To me it is (a middle finger). I really want more choices for the Shortcuts. I want a full 2XP month for premium (why the fuck is there only 12 or so "planned" 2XP events outside of these two "fan appreciation" ones they added. This one an extra weekend or two for premium. The other a whole week for everyone).
Battlepacks are okay-ish (since you can't unlock EVERYTHING normally and EA is going to sell those, so fuck those and give me those for free in bucketloads I guess) but really: What "appreciation" is there for those of us that continued to play despite their bullshit?
I'd really like them to give the DICE camo that makes you COMPLETELY invisible since they haven't fucking fixed the textures for that out. Along with their DICE dogtags since they STILL haven't unlocked the dev dogtags for BF3 despite being done "supporting" that title. Bungie did this with Recon and their flaming helmet (which I wish was more than a "Bungie day" one-off) after fan-demand, so why can't DICE?

This is better than them selling the weapons packs, though. Not that I'm not part of the problem. I bought the BF3 co-op weapons pack, but that was because the co-op missions were bullshit. I never completed some of the assignments in BF3. And just like it sucks when you realize half your team are recons camping in your own spawn, I hate seeing a teammate running around trying to fulfill some stupid requirement for an assignment rather than PTFO.
Yeah play China rising and watch the bomber conga.
Even former dice employee Gordon van Dyke doesn't like BF3 or 4 anymore and he thinks last time i saw that DICE fucked it up pretty bad.

Let's be fair though: Gordon van Dyke and Alan Kertz/Demize99 gave us Magnum Ammo, one of the worst things they/DICE ever did in a Battlefield title. So let's not be hoisting them up as some saviors of the series, they fucked up as well.

What is there purpose? You unlock all guns insanely fast, after that most tension to get unlocks is lost. Who cares what ''rank'' you are?

Me (and most of the BF community) aren't seeing the problem here? Frankly, if DICE did away with the unlock system, I doubt most anyone would care.

Play some Air Superiority and you'll get those unlocks pretty dang quick. Unless you don't have China Rising.

Might as well give us the OPTION of which shortcuts we want to get... considering some of us... you know... ALREADY HAVE MOST OF THE SHIT UNLOCKED that they're offering shortcuts for.
I'd kill for a helicopter and jet shortcut simply for the above reason.

Agreed, every time Hainan or Lancang comes up in the server rotation I just quit out anymore, I don't even try to deal with it.
No attack jets in that mode. Only stealth.
Using flashing lights and endorphines to trick people into thinking Dice has done them a favor.
We should be getting some free maps instead of what amounts to complete bullshit.
I sucked at jets, then just played a bunch of air superiority and unlocked everything pretty quickly. Now I'm actually pretty competent. If you are stuck in a server with a pro, just jump into another server. That was my experience. Got all stealth unlocks in a couple nights of air superiority.

Interesting. As far as "netcode" fixes go, anecdotally speaking, and as far as console shooters that I've played go, most patches that have claimed to make "improvements" to it's netcode, have usually made it worse imo. So that part has left me a bit concerned.

I love how their solution to address community contempt due to all of the issues the game has had is to devalue the premium subscription some of us purchased on top of the retail game.
I get that they're adding some perks for premium folks in this "celebration" but what they're giving us amounts to little more than a "thanks buddy" ass pat.

What this month really is about is to pull people back into BF4 that left it (because they were tricked into buying a broken fucking mess of a product) so they can sell them Second Assault and Premium.
All of your complaints? Doesn't matter, you're still playing it. And I'm betting you're still going to buy Second Assault regardless.

Sorry but I just can't get hyped for this. I would feel appreciated if they would have had a party system from day one. Or if I could change my loadout while not in a match without having to download their fucking app.

this seems cool. good they are at least giving rewards to all players and not just those with premium. The shortcut bundles are interesting. I love unlocking things so i probably wont get any of them, only one im considering is the grenade bundle since i rarely use grenades or get kills with them

Possibly. But hitting level cap doesn't take all that long with the boots. And it still doesn't make up for all the crap you had to put up with. Not asking for my money back, but if this is suppose to be DICE "Sorry" to the community, they should of done better.
How do you activate China Rising? I got it with my copy and downloaded it, but I think it doesn't work... I'm not sure though. For instance, I'm unable to play capture the flag, because it "requires DLC".
And how are there so many people that have rank 50+? They play 24/7? I'm playing BF games for the first time and you rank up very slowly.
I've been playing the game quite a bit this week and it already works noticeably better than before. Campaign saves corruption still blows my mind, though, and it's probably still an issue.

Two basic things that were in the previous games of the series at that. I am not near as upset with DICE as others are with BF4s launch, but I will always be mystified as to why they didn't include basic features like party and loadout changes, among others.

This is the only game I care about double xp since it takes so long to level. I wish they would also do something to make unlocking attachments easier. Using a new gun is such a chore. I cannot use the iron sights in this game, and always prefer a silencer, but it takes so long for me to unlock them. I also come from SOCOM and boy do I HATE unlocks in these shooters. But it's a fun ass game. Just wish unlocks weren't such a pain.
I'm going to participate in this as much as possible though. I hope this 'netcode' thing fixes a lot. Lag in conquest needs a big fix

They already gave away China Rising to anyone who preordered; giving it to the rest of the early adopters wouldn't be much different.
How about you focus on the game's networking problems instead of trying to give us fluff, DICE?
I'd much rather have a working game with no bonus XP BS compared to a semi-working game with XP BS. Somehow double XP and all these other bonuses doesn't make an extremely laggy game any better for me.
