Battlefield 4 |OT2| Is it fixed yet?

Played a few rounds of Hardline beta with fellow gaffers and it was fun. We dominated and we were basically testing how fast we could win the round.

2mins 45 second Heist is the best I've done so far. Could probably make it sub-2 mins if the enemy team is totally disorganized.

Honestly it seems like some servers just haven't been updated yet. That might not actually be the case but when I've had issues like that I just switch servers and usually it's fixed.

There certainly is something going on. I was capping C on Wave Breaker yesterday with Mancunian and Dave. We are covering both entrances to D when I spot a guy at the far end of the tunnel.
I quickly turn around and decide to check the other side as well as mancunian starts shooting down the tunnel. I stand about 4 meters from him, completely out of sight of that guy I spotted seconds ago and about 2 meters from the tunnel entrance to the left, up against the wall.
Yet I'm taking damage from inside and I'm just standing there looking at how it could be hitting me, not even worrying about dying, which I then do. And indeed, it was from that one guy at the back, who is still almost at D with no one else around.
Made no sense whatsoever.

Tried to record that part as unquestionable proof that something was very wrong, but of course got the screen without the option to save the clip when I hit Share. :(

Yeah, the Hardline game modes are a little too short for how long the intermission + loading is.

Indeed. I wouldn't mind the load time if the UI wasn't so boring to look at.

Phil's got me breaking my "no paid for online" rule. ;___;

blah blah blah "Integrity" and you break only for a CG trailer. weak.

Nope. Not buying one until 2016 at the latest and that's only if they actually make the gameplay the same. Trailer's got me hyped that maybe MS actually will turn things around for themselves.

(But they won't ever change on X-box Live, so that's the weak part)

As it is if they allow LAN tunneling, good bye X-box Live.

Hardline was ok. Oddly clunky. We steamrolled everyone in the one game type. Retired like 20-0 probably.

I was going to try the other game mode tonight (if gaffers were interested, but I got a Destiny alpha key. Anyone else get one?

I'm actually scared to play BF4 on PS4 again. I'm so used to it on PC now. The controller even feels weird in my hands now, and I've got 209 hours on PS4 BF4.

With BF4 being on sale I'm wondering if I should finally bite. However concerned about system performance. I have the following.

Windows 7 64Bit
AMD Phenom X4 925 2.80Ghz
8 GB Ram
Nvidia GeForce GTX 560
Display is at 1440 x 900

I don't remember at all what my performance was like during the beta. I don't even remember if I was able to get the download to work. I have more memories of playing the PS3 beta. I could play BF3 just fine on high settings I believe. The TitanFall beta ran great as well on decent settings.

In fact both BF4 and TitanFall are on sale. So I could go in either direction. I'm leaning toward BF4 but no problem going with the one I'll be able to run better. Anyone have any advice or know if I'll be able to run BF4 comfortably with this kind of setup?

So. Yesterday I started playing BF 3 again and will continue to do so today.

I would like to ask, if I should grab BF4 PC (base + preminum?/ some limited edition?) and if, after this new patch fixing the netcode, is everything working as intended, game is gold now?

Thanks for the answer.

Debating on getting BF4 for the One for $29 from MS site. Anyone know if there is a complete edition coming that includes map packs?

The closest you'd get is Premium and they haven't released a "Premium" version like they did BF3, so no there is no "complete" version.

I think the biggest problem with Hardline is that the maps are too big. I've only played Bloodmoney so far but I there's definitely not enough crazy batshit action going on for it to qualify as a Battlefield game.

Since there is no hardline opinion thread atm...

I'm not a big fan of bf3+4 and I haven't really enjoyed a BF title since BF2. But hardline has changed that. The gunplay is much more to my liking. Accuracy seems to be increased while recoil has been increased to compensate.

The mode I played (called blood money I think, on map high tension - but maybe that is backwards), I enjoy much more than any mode in any BF title I have played. There is more focus on infantry combat as each team only gets 1 heli and 1 attack truck. The other vehicles are mostly bikes and sedans without built in weaponry. They are great for escorting cash to your vault.

Even without the increased tick rate, weapons have better feedback simply due to the nature of how they shoot and hitmarkers are much easier to discern. This is also due to being a bit more accurate, as far as I can tell at least.

The larger focus on infantry combat is what really seals it as a better game, at least for me. You don't have to worry as much about vehicles, air and land, since they are very limited. And the mode isn't just shoehorned in as a standard fps mode, like domination or tdm, and is actually a pretty decent objective mode.

I don't know why people are saying the map is too large. Most of the combat will be fought within the 3 areas that cash is located, 2 of them being the player vaults and the 3rd being the neutral cash deposit. And I don't actually think the map is that large, there are definitely larger in BF4. It doesn't take long to get right back into the battle either due to the team spawns of course, but mainly because of the amount of vehicles you have access to at your base, most of them being bikes or non-assault vehicles which are very fast and handle very well.

Maps are least of the problems. The modes are the major problem.

Vastly disagree and a lot of veterans don't agree with you. But that's probably because we like vehicles/big-maps/sandboxes. We can see why it appeals and why you like it, but we feel it's more a "mod" of BF4 more than anything.

And IMO, the recoil makes no sense. It's way stronger than BF4 so I don't get where you feel it's "better." But *shrug*

LOL, dat brainwash.

Eh, like I said: I'm waiting until more info is shown. I'm just happy that they're considering/doing a sequel/"reboot" of a niche title that I think is original and extremely underrated for the time/console it was on.

Unless there is like online achievements
god I hope not
I doubt I'll play PD2 online and will just play offline/LAN mode.

Well, to be fair: Maybe an Earthquake hits as soon as the cranes start to fall. Makes sense, they're in LA. :p

Less spread and more recoil means there is a higher skill cap. I would figure a "veteran" would understand that. The spread on BF4 guns made it so there was like 2-3 weapons being used primarily and that is pretty bad. And yeah I think high recoil definitely feels great and is rewarding when you master it.

I don't mind vehicles, in fact I like vehicles, I just don't like how lopsided they are in bf4. I think there are 2 games to date that I can think of at least, that I really like the vehicle/infantry balance and that is quake wars enemy territories and titanfall.

ty for the link tho, I did 3 searches for it and came up with nothing. I'll post something there in a bit.

Sure, I get that. But maybe it's just playing BF4 for hundreds of hours but the AKM in comparison to BF3/4's is just... off it's got way too much recoil with and without the compensator to make it worthwhile to use. Same with most of the other BF3/4 carry-overs.

I think the only gun that I actually like in Hardline is the sawn-off. And that's mostly because it's got pretty insane ADS range for a shotgun.

played bf3 again not long ago and I forgot how good player movement and overall weapons feel and ADS feel much tighter, faster, and smoother. same goes for equipment and medpacks/ammo. why would they make bf4 so much slower? -_-

I'll have to mess around with the AKM again. I've been sporting the P90 today which has a pretty beastly hipfire for this type of military shooter.

edit:
AKM recoil is fine. It isn't hard to control and I've played other shooters with similar recoil on ARs, like it honestly feels very similar to the heavy assault rifle in BLR. Also, while not an AR, the LMG in titanfall feels similar. There is a lot of initial recoil but after that is is very controllable. Basically line the first shot at chest and the second shot is already head level.

Whew does the M249 massacre people or what?

Went 34-13 on Paracel Storm just now

This gun should be illegal good lord

And the hip fire on this...

I've been craving a new shooting on my PS4 (burnt out on Ghosts, tired of COD). So I was thinking about picking up BF4. Is the game pretty solid now? How is the community on the PS4 version?

^^^ Though I'm playing on XBO, it's stabilized with the recent network patch and is pretty solid all around.

When the hell is Squad Join leaving beta? I'd like to play on DLC maps while still playing with my friends.

Upgraded to the PS4 version a week ago, that 60fps is so nice compared to the PS3.

Is it normal that textures can take up to 15 seconds to load after a match starts? Even gun models can take a bit to load for me.

Yeah it happens to everyone. Sound doesn't work for a few seconds when matches start sometimes too.

Rubberbanding, getting killed around corners, and one hit kills all in a single round. Glad to have had that classic Battlefield experience back.

I did Naval Strike a few days ago and found a server like this. It's horrible, to even think I/we endured this shit for so long is insane.

So I haven't played in a while and decided to jump on last night to play some campaign... I think the campaign is completely underrated. It's really well animated and acted. The music is great and they introduce you to weapons and vehicles very organically. Shit's dope!

it will be out of beta for Battlefield 5.

yeah it's quite solid as long as you don't intend on playing ESL Pro-League. A lot of players of all skill levels populating the servers on Conquest atleast, some DLC game modes can be ghost towns.

Are there people that actually buy the expansions separately? Just wondering because one of the big draws of premium is the 'early access' to DLC.

So is BF4 worth getting now during the "sale"?

I really didn't want it after playing the beta at the time (It wasn't really clicking for me).

Plus I knew there was a lot of bullshit and glitches that happened from launch to now, so that pretty much made me not buy it day 1.
