Are you going to buy PS4 Pro?

I'll have to see how much improvement games have outside of 4K.

If I can get guaranteed 1080/60 out of games like God of War, Horizon, the next ND game (aka PS exclusives) it might be worth it on it's own.

I've already made the move to PC as my primary platform so there really isn't much of a reason for me to jump into a Pro at launch. I really don't see myself even owning a 4K TV for another 2 years minimum.

The lack of 4K blu Ray support is a huge turn off. I don't have a 4K tv yet but I would want to take full advantage of one if I did buy one.
If GameStop decides to have some trade in program for it, I'd trade one of my ps4s for a pro.

After watching the mass effect clip and the ps4 sizzle real in 4k or whatever res they are running Its a big jump as far as I'm concerned. DAY ONE CERNY.
Lack of a uhd drive is really puzzling from Sony though! I already have one but from a selling point I can't see why they would not want it included. Push 4k and hdr but wait a minute those 4k DISKS ain't working. WTF

Not gonna give up my MGS 5 PS4 for a minor spec bump. I had hoped that the rumours (and the reaction to them) would make Sony amp up the specs, especially considering those of the Xbox Scorpio. Oh well...

To be quite honest I think anybody looking at a HUGE visual upgrade for both consoles should temper them a bit.

Yes based on what we know of Scorpio it has better specs even though the console doesn't exist yet. That said it's going to be tough to showcase these machines because at least in the short term there will be no exclusive to take advantage of it.

All the software is still married to the OG models. All games are built with the base console in mind. So even with a Scorpio game personally I wouldn't expect it to look radically different than the base XB1 game. It'll look better no doubt.

Look at the Horizon Pro footage. Looks fucking amazing, but footage for Horizon on OG PS4 looks great as well. The pro footage just looks better, but nothing too radical.

I really want to but the fact that it might be outpaced by Scorpio by a margin as wide as OG PS4 makes me wonder if it would be a worthwhile investment aside from exclusives...

It's the price that saves it.

I don't had a 4K TV yet, I'm buying one next December so I can't justify buying the Pro now. I'll grab a Pro and Scorpio next year.

Nope. I wanted a UHD brays player that can also play games. Weird, but Sony's announcement sold me in getting an One S Xbox.

Pre-ordered.

I don't really buy blu-rays so no UHD player isn't a big deal for me.

I don't even have a 4KTV, but I do want the best version of FFXV/TLG/Horizon/whatever else possible.

I wasn't convinced that I have to upgrade.
I'd rather buy an NX, since I skipped the WiiU.

The NX isn't supposed to be backwards compatible I thought.

Absolutely. It's the best PS4 on the market when it releases. No way I'll play my PS games on a inferior system. Also buying Scorpio day one.

Now you're playing with power.

Lack of 4K blu-ray doesn't matter. 4K TV won't probably appear on my TV stand for a while. Waiting for price drops on OLED TV:s.

Hell no lol.

I was waiting on this before dipping my toes in the PS4 library, but now I'm going to grab the slim and run that with the Xbox One S.

Buying a Slim for Persona 5, Yakuza 6, and FF15, then going back to my PC.
No reason to buy a box that plays multiplats a little better when I have my PC to do that. Hopefully the PS5 has some more juice in it.

Lmao - you do realise without a 4K TV you will never be playing the best version of those games you listed.

A 4K TV should be higher on your list if you already have a PS4

Depends on what you prefer. It seems that games will run better if played on 1080 and not 4K. 60 FPS at 1080 or 30 at 4K.

I pre-ordered just because I like getting in on the hype on day 1. If it had an ultrahd bluray drive in it, I'd probably keep the order. Likely will cancel it, sell it at cost to a friend, or craigslist it depending on how things go. Maybe a surprise Ultra HD Blu-ray Playback by firmware announcement will happen!

Maybe, I need a PS4 for Bloodborne, Spidey, Nioh and Persona. The question is if I have a 4K TV when the bulk of the PS4 games I want to play are released.

If there's a Horizon bundle next year, probably then.

Got PSVR in October, and while I will definitely be getting a Pro, it isn't a Day 1 or pre-order for me.

Doubt it.

I've barely used my PS4 to be honest and I'm really disappointed with this gen. Can't see myself wanting to pay an extra couple of hundred £££ for something I won't use much.

I've got a PC anyway. I'd rather upgrade that when I feel the need to jump to 4k.

I own a PS4, X1, Wii U, and gaming rig (i7, GTX 1060). I'm passing. Scorpio I'm in for, because UHD Blu and faster X360 emulation (and hey, stuff like 1080p 60fps upgrades for games like Sunset Overdrive is something I'd like to imagine happening...but I'm not counting on it).

I'm normally a sucker for the high end and love a new gadget but Sony's pitch isn't very persuasive. I'm not convinced this is anything more than a mid-gen attempt to monetise their userbase who already bought their initial console. Maybe when I see some side-by-side comparisons I might be swayed. I'll see what DF has to say about it but right now it's a "no" from me.

Pre-order in with Amazon UK. My current OG PS4 has served me well but it's getting on 3 years old and is rather loud. I've got a 4K TV, I stream my content from Netflix etc, I don't like clutter so the commission of the uhd Blu-ray drive means nothing to me. I'm just in it for the better looking games and the better performance, plus I'm a sucker for new hardware. I'm excited to get my hands on it.

Nah, I'm out.
Never owned a PS4 before, but if I do I'll be picking up the OG matte version.
The power consumption on the Pro is ridiculous.

Definitely not this year. Probably not next year either. Unless Persona 5 sees massive benefits.

I don't currently use my PS4 enough to truly warrant spending more on it.

Might be just as good to hold off for the PS5.

No. I have been an multiplatform gamer for a lot of years and the idea of upgrading every console I have is crazy to me.

I'll just keep upgrading my PC and that's all.

I'm not sure...

I'm serouisly not interested in 4K... like literally zero.

It all depends on FFXV performance... if there was a noticeable undeniable difference on 1080p between PS4 and Pro... then yes I will get the console day 1.

But if it wasn't that big of a difference then I'm sticking with my PS4 till PS5.

I rather spend that 400$ on something else.
