Anyone else looking forward to the Witcher on consoles?

This game is amazing. I feel bad because I got this game for free (came with a friends video card whose system I put together and he gave it to me) so I'm going to buy it on a console (most likely 360) to play through it one more time with all the new tweaks and settings.

While you're not wrong about the collision and character reactions, it's utterly irrelevant to gameplay. It's like refusing to play DMC3 because Dante's coat doesn't flap accurately.
That isnt a fair comparison, because dante's coat has absolutely no impact on the gameplay. Collision, reaction, and sound are cues that tell the player exactly what is happening and how to respond accordingly. When you attack an enemy and absolutely nothing happens, that is a serious matter. How is this not an important issue in a game full of combat?

I wonder if he would complain in old Final Fantasy games that they don't actually HIT the enemy? lol its an RPG from a smaller dev, I want it for what it offers not the fact its not as polished as some multi million dollar budgets XD
Thats just an ignorant statement to make, especially since the older final fantasy games offered cues to tell you if you hit or miss every time, and sound wasnt an issue either as they were always tied to the action. They handled it much better than this game did(yeah its turn based, but you brought it up). As far as them being a small dev, thats fine and Im happy that the title is getting the acclaim, but flaws are flaws.

What are you talking about? The only statement you make that isn't completely false is about reactions and animations. The sound in the game is rock solid and there is always a sound cue that lets you know when the next imput is required. The character animations are also fine, not buggy like you claim, and they also indicate just fine when user input is needed.

So about reactions and animations, to me it sounds like you are imposing conventions of a different genre, action, on a genre where that is not the focus. No rpgs that I have played have fluid combat animations that accurately mimic the interactions between attacker and defender. That is something only found in games like DMC or GoW. Your not going to find that in games where the main focus is story and statistical combat and interaction. I don't go into devil may cry threads and criticize the game because Dante doesn't have agility and strength modifiers that increase as I progress through the game, because it is not that type of game.

I understand that, as I said in my previous post. Im not comparing the actual gameplay to dmc, only the execution for what it is trying to deliver. A dmc style system would completely render the growth of your character useless. It looks sloppy, unlike everything else in the game. Yes, this style of game usually looks like this, but Im going to excuse poor animation and interaction because its "the norm". Increasing these faults wouldnt break the system in place at all, nor would it look out of place...it would make things better and give better visual cues. In the process, the action would look more cinematic and fluid. I came in this thread because Im interested in how the port will be handled, so I addressed my concerns, dislikes, and hopes for it.

So from this post I take it that it's a lot like Oblivion but worse? Ugh. Sorry but I really dreaded Oblivion's play-style and design.

ok wildly OT post time:

its not like the black isle games, imo the immersion is better due to the perspective and extra detail however playing the games without mods is like any bethesda game post daggerfall without mods "average", however moding the shit out of it, makes the game alot more fun and plays more like deus ex with a pause for aimed shots

looky here for my mod post

basically in un modded fallout 3 you got way too much xp, vats was way overpowered (you took like 10% damage or something) and you could basically swim in radiatited water no problem, with the mods I listed you will die fricken fast fighting mutiple peoples if you dont use cover/mines/targeted shots to disable them, water is certain death without a load of rad-x and radaway, and you need to eat, drink, and sleep. Also limb damages hurts you badly (in movement speed, accuracy, or perception) and same now goes for enemies.

if you get fallout 3 get the pc version and imo play it once unmodded (you will pwn everything) then again with the mods i listed. I loved the turnbased fallouts (had them when they were new) but with mods fallout 3 plays like an rpg-lite strat based fps.

The writing however isnt near as good as black isle, but the world imo is better if only for exploring and coming across cool stuff.

Unmodded Fallout 3 as a fallout game: C-

Fallout 3 as a PC RPG - C+

Modded up fallout 3 B+ imo ( it still wont be turned based, but itll be more balanced, deadly, and unforgiving, which is imo how it should be)

Hmm I see thank you.

Would it be possible to have mods for the ps3 version? Im completely ignorant as far as modding for the ps3 goes, how would it work if implemented?
