I think the top 5 will look like:

1. The Social Network
2. Boyhood
3. Argo
4. 12 Years a Slave
5. Zero Dark Thirty

What is this weird tradition of spoilering the list? I don't get it.

Also - while I love the AV Club, they're way more of a go-to for TV criticism than films, anymore. As someone already pointed out - the good stuff picked up and bailed to the Dissolve and other outlets awhile ago.

Drive top 25? I love that movie but I know how polarizing it is.

I'd put Django top 10 or 20 as well.

I liked Haywire a fair amount, but putting it on a top 100 list for a five year span seems pretty questionable. If a less well regarded director made the same exact film it would not be on the list.

I can take solace in the fact that there is four years and change for Room 237 to get knocked off this list. Such a shit movie.

If Drive makes top 20 I will call this the best list ever.

I bet it will.

Hell, this is now the game for the rest of the thread - based on what the bottom 50 looks like, try to guess what the AV Club sewing circle will have chosen for the top 10 films of this decade (so far)

really?

everyone and their mother loves Drive

it's a great film but people talking of it as some small-ish unknown thing are weird

of course it'll be there, and it wont automatically make the list good; every list will have it

I don't even have a clue what'll be #1. I'd pick Nebraska or Birdman, but I bet it'll be something else. Hopefully Nebraska even makes the list; loved that film.

I never knew the social network was so highly thought of, I remember watching and enjoying the movie but it didn't strike me as anything special.

Films I'm betting will show up in their top 20 somewhere.

Social Network
Tree of Life
Whiplash
The Master
Let the Right One In
Zero Dark Thirty
Grand Budapest
Django Unchained
Four Lions
Her
Nebraska
Birdman
Moon
In the Loop
Wolf of Wall Street
Drive
Holy Motors

HK-47

That's a very good list...but LTROI and Moon were '08 and '09. Both great movies though.
