Batman: Arkham City Screenshots [Teaser Post 535]

No co-op please.
Co-op is fine so long as it's separate content, like the challenge rooms.

While it is easy enough, the preposterousness of removing an in game setting for half of market is off the charts.
When AA released I don't think AMD was half the market. Also, every other UE3 game barring Mirror's Edge doesn't have the option either.

Not sure if it's fake or not.

Yeah, that looks fake.

Yea, seriously. If not, that's a disgrace. I would imagine Rocksteady has better artists than that. The arms/hands on both characters are fucking ugly, and poorly fore-shortened. Just terrible execution. Very poor attempt at a fake.

so I'm playing AA for the first time and also reading the thread. Came across this post:

god are the scarecrows parts awesome or what? Man if they ever do a sequel where could they theme it next? The streets of Gotham?
made me laugh.

It's really not that difficult; she's a jester, she should have that in her design. She doesn't at all. This is really way out of line with the character's original design. And there's no reason it wouldn't look good if she was designed no differently than in the cartoon. Same designs as the cartoons but rendered with the same proportions as in this style would work fine.

The Joker's redesign was perfectly fine. They should stick to the same treatment for the other characters.

I agree. I wish HQ looked more like she should and the second picture you posted showed her costume could make perfect sense in this universe.

I really don't care for the designs in these Batman games. Batman's and his cheesy overdone abs, everything about Harley, the only one I'm pleased with is the Joker and that's because they basically took what we'd all expect + Dark Knight.

pretty much my GOTY last year. Still need to get the platinum on it (think I'm at about 87%).

can't wait for this.

The concept art looks beyond awesome. It almost makes the game screenshots look too sterile and clear. This stuff needs some filters, stat!

this will be a neat six to eight hours
you have to add in the ten hours or so that i'll spend just driving in circles around Gotham yelling I AM THE BATMAN at my television if the Batmobile is actually unlockable in this.

new screens are pretty.

i see the Harley Quinn debate rages on.

fact is, the only reason she wasn't dressed like a slut in the first place is because she was created for a kid's TV show (to jump out of a cake like a stripper I might add).

she is the Joker's lover and DESPERATE for his attention and approval. of course she'd dress provocatively.

she was also based on Arleen Sorkin who reprised the role in both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. i'm pretty sure that she wouldn't still be playing Harley Quinn if she thought the costumes were inappropriate for a character who's looks and mannerisms were based on hers.

not to mention that Dini created her, and came back to write Arkham City despite any supposed 'injustice' done to Harley.

in the comics she has even posed as a stripper to aid the joker.

next people will be saying it makes perfect sense for Poison Ivy to wear fabrics...

has to be, batgirl is already oracle

I think a major problem with the new Harley is how much of her old iconic self is being lost. Not to mention the whole concept of seducing the joker is completely lost unless she's dressed like a clown, he's clearly got some sort of fetish in that area.

On a side note, I really hope Dick Grayson and/or Alfred make appearances. They deserve it.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at here. Is it a videogame, or the second coming of Christ?

Can Christ swoop onto roof-tops and then thrash several goons to within an inch of their life whilst wearing a cape?

FORGET ABOUT IT

Too bad they couldn't have the game even remotely resemble the concept art.[/QUOTE]

Game would looks so good with some more post-processing.

Also, is it just me, or do some of the NPCs on the street look a little 'shopped? Compare the one ones below Batman's cape to the ones in the bottom left... same poses..

I'm excited for this to take place in a city.

I'm still playing Asylum now so I can't judge the whole game but the Asylum locale is getting old and this vent crawling shit is overdone. Batman's secret: Unlike his enemies - he acknowledges the existence of vents. AMAZING.

Or maybe the character's creator just didn't want her to look like one, given how much her original costume resembled that of a jester. I'm sure they could have went that route if they wanted to. The Animaniacs already got away with it with the nurse.

However, it's clear that Rocksteady had a different direction in mind for Harley. The new design is now consistent with the majority of female video game characters.
