more specific I plan on waiting until the instant game collection launches on PS4.

As far as exclusives go the Wii U had a much better launch lineup imo.

A little. But I need that new tech buzz, plus I have PS+ already so that is free(ish) driveclub. And then next gen versions of multiplatform games and the promise of Sony first party stuff throughout next year.

No real reason to buy day one,but I WANT to.
