After looking at them, I still don't understand people who watch videos on an X display... you either have a notch or a smaller screen than your paying for.
The "upgrade" isn't much, nor is it worth $1000.... And $749 for the XR when it could have been $500 easily, seems way too excessive, especially with other phones being a lot less than these phones and being almost the same it confuses me.
I love how the
budget model is still 449 bucks. For an Iphone 7.
Why the heck would i ever need a 450 euro phone?
To put in perspective, and consider me an edge case: My first phone, and Android 4.2 device, i bought for 90 euros. That's right, 90. Sure, i had a low res screen, but it was as large as the biggest Iphone and it did everything i wanted. 2.5 years later it finally wore down (And i am very careful with my hardware.. its why stuff lasts as long as it does) and i had to look for another one.
I found a Wileyfox Spark+ with Cyanogenmod, and paid 100 for it. New, that is. I went from 32 bit to 64 cores and to an actual modern OpenGLES 3 based GPU with a 720p screen. Runs PUBG like a champ and i can do everything with it. Wileyfox had the extra advantage that it supports their hardware pretty good. I went from Cyanogen Android 6.0 to 6.1, and then i got an update to Android 7, customized. Got some patches for that aswell but for now i am on Android 7. And you know? That's fine. The fact that Wileyfox is the only budget manufacturer in my country that does upgrade paths for their machines is what threw me into buying it.
Now Apple has legendary support, but the prices they ask - Completely utterly insane. And that's without Itunes.
An Android is easily similar to the
it just works mentality, for everyone but the elderly.* Heck, i reckon an Android is even more versatile since it plays nicely with Windows. Not on a Iphone where you need Itunes to do literally
anything.
*The Elderly
love Apple hardware because it literally does everything for them.
So clearly, im an Android man, and i dont hold anyone against it for wanting to go with Apple. They are beautiful machines, pristine, it just works.. and their camera's are pretty amazing. If there is one thing i like about Iphones, its their camera. But they are also
premium items, and i prefer to tinker with my OS without having to rely on a master program. I can do that with Android, i plug it in Windows and it works. I can't do that with Apple, nor am i willing to shell out 450 euros at minimum to do what i want to do with it and no, superslowmo is not a thing i find worthy of that money. Let alone having SD card support.
That isnt to say Android is flawless either - I absolutely despise the shared memory system they introduced in 7. Either make your SDcard like your internal memory but it won't be seeable in Windows nor useable without reformating. That and the inability to move things to SD is completely moronic. I don't want to merge my SD card with the internal memory, but because i don't want to do that, i am
punished by not being able to move stuff over to SD card. Which is completely stupid in my opinion. If anyone knows of a carefree non-rootable way to push shit to SD, please let me know.
Reminds me of the note 9. A beast phone, the best one out there, but just not a big enough leap from last years model to pay the huge price tag. If you are rocking a 2 or 3 year old Iphone then jump in, but if you have last years model I don't see anything enticing to pay 1000+ or whatever.
Also 64GB? Thats lame for the Max. Its supposed to be a premium top of the line phone and they can't even give you 128 GB as entry. Its like buying a Maserati and it coming with cloth seating. I get it for the other phones you want a cheap entry point, but for your most expensive line class it up a bit.
The only thing that I like is that apple has the biggest screen out there since I like big phones.
I found that highly entertaining. You have multiple 256 GB phones now, even 512 GB... but their top end is just 64 GB. And you cant extend that space either because hey, why provide SD card support amirite. Or a 3.5mm jack. Iphones are literally interactive jewelry, its a
statement piece.
And sorry, i don't buy phones to make
statements.
Yeop, that's the dumbest part. It's literally just impulsive spending.
I forgot to mention that she bought an Iphone 8 last year, replacing an Iphone 6 that still worked perfectly. And she's already considering an Iphone XS just for those reasons alone. Its absolutely nuts. Why the F do a cheezy upgrade from Iphone 6 to 8 and then are considering to replace that 8 again
within the year.
Add in that she also had her HP Envy Windows 10 replaced with a Macbook Pro i believe. Its crazy.
It does not hold for every Apple user out there obviously but that is an textbook case of Elitism and Insecurity.
