Assassin's Creed Origins gameplay previews

Looks pretty good. Egypt doesn't seem as interesting to explore as the huge, packed cities, but otherwise it's the most intriguing AC premise in a while. Will probably get this at some point, maybe on the PS4 since I kinda have the feeling my 970 would struggle trying to run this on higher resolutions.

(I know I'm going to sound like a broken record the way I keep bringing the conversation back to Alexandria but IDGAF :p.) Alexandria was actually not much smaller at the time than 18th-century Paris (according to estimates, there were around 500k people living in Alexandria then compared to 600k in Paris in the 18th century). But to be fair, the game version isn't quite as big as the real version and it's hard to tell how AC's Alexandria will compare to AC's Paris in terms of scale. Then again, Alexandria is not the only big city in the game so maybe that will balance things out a bit.

They said the biggest cities are slightly bigger than the cities in AC4.

Aww, weapons are level-locked? There goes my plan of sneaking into high level areas for that OP loot.

Oh yeah, sure, I really don't know anything about ancient Egypt so no doubt you're right lol. Alexandria (the biggest city in this one?) will probably satisfy my city exploration needs.

Which is a decent size.

While not as big as Paris or London it felt like they were the perfect size mixed with the open world.
My thoughts exactly. It would be a bit unrealistic for them to be as big as those. Completely different cities.

This world is just so amazing. I want to explore it badly.

I just don't know why a game like this needs to have strong language, gore, and nudity though. Strong language seems especially weird though, considerinf the time period.

The fact that there's no loading screens for them is crazy.

Fine with hearing them curse in the recreation of the older Egyptian dialect but hearing English the word bitch in the latest demo was definitely jarring. I assume they'll have nude scenes of Cleopatra, a sex scene with Bayek and his wife, or nude npcs:

It really wouldn't be that unrealistic. Like I said, Alexandria wasn't much smaller than 18th-century Paris. The main reason it's not as big in the game is that Ubisoft decided against it for practical/technical and/or game design reasons.

Damn! I love breaking games like that. :P

There is something about the transition to water in this game that is just bugging me.

Every video I've seen where they jump/dive into water, particularly when there are larger splashes just looks a bit off to me.

I could be brief framerate drops or frametime stuttering or something with the splash effect but I notice it every single time and it bugs me.

See here for an example.

Assassin's Creed: Origins Exclusive Gameplay - Memphis - Night Time/Combat/Hunting/Exploring

Night time is still looking way too bright. I mean, I get that they can't make it as dark is it would look in real life but they could make it a good deal darker than it currently is and you'd still be able to see everything well enough. Right now it just doesn't look like it's night at all.

Fantastic. Hopefully that's not all. Looks like just from a couple of vendors.

Maybe there are also outfits from treasures and/or quests.
Already been confirmed that you can find outfits in tombs and also by beating bosses in the Coliseum.

AC has always had great outfits. You can wear Anubis outfits for example.

Still best is Ezio and his Master Assassin outfit from brotherhood. That Brutus Fur coat is fucking baller no matter what timeline you stuck in...

But if i can throw on an onyx Anubis mask or a jade and gold Ra gig and then combine that ish with a piece of Eden that makes you do some godlike movement stuff... yup i might just play around in this game longer than i did Black Flag.

Thats a high water mark though... we shall see.

yeah that is super weird, looks like a giant fps drop

If they had an option to take off the mask, the Turkish Armor would be my favorite.

Yeah this bothers me a bit too. Not sure why they made the choice to have night time be so bright but it seems theyre sticking to it unfortunately

I wonder if itll look better with hdr.

Also, to think this game will probably have chocobos and ff costumes lmao. Cant wait.

Do we have confirmation we can wear this?
The trailers implied this is something higher ups from the bad guy teams wear.
It would however be my permanent outfit unless theres a pharoah costume too.

I've never played an Assassin's Creed game so I'm hoping that this is the perfect jumping on point. You don't need to have played previous games to understand the plot for this one?

They've stated many times that it's a good place to jump in.

To be fair I've only played Black Flag and Syndicate and at almost no point did I feel I was confused because I didn't play other games.
