Batman Arkham Origins: "Cold, Cold Heart" DLC Announced

My co-worker's son is going crazy waiting to download this for PS3?

Does anyone know when it will be available for download?

You are. It's the best Arkham game IMO. I say this as someone who has encountered just about every bug it has to offer. Even lost my save near launch. WB have patched the game a number of times since then, it's not like they just told everyone to get fucked and never bothered to fix anything.
uh i'm boycotting the dlc, not origins itself. and the dlc looks sub-par, and it's still a dick move to rule out any further bug fixing in the same breath as advertising the new dlc.

plus you're out of your damn mind if you think origins is the best arkham game

Opinions, how do they work?

Best Arkham game story wise yes.

Wasn't clear to me what you meant, thought you were talking about the game in general. My bad.

Also, the DLC is anything but sub-par. I'm about 90 minutes in, and I'm very impressed with it so far.

I think I bought the season pass for this game.

Might have to redownload and try it out. (and pray it doesn't glitch out on me halfway through like the main game)

Finished it in around 3 hours. I really liked it.

The new environments were great, and the story was pretty decent for a short DLC. The XE suit is awesome. Doesn't seem like it's available for use in challenge mode though, which is super lame. A cutscene failed to load at one point, and I had to reload the game to continue, but other than that I didn't encounter any major bugs.

Edit: 360 version.

3 hours 9.99, not too bad. Think I will pick this up.

I just played a bit. I just had it crash on me. Not sure if it was just a fluke or if it's a widespread problem.

Also had a thug go lifeless during one of the big brawls and just stand there as I beat him up.

Seems pretty decent so far though, content-wise.

pc version ? then we all had the same problem

any physx stuff in the stage?

Physx is a weird beast. In the main story getting to the Deadshot room would drop me to 50fps no matter what I fiddled around with. Disabling SLI and dedicating 1 GPU to Physx shot my framerate up to 70fps. It's great in theory but asking a GPU to render the frame and calculate Physx at the same time, sometimes even in SLI just chokes everything up. Hopefully something gets worked out for Physx 3.0 or GameWorks (what ever Nvidia are calling it these days).

phsyx is weird in this game, its fantastic outside with the snow, but the little clouds indoors just look weird, like the shit that would typically instant kill you at touch in other games.

and on a single 780, framerate was complete ass against Slade for some reason.

beware PC users , alot of bugs and crashes after the new update / DLC

Weird that some of you are getting crashes. I just beat the game from start to finish in one setting and I experienced no crashes, glitches, or bugs. Plus, I was running everything maxed out at 1080p. Maybe its your graphics card? The DLC was pretty good. I enjoyed the new thermal suit and gadgets.

My Specs
i5-3770k
GTX-680 4gb

He can do everything the vanilla version can do. Additions are thermal versions of batarangs and thermal gloves to melt stuff.

Hey look, more specialized equipment that doesn't show up in the "sequels."
Especially considering you face off with Freeze in City and Batman apparently has had specific "Anti Mr. Freeze" gadgets for years.

That suit seems like a bad joke, too. It's just way too... Cyborg.

how does hulkman fight? same animations? same gadgets?

can he fly/glide?

He fights basically the same way, though he has a couple new moves to do with the thermal gloves and batarangs. I think I may have seen a different animation where Batman bashes a thug twice with a pipe while using the thermal gloves, and the takedown animation for the ice gun thugs looked new as well. The heat glove effects look really different to the shock gloves, and when Batman grabs melee weapons they glow hot.

Suit is really cool, kind of pissed it can't be used on the challenge maps, seems like no good reason for it.

when you are in flow, do you still backflip across the map?

Just played through it on the PC just fine, no problems.

Other than the fact that it's a fluff DLC with no substance. It's just the TAS episode's story retold almost verbatim. Also the boss fight is worse than the one in Arkham City by FAR.

I mean if you want some more Arkham it's fine, it is that and it does a fine job at that. But there's nothing new or especially exciting here, sadly.

Took me about 3 hours to finish and get all the collectables/achievies, but I used a guide for the collectables because I was lazy to search the city for them. Only bug I ran into was in a predator room where one of the enemies got stuck in a block of ice which he popped out of one I grappled him. Pretty fun DLC. Like the suit, like using the new ice enemies to freeze everyone else, didn't really like the final boss battle.
