Are you keeping your current gen console(s)?

Keeping my Wii for the definitive version of Shattered Memories and the Klonoa remake. Keeping my 360 so that I can still play all my OG Xbox games and Alan Wake. Keeping my PS3 because the PS4 isn't backwards compatible and I have a lot of games for the system.

I'm a collector of games, I never sell them. Plus I grew up poor and in a bad neighborhood, gaming was the only hobby I had.

When my mom gave away my NES and all my games to a new parent I felt so sad. Still do to this day. So I kept everything going forward for memories.

Eventually when I have enough money I'll rebuy an NES too just to have one again.

I probably should sell or trade-in my XB360 and games and use that money or credit towards purchasing a next-gen console, but with no backwards compatibility with discs I'm not sure if I want to.

Keeping PS3 because of huge backlog, ps +, and the disc laser needs to be fixed to enjoy those anyway. Will hold on to Wii until I get a Wii U. Its days are numbered.

Yes.

The only way I would have considered selling them is if the PS4/One would have had full BC. There are still a lot of games on the PS3/360 that I've yet to play, and many I already have that I can see myself playing for a long time to come.

Yes although I have no idea why I am keeping my X360

I guess crackdown's good fun

PS3 has a lot of games I want to replay and some I have yet to play

I'd have sold them already if there was any semblance of BC for the next-gen systems. But no, so I have to hold onto them, if only for upcoming games and any I've missed. And for digital libraries, since no purchases carry over to the new systems, as stupid as that is. (i.e. not like Steam's digital library)

Plus, the gaming field will be a desert on those systems until the gaming releases get rolling more steadily a year or more after launch. So it's a perfect time to play catch up for the next year. On PS3 especially, since that system isn't dying anytime soon. I still have games I'm looking forward to in 2014.

I'm going to be keeping my ps3 because there's still upcoming games I want to play like Drakengard 3 and Gundam Vs Extreme Full Boost. I don't want to use up my internet for gaikai.

Yep. I wouldn't if the next gen consoles were backwards compatible.

Have no interest in streaming games. The possible lag will always be a turnoff for me.

I neve undstand peoples' rush to get the newest, its not as if the current becomes incomplete.
It really does though.

Beyond Two Souls was the last release on PS3 I'm going to play until Lightning Returns, and PS4 is out much sooner. Current-gen basically ended for me yesterday. A hard stopping point. Beyond that, it's just cleaning up various things I missed and straggling releases.

In that sense, this is the perfect console transition. Everything being cross platform means I can put the PS3 away today, pick up the PS4 in a month with Killzone, because it's the next release I want to play.

No BC means yes, I'm keeping them. They'll probably go into the loft but I'll keep them. Already cut my titles down to the bare minimum of what I think I'll actually ever want to play again, though.

Edit: Apart from the Wii. I have a Gamecube and a Wii U, so no need to keep that. I'm giving it to my nephews.

Yyyyyup.

I have all my old consoles too. Just replaced the battery in my Dreamcast so tot stops asking me to set the time every time I switch it on.

You're lucky then. Nothing in the launch window appeals to me and the games I want for PS4 likely won't hit until late 2014 at the earliest. The WiiU looks more appealing at the moment to me. And I'm a Sony fanboy.

Selling my 360 Slim, bought it last year and still don't why i did it still have the older one. But keeping my new PS3 since PS+ gave me loads of games and still more to come.

What makes you a Sony fanboy if you don't like Killzone or InFamous? Uncharted?

Even if I only wanted to play third party games, I'd still be moving over day one. Why play jaggy slideshow PS3 versions of games you can play on PS4?

EDIT: I have Journey installed ready for it to be my last PS3 game.

To everyone that has sold or plans on selling your current gen consoles what was or will be the final game you will play?

I feel like I have to give my PS3 a proper send off. I just started playing through TLOU for the third time but the moment my auction ends I will play Journey, I feel it's the proper final game. Once the credits finish rolling I will restore the system, turn it off and pack it for shipping.

I didn't keep my own PS3, sold it after TLoU. Played about 10 (exclusive) games on it and then sold it. I'm going to play Beyond at my friends house and after that I'm done with the PS3 as a platform. . Will keep my 360 for a good while though. Probably forever.

Yep, there's still games for me to play on Wii, 360 and PS3, but new consoles will obviously take most of my time.

I'm keeping mine because the PS4 won't play Gran Turismo 6 and Lightning Returns: FFXIII. At least not until the Gaikai thing goes live, even then I'd probably have to pay to play a game I've already bought.
I'm good.

Also so i can keep playing GHOSTS with my friends and family members who arent upgrading asap

For Wii it was Skyward Sword.

For 360 it was Skyrim Dragonborn DLC.

PS3 I'm not sure. Still have 10 or so in the backlog plus anything interesting that goes free on ps+ before I decide to go next gen.

I will keep them for 3 reasons

1) I still have many games i would like to play
2) I always have played older games once in a while to visit them again
3) Collection reason. I like to collect and one day i wanna look at that old console and remember the good old days :)

Yup, all three of them. Still a few PS3 games I need to play, and it will be my Bluray player that stays at my parents'... or I'll let a friend borrow it for Netflix and so I can use it when I visit :D

360 is staying around because there's so many games I still enjoy playing on it, and so many I've not yet played. I might even have to buy another one as this one doesn't read PGR4.

Keeping Wii because it's a Gamecube in 576p.(or 576i.. I can't remember)

Already got a WiiU, and have Xbone/PS4 pre-ordered... and I intend to get those day one as well... I have no idea why.

I will definitelly keep my 360. I have many friends that won't get a XBO anytime soon and I want to keep playing with them, also I have a lot of games I still need to play.
Not sure if keeping my PS3 though, Beyond is the last game I want to play but I won't sell it (not just because my disk drive is not working properly but) I will store it after I get the XBO since I only have room for 2 consoles at the same time.

Of course Im keeping my PS3. FFXHD will fit in between the holidays and Titanfall nicely. Unless it comes out close to Titanfall in which case god dammit.

The only system I've ever sold is my 360. I've kept every other system I've ever purchased, even my two PSX systems, neither of which works.

Help yeah I am keeping my 360 (over 150 games) and PS3 since neither of their successors are backwards compatible. Still trying to decide what use I have for the Wii though (just got a Wii U and I still have my GameCube). I was considering soft nodding for Homebrew... but I've never tried anything like that before and it has the current firmware so I'm not even sure if I can.

I see no reason to.

My 360 library is absolutely immense and I can't part with all those goodies. I keep my Wii around as my Netflix box and occasionally Smash Bros and Sin and Punishment.
