I would back of it was coming to PS4..oh well.
How about no, let them do what they want?
They have a story to finish and feel it would suck if they couldn't offer the ending they have envisioned for fans who HAVE bought and played the two previous games.Whyyyyyyyy?
If lackluster sales of TB2 weren't an official telling, why the hell would you want to do a third sequel to which no one wants to buy at this time?
Do another genre.
It's a great system for feedback, keeping the community involved and spreading the word.
Banner Saga 2 didn't have a KickStarter and went by largely unnoticed. I think that's why they decided to take the Kickstarter route again.
are we still kickstarting games in 2017?
they released 2 full titles and still want crowdfunding?
My thoughts exactly. They should have enough information about how well a third game will do.are we still kickstarting games in 2017?

I mean you literally provide a legitimate reason why they wouldn't have had an interest in GOG at the time yet still hold it against them. Their current campaign also says keys for PC/Mac from Steam or GOG on every tier, so it's not like it's even an issue now. Seems rather petty.

Does anyone know what happens to the original backers who pledged for the whole trilogy? Are they included in this Kickstarter or is the original reward dismissed because of this new Kickstarter?
The majority of kickstarter threads feature glaring misconceptions about Kickstarter, yes. It's pretty bizarre to have several people saying that they should cancel the game instead of kickstarting it.
I didn't buy it because I didn't like the 1st game. The battles weren't to my liking and I'm a big SRPG fan.
I thought the presentation and story were fine.

I don't see why they wouldn't keep their word - they gave us all copies of #2.
I've backed this for $20 anyway, just to show support - I'll give the spare copy to a friend or something.
Banner Saga 1 was amazing, 2 went under the radar because of no exposure. Hopefully this will create enough waves to fund it and keep the studio floated to start work on their next game - they've got talent, they deserve to keep making games.
$200K is worth funding for the Austin Wintory album alone. <3
Didn't one of the company founders release a statement a few weeks ago saying that they felt like BS2 was overlooked in part because it looked similar to the first game and plenty of people hadn't had a chance to actually play the first, so weren't interested in buying the second? With that in consideration, rushing straight into BS3 seems like a pretty bad idea. I'm not sure how many people will want to support the third similar-looking game when its two predecessors have released in the last three years (one year if you're a console gamer).
Whyyyyyyyy?

It was marketed as a trilogy from the start, and backers over $50 were promised all three games. They want to finish what they started. Nothing wrong with that. I would assume that 200k is the minimum they need to do that and brake even. Otherwise from the sound of things it will be a struggle and real burden on them financially to finish the game.
I'd throw in money for a single copy that I can gift to a friends and then some posters as add-on. The Backer one they sent out back in 2013 was seriously amazing:
I got that same poster, but it got damaged because the room I was in at the time had damp.
Would love a replacement that I could get framed.
Oh well![]()

Or do this, the planned trilogy, do the game they want to do, and use this as a way to make it feasible even if it doesn't sell tons.
Finding a way to be able to make a game that might only sell about 100k copies and yet doesn't sink a studio, is a good thing for us all.
What about the people who'd like to see the story finished? That's my thinking, too. If they didn't make enough profit from 1 and 2 to fund 3... maybe they should take the hint.
Really?
Apparently despite not being interested I have already paid for this lol
FOR OUR NEW BACKERS: Early on in the campaign we changed the prizes so that anyone who pledges $50 and up will receive all three parts of the trilogy: the full game! It's our thanks for helping us achieve our goal so quickly.
You should write or contact them about it. They still have the source file probably.
What the hell are they doing? After the 2nd bombed, why so soon?
Indies have to learn that, they fill a specific gameplay niche that gamers crave, which results in a kickstarter success (or not if gamers did not crave it). As soon as this is filled, they should develop another franchise, with different mechanics. Ex: Supergiant games
Not a bad idea.
I've sent them a message asking if I will be able to get a poster as an add-on rather than backing at the $100 level, so let's see.
Brought the first 2 on PS4
*looks down, see's no confirmation of the finale on the platform they put it on that i got.*

Jesus still haven't played the original!
For our original trilogy backers: If you've already backed the Trilogy via the Banner Saga 1 Kickstarter (at the $50+ level), we'll send you a digital download of Banner Saga 3 when it launches.
Or if you would like to join in the Banner Saga 3 campaign, make your pledge and we'll make sure you have an extra $20 credit in PledgeManager after the campaign ends. You'll end up with an extra key for Banner Saga 3, which you can share with a friend, as well as the $20 credit to use however you see fit on extra prizes and goods!
I'd love to hear their response, this is the exact point that I'm at. Would you be so kind as to post it here or PM me? Thanks!

Banner Saga 2 came out in April of last year. I'd imagine they'd like to move on to their next project. Makes sense to try to finish the trilogy they promised first rather than start something completely new. What the hell are they doing? After the 2nd bombed, why so soon?
