For me its pretty bad i have 20gigs of just metal. But some of my friends barely have 10 gigs of music, im sure they would love it.dskillzhtown said:Maybe for you, but for someone that doesn't need every single song they have on their PC, it can be a good size.

Speaking as someone who had 3G support, and then lost it when I switched to my work phone...you should wait it out.White Man said:I'm REALLY tempted to get an iPhone now, but I'll hold out for 3G. Oh heck, bonus is next week, maybe I will.
What the hell? Just get the iPhone.White Man said:The new Nanos are hot, but can I resist the conversation piece value of the touch?

3G makes life so much better, not to mention that the next revision will come with more than just 3G support.
Ginko said:I wasn't referring to that specifically, I was more worried about the fact that they make their clients regret buying an iPod/iPhone, since they'll release a better/cheaper one right after, like what they're doing now. They slammed Vista for having several SKUs, while they do an even worse thing by cutting prices and releasing better versions too early.

A company doesn't drop the price of something this much so soon if it's doing well.
And I think the iPod Touch is going to take potential iPhone sales.

That's the plan, I'm just curious.Kung Fu Jedi said:Um...why? Just get the damn touch.
Actually it does. It's true that this is a major iPod upgrade, a new iPod to be accurate. But when do you think we will see a new iPod with a bigger drive? Soon I bet you, and I'll be pissed if I bought the 16GB iPod Touch.Kung Fu Jedi said:You do realize how long it's been since a true update to the iPods right? Your argument really doesn't hold water.

However, on the iPhone side, it holds water perfectly, when was the iPhone released? A couple of monthes ago, and now we see a 200$ price cut. Now tell me that doesn't piss you off as an iPhone owner?
Killthee said:I don't think this messes up the "generation" distinction, they've done this before. They did it when they introduced the iPod photo, killed it, and relaunched it as the 4G iPod with color. It wouldn't surprise me if they kill the classic line and the touch line as soon as they can cram 60GB into the Touch without killing the battery or rocketing the price and then relaunch the Touch as the new gen flagship iPod.

Fuck you, I spent $600 on a PS3 so I have the right to whine about it all I wish. In fact it's about the only real pleasure the damn thing gives me.krypt0nian said:Between this (read: any) Apple thread and his PS3 whining, this is the best option.
As if your original post was a brilliantly conceived work of rhetoric? "They dropped the price, it must be a failure!"omg rite said:You put up a good argument. Very well thought out.

Kung Fu Jedi said:First of all, it's been over a year since the last iPod updates, so I don't think you'll see memory bumps again any time soon. Certainly not before the holidays. I'd say Spring 2008 at the earliest. That I could live with if I were buying a new piece of hardware now. Besides, everyone knows that hardware upgrades are inevitable. Apple doesn't make them that often however.
As for the iPhone, in case you haven't been reading any of my posts, I've already said multiple times, that I'm pissed. It's a joke that they burned early adopters that badly. It's not like Apple to do this generally, and look how long it typically has taken them to cut the price on iPods. A price cut was going to happen at some point, as will hardware upgrades, but THIS SOON, and THIS MUCH, is a pretty tough to take.
And your Vista argument still doesn't make sense. The slamming against Vista was for the fact that there were so many different versions, at so many different prices points, that it was tough to choose the one that was right for consumers. That isn't the case with the iPods or even the iPhone. It's pretty simple to tell them all apart, and select the one that is right for you, with size, features, and price clearly defined. Sorry you don't get that.
