That's how every major award ceremonies work. Is the Academy supposed to watch and judge the several thousands of movies that are released every year? Same for games. What you're asking for is ridiculous. If a publisher thinks some of their games is worthy of an award they should at least submit it for consideration. Rockstar didn't give a single fuck.

Can't be quoted enough - it's all very well complaining that you're favourite game isn't on the list - but if a publisher doesn't put it forward then it can't be considered for the award. You can't expect these bodies to play every game released just to appease people with niche tastes.

Ugh, I hate that since Call of Duty sold a lot of copies and is very popular, it gets an insane amount of nominations. I just hope to God that it doesn't win any, because it would be a real slap to the face of the other games in the respective categories.
