What the hell was that?
Masterful play of Phoebe, that went nowhere because all her previous tribe members are idiots... seriously, the 3 of them... like... WTF?

Not like old Vanau are any better, voting all to the same person knowing they have an idol, that could have backfired hard. There was potential for a big flip, but oh well. Hope this tribe changes its dynamics soon, it's going to be very predictable if it keeps this trayectory.

This is probably a stupid question, but do they manipulate the voting so that the final vote always breaks the tie? It seems so convenient that it always happens that way. lol

When they go "count the votes", they just order the votes to maximize drama. Sometimes it gets revealed on the last vote sometimes before. I'm assuming they prepare also different orderings depending on if idols get played.

So the host guy already read them all before hand and just put them in an order that makes for the most drama?

Another fantastic episode

The challenges this season have been on point. I love that they're toying with concepts not done by the US team as well, but still using all the ones that work well like water basketball. That challenge should be every season because it's always fun to watch and it's always intense.

Kat leaving was amazing, although Andrew is starting to overstay his welcome. He's not the Love-To-Hate type like Nick, I just straight up hate him. You don't put ducks ina barrel. You haven't swindled people into believing you if you're being genuine. Stop acting like you're a mastermind because you're not. You are terrible and will be swiftly blindsided as soon as people are sick of your attitude (which fortunately looks to be soon.

Craig, Kate and Phoebe are my favourites but Craig has stolen the show these last few episodes. Him hinting for the Aganoans to vote Andrew was spectacular. But massive props to Kate for her challenge performances and general rationality, and for targeting Andrew and saving the good Aganoas while rightfully dumping Kate. And even massiver props to Phoebe for her idol find! After all that Craig hinting I was not expecting that so kudos to the editors, they are doing an absolutely stellar job.

I was all ready to complain about the editing in that episode as it was almost entirely focused on Vavau and Andrew, so it seemed obvious he was going home. I don't like him at all but I was happy to be surprised when Kat went instead.

Phoebe has gone up in my books, she's now at Craig/Kate tier, but I still have Matt as favourite to win.

The winner, IMO, is definitely one of:
Phoebe, Matt, Craig, or Jennah-Louise.

Completely agree. He's trying so hard to be like Brian Heidik and Russell Hantz, but so far it's been words only, no real acts to back it up whatsoever.

Man, this season is so good.

I'm pretty sure a girl wins this. All the smart strategic players seems to be girls this season.

Thank God
Andrew
is gone!

It was definitely the right move. Once the tribes merge, being in that
majority will mean nothing since it'll turn into a minority.

Brian's tribe actually liked him and only soured on him after watching their season. He was unlike Russell or Andrew who are incapable of hiding their true personality and being disliked for it.
Andrew is just a pantomime villain that's totally obvious to everybody and he does seem to be the same type of ilk as Russell. I did find it amusing how he is stalking everyone, so I think Andrew's downfall is going to be glorious since the producers are obviously setting him up as they build up his character.

I had no idea that episode 11 came out... I've not yet watched it but after episode 10
it's hardly surprising Andrew is next to go

The "I'm on a business trip" attitude is straight from Brian Heidik.

Phoebe reminds me of Lisa from BB3- the moment her Showmance gets voted out, afterburners get turned on and she's able to start actually playing without dead weight.

Apparently they're getting 1M+ viewers on the website.

Oh man, I'll probably watch this after season 33 ends to help get through what will be a grueling wait for 34.

Hopefully by then there will be a good option to stream all of the episodes in the US.

It's really, really f'n good.

Ep11, watching right now:
Of course Nick is complaining about the guy who saved his ass.

Ep11:
Thank god for that! Andrew was pathetic and keeping him would just continually make their tribe weaker in comparison to the blues. Despite the dead weight they were actually very close in the challenges, so they should have a real chance of winning one now.

Absolutely loving it.

Have watched every episode so far. And its the first time ive done that with survivor in over 5 years.
It doesnt hurt that i went to school with Nick. Its a bit surreal seeing him there. This has pretty much been his dream for as long as ive known him

Ep11
So glad Andrew is gone. He was so.. bad at metaphors.

I'm really liking the challenges so far. Well, and the season in general.

I'm curious about how the Vanau tribe is going to recompose after the main allience blew out. They are probably going to go into the merge more united than the other tribe, since looks like they aren't going to have a chance to go to tribal.

Red + Yellow alliance at the merge seems likely.

Nick: "Two days ago Matt told me that at one point he had 62 kilos of chicken nuggets
in his freezer, and nowhere to store them!" LOL

so who's conner is he new. I've never seen him before or ever again.

but is he even in this show? it's quite amusing how invisible he is lol.

Saanapu need to go to TC. I want to see their dynamics especially where Vavau and the Aganoa members fit in there.

Nooo my fave is gone.
It better not be another Vavau TC tomorrow but the chances are that it probably is going to be.

When he’s not planning Survivor domination, Craig loves to play Pokémon, do martial arts and watch good movies.

Was randomly browsing the synopsis' on survivorwiki. Can he have been any more perfect?

It's such a punch to the gut to see him gone but Phoebe is truly phenomenal here. Love her so much. There was no good loss here but I was completely expecting it to be Conner and was completely blindsided.

Another great challenge.
Wish it was more competitive
but I love the strategy aspect at the end. I say this every week but they've been absolutely nailing the challenges, cherry picking all the best ones from all of Survivor history and adding their own flair to it.

Love the camp life, love the strategy.... this season is just bliss.

p.s
Kylie stop being a whinger. Matt too. guh.

Ep12:
That was probably my favourite episode yet! There weren't really any huge shocks but it was just great fun to watch everyone thinking they were safe but knowing that an idol will be played.

At one point I thought Craig would figure out that the girls already found the idol he had looking for, and switch the votes to Christie, but their acting was quite convincing when they were told who was going home (Conner you idiot!).

Got to give props to Craig for taking it so well too. He deserved to go further but it was his own doing as Phoebe had outplayed him in finding the idol without a clue after he had already been looking for it and failed.

I'm rooting for Phoebe to win it now, as Matt keeps opening his mouth when he shoudn't.

12:
that was great. Sad to see Craig go but happy nick is getting revenge without doing anything. Only 5 men left

When do people think the merge will be?

This show is such b.s.

One team choosing how a merge works is WAY too unbalanced and has ruined this season.

Yeah, they ultimately made it worse for themselves but it just makes a strategy game very one sided.

I haven't watched the last few, but the loser team keeps on losing? Go figure. lol
Yup. But it's not like it's unprecedented even in "fairly" picked teams. Have we forgotten the Malcolm and Denise show that was Survivor Philippines. Sometimes a tribe gets on a roll and the other tribe ends up being their own worst enemy.

As far as I'm concerned the game doesn't start until the merge anyway, right now we're still getting rid of dead weight. Sannapu is gonna fracture immediately when it becomes an individual game. Can't wait.

That twist is a mess.

I really liked it.
Obviously the tribes are completely unbalanced now, but a merge must be coming in the next episode or two anyway.

The twist sets things up quite nicely. Yellow tribe is now 2 v 2 instead of the 3 v 1 if Kristie had gone home. Plus we now have the situation of Phoebe backstabbing her best friend and neither goes home. If she finds out (I imagine it won't take long) then that'll be fun.

Also, the Blue tribe don't really gain anything with that twist. Yellow lose Sue who is probably the weakest at challenges (although she did awesome holding the rope), so yellow is a stronger four than if they'd voted normally, and blue haven't gained any challenge advantage.

Ep. 13:
I thought the twist was gonna be that whoever went to observe tribal would now be on Vavau. At this point I just want the merge to happen.

Ep 13

Pretty good twist
by getting rid of the self-proclaimed "most loyal" Vavau member, making her easy pickings should Sanaapu actually lose, thus potentially negating any negative scrambling of the main 9 Sanaapu members. Or...Sue can easily join back with Jenna Louise and oust Nick.

Also, Brooke saying she's impressed by Phoebe provides an "in" for her if Phoebe is there for the merge.

I think Brooke picked the best possible person to take with her to Sanaapu

Phoebe played awesome in that episode
but that twist kinda screwed her

How has the show been ruined or is dumb? I don't get it.

there's one God awful tribe that for the last 5 episodes has gotten 90% of the screen time.

Also since the merge it has been so heavily in favour of the blue team, it ruins the integrity of the game as outwit, outplay, outlast doesn't really hold when from 18 players 1 team gets to choose a winner tribe and the loser tribe and they keep it that way for 5 votes? The merge needs to happen asap...but they are still at 14 players so it may be 2 more eliminations to go.

As far as fairness. Making controlling the merge the reward was just a dumb decision and has ruined 9 people's chances in this game. It doesn't make for great TV, and as a survivor fan I really feel really disappointed that they'd let this happen.

Also, they just screwed the worst team in survivors history even more with that last twist.

Bring on American survivor, starts this week!

Edit: also feel like, because the way they handled it we've missed out on the potential best storylines to make it to the merge (blue team is full of goats/ dumbdumbs)

I thought Barry was a horrible player but the game is full of people on the same skill level.

Yeah, I am being to harsh but I've spent over 13hours watching this show and it is not giving any payoffs .

Craig, pheobie, Rohan etc...while sue and terrible player cowen will make the merge most likely

Damn this week. Really solid episodes over all. I'm really liking all the challenges.

Also, that twist on monday's episode was really good
it's a shame that Vanau didn't win that one, it could have created some delicious drama stealing one member form the other tribe (probably golden boy Sammy).

I thought I was going to be angry about the pick your tribe twist, but to be honest, all the challeges have been very even, I don't even know how they have lost so many challenges when they have been so close to winning it several times. Though it would have been a good idea maybe doing a tribe swap in the middle? Easy to say in hindsight, at the end, they were quite balanced tribes, bt Vanauu screwed themselves over voting out Rohan and then Greg.

Looking forward to the merge, it's going to be complete chaos.

And despite Phoebe being voted out, props to her for playing such an amazing game, she did magic for some of those votes. Quite ironic that she is probably the one that we have seen with better gameplay and she is out. This game has some many variables and that's part of the fun.

I was
so not ready to lose Conner tonight. He was my favourite. Really dislike the majority alliance at the moment, especially Brooke & Flick. I hope they get taken down soon.
