Did you just enabled it? When I did it took a while for some odd reason to update. Even if I went to the weather app the "local" one took a while to get all it's data. After that it worked fine though.

No, it had been enabled, it only showed twice and literally for a second. I restarted the phone. Working now :)

that "weather and stock information provided by yahoo" is surprisingly annoying.. lol. I know thats a stupid complaint..but with everything else looking so clean.

Yep. They basically stuck the finger to current iPhone5 owners too since they essentially killed the resale value.

I would think since the 5's not sticking around and there is no black 5C / some people might prefer the metal look to the white plastic that the 5's resale value would remain pretty good. Especially when current stock runs out. Might actually go up if you have one in really good condition.

I don't understand this. When I Updated (not restored) from iOS6 to iOS7 GM all my apps where there the whole process took like 5 minutes.

I don't understand either. But for some reason it didn't work. Maybe I kicked it out of sync again like last time when I accidentally tapped the "Restore from iCloud" on the phone then noticed it was asking me to do it on the computer and did it there too instead. I mean it was a "restore", not an "update" in that it had to delete the device's files and data and start fresh from a brand new phone.

I am updating my iPad now so I'll do it the other way and see if it puts my apps back. If not, I took screenshots of all my apps and folders and transferred them to my computer to make sure it gets back to what it was.

I'm really loving it on my phone. But is there still a way to do panoramic wallpapers? I can't seem to figure it out anymore. Did they remove it?

I had to do a double take at the 5C off-contract price. That's not a cheap phone by any stretch of the imagination.
The 5 resale value will increase since it is off the market, and the version that would replace it is plastic. I know people in China trying to gobble up remaining inventory in Apple Stores because there will be no more.

Nope. The apps don't download automatically. Doesn't make sense. The backup stores which ones are installed and where they are. Why isn't it downloading them for me?

Time to visit the store and download them manually again. Such is the life of a Gold Master player.

i'm excited. even though iphone 5S is using the new 64 bit processor. it means the new ipad will probably sport at least 4GB of memory.

Eh, I highly doubt the iPad 5 will use 4GB of RAM, since the 5S will use 1GB of RAM most likely. However, it'll probably be upgraded from LPDDR2 to LPDDR3.

Comedy gold, is what it is. Holy shit.

iPhone 3.0 event today
Event ended a moment ago. Bottom line: a yawn. RIMM, PALM and others can sleep safely tonight.

Here are two of the highlights:
1. In one of the demos, the guy on stage was unable to spell correctly while typing on an iPhone. And he was an American, presumably educated, and an experienced iPhone user.
2. They highlighted a new app where the theme is "virtual play date for dogs" in which you can buy virtual sweaters (!) for dogs (!!) for some $0.99 each. Then watch these cartoon dogs "play" with each other. It is becoming easier every day to understand why over 60 million Americans voted for Obama. In related news: George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison are rolling over in their graves.

General George Patton would have sent these people to the front.

He sounds like a peach.

That's the iPad Mini A1455 US CDMA/International GSM firmware. If that's the model you have then the download was corrupted, otherwise you got the wrong firmware build.

Ah, thank you. Yeah wouldn't surprise me if the download was corrupted, it did take hours and hours.

Oh wow, that shit download that took forever last night was 10 megs short. ><

RIMM and PALM? Who? Are they even relevant? Obviously a joke. The writer was a fanboy who couldn't keep his blatant fanboyism under control.

Not now they aren't, but back in 2009 when that article was written they were. Still doesn't change the fact that the article is stupid.

As for me, I put 7 on my Mini this morning and it runs fantastic. Not going to bother putting it on my wife's (soon to be) 4S since I have it jailbroken and don't want to give up Nitrous (since Facebook runs like shit without it).

Not even going to bother putting it on our 4, since that's just going to be my son's keep him occupied phone.

It's really weird. I didn't try any of the betas so this is my first hands on.

Man. 2009. Feels like it was yesterday but goddamn it was 4 years ago! FOUR YEARS. Wow.

I am loving iOS 7. I really like the iPad version of Reminders. Really wish the Mavericks one looked like it. (It's still stuck on 10.8 version. A lot of Mavericks is still outdated.)

Hmm, interesting..

So when you use the home button, an app minimizes into its icon. But when you use the five finger pinch close gesture it minimizes to the center like it always before... gross.

Probably just a bug and will be fixed. I can't believe those icons made it to retail though. I thought they were designed by the marketing department and Ive was going to switch them before the GM?!

Mine too. Well, I installed an early beta and I couldn't use the Podcast app (a must for me) so I went back to iOS6 until yesterday. I love it so far. I have been using iTunes Radio all day. If I play in the music app too much in the Radio tab it crashes. Like goes to black screen with Apple logo, then after a few seconds back to lock screen.

I dislike the fullscreen notification center. I was so sure the osx swipe to the left to reveal a little layer underneath would make its way to iOS. Also dislike the home screen having its own page on the "card" layer.

I don't understand why it doesn't automatically just go back to the Home screen when you close the last opened app.

Moving the bookmarks to the right-hand side of the address bar is a dick move

Right but it seems extremely counter intuitive to only swipe left to reveal timestamps, to me you should swipe in either direciton to reveal timestamps for either side.
