Anyone else trading their Wii U for a PS4 preorder?

Oh here's another reason why I"m keeping my WiiU

amekbv.gif

There was a scene in the Square-Enix tech demo that looked a little similar to this. Going up in the sky and seeing a vast vista before you. Any GIFs of that made, yet?

Edit:
Vita/iOS lovers who trash Nintendo's graphical capabilities are an interesting lot.

I may or may not buy a Wii U sometime in the future but it likely will be my only console if I decide to buy a new console.

I am not impressed with better graphics as I am with innovation. I mean, c'mon, how is better graphics going to offer type of games we haven't played before? To me the graphic capabilities of the PS3/360 are good enough. I would have been more impressed if Sony came out with a new way to interact with video games (the touchpad doesn't cut it). As far as I can see thanks to the Wii U gamepad there is going to be a lot of new games utilizing innovative gameplay mechanics not found elsewhere.

Others reasons why I will probably stick with Wii U: Most inexpensive, 1st party games, probably the best console for local multiplayer fun.

Nope, not going to hop onto the PS4/next Xbox until 2015 at the earliest. Even then, I'm keeping my Wii U since I'm going to make it my all encompassing Nintendo console (since it will play games from just about every Nintendo console, even the gameboy advance).

Nope. I am going with a PS4U combo this gen.

PS4 obviously trumps the Wii U graphically, but it doesn't have Nintendo's games or a touchscreen controller (as standard) + Miiverse features made possible with the GamePad.

Nah, still keeping the Wii U, I'm usually a Nintendo/Sony Platform owner, but I wait till the Prices go down on that Sony tech before investing. Never traded in a console before.

Someone should try to beat Wario to his next sequel thread, "Anyone else cancelling their PS4 preorder for a 720 preorder?"

I'm still trying to figure out what is supposed to be even remotely impressive about that X gif.

Granted, it beats out Killzone because it isn't Killzone but there's only one game that succumbs to that fate.

No. I bought the Wii U for Nintendo games. The PS4 debut was impressive, but I'm not sold on it yet. So far it's only solidified my goal of sticking with PC & Wii U for next gen.

I'll trade my 250 gig premium 360 towards aPS4. WiiU will be
staying in my living room. No next gen MS for me this round with
kinect built into it. No sale.

I know in that X game i'll be able to fly to that waterfall, You will not be able to go down to that city and into the streets in that killzone game when ever you want....

How do you know what is or isn't off limits in a game we have barely seen and don't even know the actual sub-genre of?

It's almost as if they're completely different kinds of games or something.

KZ is clearly more technically impressive than X. They're both displaying a large world with great draw distance but there's a vast difference in the amount of detail and objects populating the scene - a difference that the Wii U can never hope to achieve. But that won't stop you guys from posting that gif from now to kingdom come, so whatever.

Anyway, to answer the thread: no. I'm sure there will be some great Wii U games eventually, and I wouldn't want to take the loss on returning it.

Obligatory "why not both.jpg?"

Page 2 of the thread (100 post per page version).

IIRC, the reveal trailer started of with the guy running around on foot. Came upon a giant dinosaur/monster and started killing it. "Oh, it's a Monster Hunter type game." Then he nonchalantly climbs up this mountain, climbs into a robot, and flies over the freaking landscapeohmygoodnesssoawesomemusthavethisgameadsfja;psdfjas;d....

X.gif is born.

Is that why people are impressed? I thought it was because it look technically better than any game on a Nintendo platform so far.

Well the Killzone gif makes no sense then. :p

Obligatory "why not both.jpg?" and "can your iphone play Uncharted?" Yoshida tweet. ;)

That costs too much money. If I had infinite money I would buy a PS4 day one
but it would be just be gathering dust in my mansion full of pinball and arcade machines
.

No. I think I can count on one hand the number of exclusives the PS3 got over its lifetime that I could not play on my PC (and, by extension, better on my PC) that I actually consider decent games. With a good rig, consoles serve only as first party machines and Nintendo is the only first party strong enough to convince me to buy their platform at launch now that I have a PC. (Although Platinum deserves equal credit this time around.) I would not be surprised if I go the next gen with just a Wii U and PC.

That said, if the Sony and MS exclusives come and actually look like good games to me, I'll buy their machines.

If you've played Xenoblade chronicles, then you know what type of game that is going to be. It's from the same exact creators of Xenoblade chronicles, Hell it even has the same type of interface.
