Anyone going XsX + PC next gen? And why?

Continues? All? They've put like two games out of their myriad of exclusives and only years later when the games were selling for like $15 on PS4.

Notice the IF he added to his statement.....anything can change going forward. Sony could be testing the waters with those titles on the PC and if there is demand, they could continue doing that, specially if Microsoft finds success with their plan on releasing on PC alongside the Xbox.

Although it is a great thing what Microsoft is doing, they are giving less reasons to people to get a Series X. It is about their platform and I think if things do go that way with PlayStation establishing their own platform on PC, it'd be great.

I want all 3, however I'm going to struggle to keep them all in my small apartment. My plan is:

1) Future PC needs to be a mini-ITX form factor.

2) Xbox will be stored vertically.

3) PS5 needs to support a vertical orientation otherwise I'll wait for the Pro. No vertical support means it's XB and PC for now. We'll see.

Everything needs to be able to stand up. The downsides of living in such a small apartment!

Nope. No point in going PC + XSX when I can play everything that XSX can play, but better on PC. I went PC + PS4 this time and got the best of both worlds.

It will all depend on the games. If there will be a bunch of isometric view point&click games that interest me then PC is a must, or if the games that interest me will run at 30FPS on XBX. But other than that XBX looks like a good investment.

What is the point of the Xbox if you have a gaming capable PC?

Larger Xbox Live community, backwards compatibility with XB and X360, less cheating in multiplayer, more parity in multiplayer, ease of use, stable and closed platform and although I have never had a problem with the Microsoft PC store when buying or downloading games, it does seem some people do.

Notice the CONTINUES TO in his statement.

Yeah, because Sony has announced some titles that you even acknowledge in your own post, that they are planning on releasing and IF after those they CONTINUE......now you can reference his post again and hopefully it will align and make sense to you! Not that I expect you to read since you didn't even bother reading the rest of my post. lol

I mean, dude, all he was saying is people should look at getting a PS5 & PC OR just a PC IF Sony continues to release games on the PC......not that they have been or will be; only that if they continue (after the ones they have announced), then you only need to have a PC. This is my last comment on this because if you don't get it after this you won't. This isn't science!

Well, I don't have a gaming PC, but one of the kids has been hinting at it. If they convince me to there will be a 50% chance of having XsX and PC next gen (still a toss up on PS5 or XsX).

Ok, if Sony continues to release 1 or 2 of their exclusives on PC each decade (several years after their PlayStation release), you should totally give up PlayStation.

Yes. Even though I have a pretty good PC (i7-9700k, 32 GB ram, RTX 2070), I prefer gaming on consoles. I sit at a PC all day for work (I am an application developer), sitting at PC to play games don't appeal to me. I know you can still hook up the PC to a TV and play from a couch (I even have a keyboard lapboard so I can do that), I like the console experience better. No tweaking graphic settings to get the best performance/graphics balance. No debugging why all of the sudden your peripheral is not working or why the audio stopped. Not worrying about having the upgraded drivers and more. Sure PC gaming is easier than it used to be, but it is still more work than playing on a console. Spend the day debugging other people's bugs then having to debug a game I am trying to play to unwind does not appeal to me.

I have the expendable income to be able to afford it. I plan on getting the XSX and then a PS5. I prefer the Xbox setup more, so as I have done with the last two generations, I will go with them first and then get a Playstation a couple of years into the generation. I just find playing games on a console more relaxing.

Also, I am working from home a lot more, so having a separation from work space and play space is a lot better, IMO.

My post references the Sony exclusives on PC not Xbox.

My bad, When I read Horizon my brain decided you were talking about the racing game. Not sure how I misinterpreted that.

On the Sony side, HZD, Death Stranding and The Show are all that have been confirmed but if they do well more could follow. If not that's just a couple games a year which isn't worth buying another box to me.

I am most likely going xbox next gen, Game pass is just too good of a value to pass up for me. I might upgrade my PC at some point but that will be a little further out.

Gotcha, that's fair.

I love almost all of Sony's exclusives, so for me a Playstation is necessary. On the Xbox side, I don't see myself grabbing one if I have a PC (will be building another here soon, as I sold my old one for extra money for my Japan trip in April which you can guess how that went...), but that is purely from a monetary standpoint. I don't have multiple rooms that I game in where having a dedicated box for lets say the living room would be nice. I could be swayed however depending on what Microsoft can do, even more so if the Lockhart console is real. Only time will tell.
I know it was a dumb rumor, but if Sega did the branding for Series X in Japan I would import one 100%

I prefer consoles as a whole (don't get me wrong, I know PC is superior in a lot of ways), and while my "allegiance" for lack of better words would lie on the PlayStation side I still have a lot of nostalgia for the Xbox brand mainly from the OG Xbox days.

My gaming PC was converted to a nas server. No more PC gaming for me. For the new generation I am done with Sony and will switch to the US based company Microsoft. CD project Red and Bethesda open world games will certainly run and look better on Xbox.

I'll be going PS5 and PC for sure, but my PC was only recently upgraded to a 1070 and don't plan to upgrade again for a bit. I'll probably end up with a Series X as well.

I'm probably getting both the XSX and PS5, but I'm definitely getting the XSX first. I also have a PC (and a Switch, but that's a whole other beast).

I feel like the Series X is going to carry on the tradition of running 3rd party games better, faster, and at higher resolution than the PlayStation counterpart. In addition to that, Game Pass is an amazing value that will probably net even day one buyers a hand full of games to run on the new box. Backwards compatibility all the way back to the original Xbox is a huge bonus, and word on the street is that they'll be starting up that project again in a few months adding even more OG and 360 titles to the compatibility list. Games with Gold continuing to give out BC games in addition to Xbox One games is a better deal for me than what PS+ offers. I'm also already heavily invested in the Xbox ecosystem and it's wonderful knowing that my previous purchases will all carry forward to the new generation.

So I imagine things will carry on like they currently do: I'll have my Xbox Series X for the majority of my gaming, the PlayStation 5 for exclusives, and the Switch (or it's successor) for mobile gaming and also exclusives. My PC will keep getting used for it's special features like ultra wide screen or games that are more easily or comfortably controlled with a keyboard and mouse.

I think I'll stick with playstation since I have a lot of PS4 games, which can be enjoyed on the PS5. Plus I really like Sonys exclusives.

I do however think that the XsX will outbeast the PS5, but for me the PS5 BC is more important than the extra power of the XsX.

I'm getting a XSX because I have a library of xbox games and most of my friends have xbox. I'll use my pc for Sony games that come to pc. Plus my pc wont nearly be as powerful as an xsx.

I'm going Series X and PC because I'm a big Halo player. I have a pretty sweet laptop with a 2070 in it. I play Halo at work or when I travel on my laptop and I play on my Xbox at home. My Master Chief Collection progress goes both ways and they will eventually add cross play. Infinite will surely have cross play. For me its a no brainer.

I have a system with a 2080 Super in it, and I will be buying the Xbox Series X, PS5, and whatever Nintendo comes with(I got a switch, so if they just load it up with games cool)

I personally have always maintained a computer capable of high specs since I started PC Gaming(about 97/98) and It never stopped me from enjoying consoles.

But I also really don't engage in the console war/beef stuff or have any real biases against either company. If I like it/dont like it I just speak with my wallet

I think you are deliberately trying not to get it so I won't be wasting anymore time on ya.

I think you should read what people actually say instead of read what you want from what they say. I will try, despite my better judgement before, to explain once more. Sony has plans on releasing a few of their titles on the PC which they have announced. We don't know if more will come after that; but the possibility is there, specially if the titles they release do well on PC which could mean more will follow or encourage Sony to completely switch strategy and release all titles on the PC. We don't know their plans. I guess you seem to know so you should enlighten us.

I think you're trying to deliberately paint a false narrative.

What's the point of going XsX+PC? 🤔
Nope. Why bother with Xbox when I can pretty much get the same content on PC.
Why would anyone want a series x if they have the latest pc?
What's a single reason to do this?
What is the point of the Xbox if you have a gaming capable PC

Why is everyone sharing their personal preference in the form of a question lol? Ok, I`ll play along.

Off course i will get both, i have friends, kids, big apartment. I like gaming and arent poor. I also care about aesthetics and convenience... what possible reason could there be not getting xsx and pc???

Our household will be going "all of the above" as usual. XSEXbox, PS5, and upgrading our slimline HTPCs as needed (one has Ryzen 3600 + 1650, the other is Ryzen 3400G). I like having all options and going with the best version of games regardless of platform. Sometimes playing on console is better even if PC is able to run it at higher rez/textures. Sometimes it's better to play on PC. Specifically to the XSEXbox, the excellent backwards compatibility is a *huge* factor for us and we greatly prefer the Xbox ecosystem. The PS5 will no doubt have some awesome exclusives so just like PS4 that's what we'll have it for, but the Xbox and PC will remain our primary/secondary platforms.

I've played a handful of games with Gamepass on PC utilizing 3 months for $1. It's been a good experience, but not something I would pay for without a major discount. I would pay full price for a month or two if a few good exclusives popped up. I mainly play on PS nowadays and PC.

Not me. I'm probably going with PS5 and PC. That way I can access all the games in the market.

I already own a Switch so I won't miss out on those games either.

Nope. Why bother with Xbox when I can pretty much get the same content on PC.

I have PC, X, Pro and switch this gen and will likely do the same next gen, not all at once but as each gets a good amount of must play games.

The whole argument about PC being a replacement for xbox doesn't hold up, if nothing else because of the terrible state of HDR on PC.

I do get why people who only want one console would go PS or switch + PC , makes more sense that xbox + PC thats for sure.

I just think it make more sense to enjoy all the games where they play the best.

I would like to know if you will be buying the Xbox Series X in November even though you have a decent Gaming PC. Since all future Xbox Games are coming to PC too, there is actually no need to buy a XsX console. Is it because of Gamepass? Cross-Buy/Smart Delivery? Power? Do you want to start a game on PC and play it later on the couch? Please explain it to me, since I cant understand why you wouldn't buy a PS5 instead to enjoy both platforms.

For me it's because I don't want to spend at least twice as much for the same graphics and because there are plenty of games on Game Pass that are console only and vice versa so I will need both platforms. My plan is to get XSX and skim by with my 1660ti then upgrade the PC next year some time when I can get something significantly stronger than XSX for $1500 or less. Getting a PS5 as well, of course.

Also, I care a lot about portability. Find me a PC with the same form factor and the same power for $500. Not this year. It's a small sexy tower that will hummm.

I wish we can install Windows10 on the Xbox. It even looks like a corsair one desktops.

But comes with amazing value even if they sell it for 800$ or something. Microsoft should consider selling it as a PC. I think it will sell in millions. May be have dual boot where we can select if we want to use it as a PC with windows 10 or Xbox for gaming. It will serve both purpose.

But I have to get a PC I simply see no value with Xbox

It's funny how alot of people here think their pc is as powerful as an XSX. RDNA 2 features with ssd capable of streaming textures is far ahead of most PC's out now.

i use my pc to play games that are not available on consoles (there are multiple interesting pc games that are not available on xbox and PS4). In addition, I use my pc for VR gaming, but this is more a gimmick to me, interesting and with lots of potential but still a gimmick.
