That is nuts. thats 2/3's of the game price.

additional villains invading??

Exactly.

Pay 60€: Get fully fledged open world batman game with 10+ h storyline.

Pay 40€: Get 2-3 missions and some skins.

That is probably the most obvious ripoff i've seen as of yet. They should be ashamed.

I don't care how you look at it or how you spin it, this is a clear attempt at basically robbing you.

So the real game's price is 100 bucks.

wB is going hard with these season passes.

Batman is my favorite superhero but this just for changed to a "day one" purchase to waiting a year down the line for the game of the year edition to be 20 bucks.

I know I'm not only one who feels this way either. You're not going to charge me 40 upfront when what you're providing hasn't been seen by anyone and the details are vague. Especially since previous DLC has been very lack luster. Knowing that, the base game is 60 and you want 40 more? This is the same reason I'm not picking up Mortal Kombat X. Why are they making it so hard to support them day one?

To all of you who are gonna wait for the GotY version, enjoy waiting a year for it while the rest of us enjoy the game this year.
Enjoy getting gouged. Waiting a year to not get fucked in the ass by something motivated by pure greed is a good investment in both time and money. I waited this long to play it, another 6-12 months won't matter. Especially not with all the games I still haven't played from things like PS +.

This is quite the pricey DLC so I think I'll stick with the base game and be done with it. I've only ever bought one lot of DLC and that was for Mario Kart because they told me what it was that I was buying and it was a shit load of content for a small price.
This is just vague promises of 'regular content' for a small time span. I mean, for all we know they'll release one or two small items in that time frame and you've been well and truly had. No thank you WB.

Wow. So fucking disappointed at Rocksteady.

With The Witcher 3, House of Wolves and The Elder Scrolls Online all coming in the next couple of months, I may just wait for this until later in the year. It'd be a first too, as I have bought previous games on launch day.

Rocksteady, why </3

You think this was Rocksteady's decision?

Did anyone tweet rocksteady or WB about this?

Apparently there are people who think Rocksteady (probably even Sefton Hill himself) are the ones responsible, so I'm positive they've gotten all the angry tweets instead of WB.

Meh. I'm only interested in story DLC, couldn't care less about challenge maps or most of the character skins. I guess it will be cheaper if I just pick up the story DLCs instead of the season pass.

the sad part is that this stuff used to be unlockable in the game.
Games used to be a lot cheaper to make though - with the same price tag.

I'm not sure what people expect. The way I see it games become increasingly more expensive to make these days but do not sell more (often even less) than they used to. And since the price tag doesn't change, naturally the additional unlockables are cut and sold separately.

IMO they should just start raising the price tag for current games instead of adding so much DLC. It's been overdue for years now.

The irony in this post is killing me.

One less game I need to buy at launch, which is good as I am already oversaturated with games to play.

I have money sat to the side for this game but I may just wait until the launch day prices drop down to normal day prices, happens after a few weeks here.

I've tweeted them many times about speedrun stuff but never get a reply, doubt they will say anything.

You're insane if you think people are going to pay more than $60 for a game. I'm an enthusiast and get less than 5 games a year at full price because they're too expensive.

Look I am good with a season pass if the content is worth it..BUT not revealing the details of the season pass completely is a no no for me. Yeah telling me extra villans doesn't mean anything to me. In general I will buy a season pass on sale usually way after a game has lost that new game feel. The price seems awfully high also. I have a feeling this will come to a moment where the industry needs to decide where to go with it similar to those online passes a few publishers tried to push for a while.

Wonder how you used to play games 10+ years ago when they were effectively more expensive than they are now. Hell, look at how much N64 games sold for...
Devs should price the games in a way that 1-2 million sales are enough to cover the production costs. 1-2 million shouldn't be hard to reach no matter what the price tag is - if the game is good that is.

Season passes wouldn't bother me if they wouldn't keep leaving shit out of it.

I bought the Borderlands 2 pass and it was still missing DLC. Even the GOTY edition misses shit.

Sick of DLC. So fucking sick of it.

10+ years ago I was playing $50 PS2/GCN/XB games and the "b..but N64 games cost $70" holds no weight in the current discussion; it isn't 1999 anymore. Good thing you don't run a publisher because they'd go bankrupt trying to sell a base game for more than $60.

yeah, they need to go balls out and include every batman costume.

Movie pack alone
Batman: 89, Returns, Forever, B&R, Begins, TDK, BvsS
Catwoman: Returns, TDKR
Nightwing: B&R
Robin: Forever

1 thing I don't really want to see return is the animated costumes unless done in a realistic style this time. Yeah they are fun for a minute but just too out of place for any extended use.

I've got the main game on pre order for £21. So it's truly bonkers nuts to me O_o

It honestly blows my mind how varied prices can be in Europe. In NA, this would never happen. If a game is marked as $59.99, every store will sell it for that, at least for the first week or so. After that, stores will begin to drop prices, but it's never as drastic as what you see in Europe.

In your dreams.... My amazon account says that I paid 62 EUR for REmake back in 2002. Don't know what places you have bought from at that time....

I really find it hard to justify economically that a AAA game made in 2015 has almost the same price tag like a AAA game made in 2002 and before that considering how much more it takes to make it AND they often sell worse these days.

You should stop being surprised that a WB published game does this. They are the absolute worst when it comes to big publishers.

Bought Arkham Knight off Nuuvem for about $27. Too bad they aren't selling the Season Pass as well. I will just wait until it's heavily discounted.

That's one big incentive to just wait for the GOTY edition, with so many games in the backlog and to be released that putting it in the waiting list is the best option and GOTY edition rewards you for it.

Thanks. I might just use Gamefly for the PS4 version just to play the Scarecrow stuff.
Are the PS4 skins pre-order DLC, or are they in the base disc game?

The amount companies are charging for these passes seems way off what they're actually delivering. Especially when you think that by the time all that DLC is released there is usually a sale or a GOTY edition that works out costing less.

I agree. My son has never played a Batman game, and having encouraged him to give this game a go, I'm cancelling my pre-order. He has a good backlog of games he really enjoys and more
Incoming this year. We'll wait for GOTY edition.
