I lived on 2nd twice, and bottom floor 0. And well either the floors were really thin and sound went through well or they just like to bitch cause they were those types. But man if ever going to another apt trying to get ground floor for.
I'd rather not have to worry about annoying my neighbors so I would prefer the bottom floor. Also if it's a 2-3 story building then there's no elevator so moving furniture up a staircase would suck. A friend of mine got a noise complaint from the girls living below him and sent them some flowers with an apology card though so I guess being on the top floor might open you up to some opportunities.
I've always lived on a top floor. it feels like you own the building in a way, lol. HOWEVER, my neighbor got robbed three times so i'm not sure it's always a deterrent.
No shit, what floor? Did they think it was a neighbor below? I'm sure my downstairs neighbor could get up on my balcony if he wanted, but he'd have to take the chance that the railing holds his weight. I leave my back door open when I'm out cuz you'd have to be really desperate to climb up here, and someone passing by would likely see.
The only negative with top floor is that it tends to be much warmer. This sucks balls if you live somewhere that is constantly hot. But security+nobody above you is win.
