This is on a stupid system. If every other key provider can make it pain free to access their keys that they purchased then cdkeys.com needs to get with the times and do it too. That’s on them.

The email address in my account was correct and the email address in my PayPal account was also correct.

This cant be true they cant just fabricate an email address that you own. You made a mistake. You were essentially trying to login to an account that didnt exist because it was on another email. This would have been pain free if you had given them the correct email from the beginning.

cdkeys are a very well known reseller of cheap keys...why aren't publishers/developers trying to shut them down?

How would they shut them down? By getting rid of boxed sales outside of the U.S.? They already region-lock keys from the cheapest regions (Russia and South America). They also region-lock keys from Asia, the Middle-East and Africa. Some publishers region-lock Europe as well.

Cdkeys isn't doing anything illegal so publishers have no legal grounds to shut them down.

If publishers shut down stuff like CD Keys and GMG I would certainly buy a lot less new games. I am buying less stuff these days as I am not a big fan of the Games as a Service model for a a lot of genres.

Had three preorders there (F1 2016, BF1 and F1 2017). All worked great. When the price for F1 2017 gone down after I preordered, they cancelled my preorder within minutes so I could just reorder it.

Always received my key a few days before launch so I could preload without problems.

Final update!

They finally got my keycode sent and I am now downloading Wolfenstein!

That still doesn't change my criticism that this whole ordeal was unnecessary and could have easily been avoided if they had used a more modern system.

Its done and I am ready to start playing this masterpiece known as Wolfenstein New Colossus.
