I like SP games, but lets be honest folks, most are not buying BF for single player. I wouldn't be that upset to see it go. Spend the funds on different MP modes.

My guess is the "Make America Nazi free again" marketing, which had the plausible deniability of just re-purposing a famous slogan, until the game's producer directly referenced the continual conflation of Trump supporters with Nazis.
I don't even like Trump, but I ended up playing a used copy of that game too. No reason to not play a game you want to play, simply because the game's developer is a tool.

Could simply be being put up against COD and Red Dead 2. As a BF fan, I can very much say this is one of the best BF titles yet. I can also say any concept of "political correctness" is irrelevant to my purchase of this game or any other game. I just don't know how many are really buying games for those reasons let alone not buying a game solely for that reason. Great games can still move less units. Many have.
The Last Of Us beat GTAV in GOTY awards the year it released, did not outsell GTAV.

I have owned all BF's since BFBC2 and probably put like 3 hours total into all the SP combined. No DICE SP has ever been praised.
Should of been like COD, dropped the SP and made sure BR was out day 1.
BR is the hottest thing right now, if BF had a BR mode there would be more hype for the game. No twitch streamers are streaming War Stories LOL.

Agreed. I never get how or why folks get triggered by junk like that. Even if its a political concept I'm against or a religion I"m not etc, its not relevant to me having fun with the game. Literally hundreds of people work on a AAA title to get it released, if someone doesn't play a game based on the beliefs of the developer, I'm not even sure how they can really game at all considering almost any team can have a member that doesn't share their same belief. Its childish and just doesn't make much sense.

I droped BF1 after just a few hours due to the terribly amount of snipers on open maps, but this game is tons of fun so far and Snipers are much less of a nuisance. I think BFV is def. superior to BF1 in many ways.

I agree. The mechanics of the game are the smoothest I've played in a battlefield game. The physics can be wonky at times but that's just frostbite. For the first time I like BF more than cod this year. The game feels decently balanced between game play and unlocks while adding character customization.

In a time where anyone with a conservative view was/is considered a Nazi by extremist leftists, they were clearly trying to fuel a political fire in a bad political climate. I have no problem shooting nazis in a videogame, I grew up playing W3D but don't appreciate them pushing an agenda with their marketing.
Doesn't bother me at all. I play games like the Atelier series, Horizon Zero Dawn, Tomb Raider, Heavenly Sword, etc. Again it's just the idea that they were pushing a political agenda that bothers me. If you want to create a storyline entirely based on women or a LGBT character then all I care about is the quality of the story. If you decide to rewrite history to push an agenda then no thanks. Yes there were women in WW2 but you're literally talking about a droplet in the bucket. For example, Bioware has bisexual characters in their games and I love them. Now if they made Geralt bisexual to cave into social pressure then I would drop the Witcher games. If they make Witcher 4 about Ciri then awesome. If they made Geralt into a female character for a reboot just because "it's 2018" then I'd be annoyed. Make sense?

5 years ago Bioshock Infinite just had to put a generic "guy with a gun" cover on the game.

It's a fantasy game, not a documentary. They are trying to appeal to a growing demographic of girl gamers, it's no harm. Nothing about the game is realistic, so stop projecting your politics onto everything. They did it for sales, the same thing that drives every decision.

Makes sense, they've been putting these out way too frequently like they're trying to be COD, rather than try to make each game last a long time and keep selling for ages without self-competition.

But the most dominant bulk of the buyers of this series will continue being males so the demographic focus should not awkwardly change with shoehorned bullshit, or sales will suffer. The tiny minority of girl gamers playing competitive online shooters cannot carry this series, or even keep it alive.

The only BF game I really liked was Vietnam. I can't stand another WW1/WW2 game anymore, they've just been done enough. Give me the jungles of Vietnam with some badass music to go with it any time!

I had a discussion with a friend about this. He said "I'm glad, I hope EA dies". It doesn't make sense to me when someone is happy when a product tanks. If you like it, buy it. If you don't, don't. Why do people care about stuff that they won't consume anyway? There is people that like it and if it fails people will probably lose their jobs. EA will continue and whenever it becomes a bad business someone else will buy them (say Tencent or whatever).
Nobody wins.
They did things better than with Battlefront (which I didn't buy mostly because I don't care about SW) and still people grill them over some stupid comments that were in response to some other stupid complaints. The only thing that having women characters in the game changed is that you sometimes listen to women screaming and dying in the background. I don't see how that is an issue and historical accuracy has never been a part of the series. I mean, there have been giant sharks in the sea and people jumping from planes and shooting other planes with rockets while they fall. If I wanted realism I'd play ARMA or Squad (which I do, but not all the time).
A lot of people are missing out on a good game and most likely the franchise will go to the freezer.
My brother and I did as well. As soon as it expires I will buy the full version. Well worth it. (Plus I got to play FIFA 19's The Journey)
