Avengers: Infinity War - SDCC Footage (Potato Quality)

I'm not crazy when I think they're bringing things in from not-just-Infinity-Gauntlet, right?

I'm not crazy when I'm seeing the Black Order in the poster, right?

Infinity war with a plot of Thanos destroying trillions of life forms with the only motivation of "notice me hela-senpai" could be obliterated by the critic. Even Marvel is not that crazy.

After reading the plot behind the Infinity Gauntlet, I have no fucking idea how they will even incorporate all that bat shit crazy sequences in Infinity War. Thanos with Infinity Gauntlet was untouchable. Killing half universe within a second. Like seriously, the power is crazy af and I am actually more hyped to see how Marvel deals with this all in Avengers.

I mean comic book movies have long nerfed its heroes and villains. They'll just do the same with the Infinity Gauntlet.

Yeah they already revealed The Black Order is in the movie at D23. This is going to be a hybrid of Infinity Gauntlet and Hickman's Infinity. The motivation of the former with the characters and action of the latter (Black Dwarf invasion of Wakanda, Ebony Maw vs Doctor Strange etc)

Pretty sure he mentioned in Civil War that the stone is what gives him life.

Honestly he's probably the most likely victim to show Thanos' brutality, and they can always bring him back later because, you know, robot.

He said he doesn’t know hat the gem does, but can use it.

In the Thanos Quest comic there a lot of people who wesr the gems on their forehead, but barely scrstch the surface of it’s power. Vision is not a robot, he is a Synthezoid, he has synthetic human organs so he doesn’t need the stone to live. Maybe the stone only helped create his brain combined with Thor’s lightning, this is comics they can write around it a million times.

That's part of it. But in Thanos Quest he was brought back by Death to restore balance to the universe, and that meant killing half of it. He figured out the quickest way to do that was the infinity gems. So, he does what he was chosen to do, but also might impress Death.

Gunn has already confirmed that Adam won't appear before Vol. 3.

Adam Warlock won't happen until Guardians 3, I don't think he will be involved in Infinity War/Gauntlet at all.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Celestials appear to stop Thanos in Avengers 4 once he gets the gauntlet and balance the scales a little in the heroes' favor.
Shame about Adam Warlock. I want to see how they deal with him in MCU.

It sucks that the film universe is so divided. No Silver Surfer or X-Men. Doctor Doom would be cool as well.

The Infinity Gems pack a lot of power. Has there ever been a hint on what they can do in the MCU? Do they achieve the same power for Time, Space etc? Or are the powers simply gimped version of the comic book version?

Think it's these things from Infinity

Shame what's happened to the MCU Inhumans. Could've got that scene of Black Bolt whispering that thing's arm off.

Oh, you are a true friendo. I'm going to re-read those this evening. With a glass of Cabernet. And headphones.

Anyone with Marvel Unlimited that hasn't done so already, should.

Truly, I really missed this news.

I hope Hela doesn't replace Death, but that would be a total MCU move.

Hela is the Goddess of Death, it makes zero sense to introduce another entity called Death who wouldn't even be interacting with the rest of the cast. It's absolutely the kind of thing that works in the comics but needs streamlining for movies.

You can have her be a nihilist that doesn't believe in Death, and have Desth come and claim her at the end of the movie, showing even she answers to a higher power.

Having Thanos court that power leapfrogs Hela's place in the MCU and raises the stakes considerably. Having him trying to impress the villain of Thor 3 is just lame, unless she is proven to be a power beyond reckoning in Ragnarok. Still, Thanos would be seen as a underling of another villain, and thst isn't a great plsce to start things off.

I would have loved if he was balancing the universe because the heroes messed with cosmic entities/forces of nature.

But Marvel doesn't have Galactus and haven't really set that up anywhere else, so ah well.

yes, the MCU is smart enough to economize their characters...

it doesn't make sense to introduce a new 'Death as a concept' after spending a whole movie just 1 year prior building up Hela, Goddess of Death played by a multiple academy award winning actress

I have the same motivation as Thanos.

if that's the case, i'm on thanos side.

Big Wakanda invasion makes me think it's home to the final stone. Only other recognisable action on Earth is where Wanda is, potentially being Vision's location.

I'm kind of thinking that Hela is death and that Thanos makes a surprise appearance at the end of Thor and helps Hela destroy Asgard, stranding Thor in space which is where the Guardians find him.

Reading the comics right now, I thought she was just a figment of his imagination.

Also is it ever really explained why Tanos is so powerful?

He's the most powerful Eternal (who are very powerful anyway) and after his first resurrection by Death she greatly augmented his powers even more.
