The way the game completely freezes leads me to believe there is some serious memory swapping / overflow occurring. Like either vram or ram reaches its limit and the page file somewhere is trying to catch up.
Wow at those Steam reviews. I hope they get working on it quickly to fix all of the issues. So glad refunds on Steam are such a simple process now!
EDIT: It uses Denuvo too? They screwed up.
Dragon Age Inquisition doesn't have performance issue.
Take the blame somewhere else.
You've reached a new low with this. Jesus.
Edit: And just for the record, no-drops, correct-frame-time 30FPS > anything above it marred by stutter.
Not sure if this has been posted, not my image either:
Seriously though, what the hell is wrong with the missing graphical effects on the PC version? A bug or some weird form of parity?
Usually even the worst PC versions are better than the console equivalents is why. This is a freak incident.I really...really want to ask you this guys.
Why do you still pre-order or even buy games day 1 knowing that companies don't really give a damn about PC ports most of the time... they just want the quick cash and only optimize games on console.
My philosophy?.. just wait till you get them 75% off and they had enough time to fix them.
Do I hurt the industry? maybe.. but why should I care? they don't care about us either.
I want your opinions, because I'm really tired of this.

A lot of people can't even launch the game because of the DRM.
Please tell me how a game that literally can't function isn't as bad as the "almost-unplayable" Deadly Premonition.

your gif might not show it, but the effect is definitely there.
If I was getting this kind of freezing I'd have turned off my PC in disgust.
Goddamn. This doesn't seem like something they can fix quickly.PS4 gif

The Steam store page for the game doesn't list any additional DRM. Are they just lying? WTF.
I've been off reading about this: the company that created Denuvo tries to make a huge point that it isn't DRM; it's "anti-tamper".
I mean, it clearly is DRM, and that's just BS marketing because DRM has a negative image, but it seems they may be sticking to that and Valve is going along. (Do they tell you on Origin about Denuvo for things like DA: I?).
This has really shaken me, I have to admit. I've likely already compromised too much using Steam at all without all this.
Oh god... Do we even know who will be working on the season pass portions of the game?
I guess it's time to stop trusting Steam. As if all the early access bullshit hadn't eroded it enough already. Fuck this industry.
I feel like this is a bit of an overreaction.

Grow up. You're part of the problem for supporting shitty publishers fucking you over.Well that is incredibly rude.
It really sucks for everyone who got this on PC, but really folks this is why you shouldn't ever pre-order.
Holy shit, my game isn't anywhere NEAR this bad. I'll just get a few frame drops and microstutters every few minutes, but otherwise it's smooth.
Is this what people have been complaining about?
This has to be due to the 3.5GB of VRAM on that 970, because it never happens on my Titan X.
What does NOT pre ordering do? So many gamers try to say this like it means something. Pre ordering is a gamers right there's no harm in it.
Just blame the publishers and devs.
Don't just do negative reviews, either. Report the product.
Seriously, Steam is advertising a product that isn't functional. And the screenshots are misleading, as we now know that those videos and screenshots aren't indicative of the actual product. Every single screenshot includes AO, which we know that Arkham Knight simply does not have.
Report it as Broken, because that's what it is.

Ah so you have a 970! That explains it. Seriously though, if you think that 970 is going to serve you well until this time next year then I have some news for you. I had a 970 for ONE day before I returned it because I knew that 3.5 thing would be an issue, as has been proven today

This post contributes nothing to the topic of discussion and not even correct. Did you even go to school?

Run's like shit. Stutters quite a bit, I have frequent drops in the teens?! With a GTX 980 Ti. At 1080P. Unacceptable. Very disappointing. Sad Batman.
Yeah that's what happened to me at that exact same part on my 970. Even the odds dropped my game to 0 fps. And bat mobile in general is a frame killer
