Battlefield 6 | OT | Time to Sheikh things up.

think theyre missing a huge opportunity now have the full BR map to edit, that could of been arma reforger style mode, to drag some of the milsim fans over, apparently only sections for now will be able to be edited

I was planning to get this on release but as EA are holding back the allocations sold to the key sites I'll be waiting instead as I ain't paying sixty quid for any multiplayer release. CDKeys or nothing.

See if you're eligible for an EA Play free trial on Steam. It gives you 10% discount on any game purchases.

And people still believe in reviewers?

This will work just like in the beta. You'll have to wait 5-10 minutes max, but you can enjoy the game without interruptions after you get in.

midnight where though?
EST I reckon. Europe would still be asleep and only the hardcore players would be logging in. Then a gradual instream of players throughout the day.

I might watch someone play for a couple of hours and get the Twitch drop weapon package. They'll be sitting in a queue anyway lol.

There be twitch drops? At least I can do something whilst not playing thanks for the heads up.

if you think a battlefield campaign has been worth anything over a 6 in a decade post BC2 you are smoking the wrong drugs.

the last "good" campaign a battlefield game has was BF1 and that because it was smaller dedicated story experiences that were not related.

and this comparison is disingenuous at best, when its literally a comparision of a 30hr plus single player game vs a 4-6hour - 8 mission campaign. Obviously the longer single player campaign will score high compared to whats clearly a tacked on single player mode to a live service multi-player game.

My body is ready.

Distinct lack of takers for grouping up you cowards. Last call if you don't want to play with randoms @me your tag and platform and i'll add you to the second post of the OT for easy grouping with like minded dossers on GAF

I mean not that I'm against having a campaign in Battlefield, but the games didn't start out that way like CoD or Medal of Honor.
Battlefield was from the beginning a MP game first and foremost. They didn't even have campaigns until much later. So if you're just going into this game for that, I think you are making a very poor decision.

Well, jut picked it up from steam. Apparently servers open in half an hour. Too bad I got a lot of things to do this weekend but I hope I can exchange a few hours of sleep for a few hours of gaming.

Gamers in general are gearing more towards singleplayer games, most of the money may come from whales and live-service but ignoring them is probably not a good look in the executives eyes when they're discussing these projects.

Although I wonder if it wouldn't be better for DICE to simply allow offline matches with bots like the old Battlefield games but also allow progression on them.
I don't know, the perfect answer is probably quite complicated to reach so they just go for a campaign, the problem is even FPS campaigns are quite divisive nowadays, everyone expects a different thing, many people want different gameplay, others want a good story, personally I'd be chuffed with simple old call of duty and medal of honor style campaigns, not much of a story, just give me levels based on real combat but with shiny, modern graphics and animations on top of that.
Can't please everyone one I guess.

Is battlefield ever cheaper on the steam key sites or has EA squashed that?
It will be, but right now it's almost the same as on steam. I'm also still on the fence. Beta was fun, but nothing mind-blowing. Also I have no one to play this with because my friends are suckers.

I think Portal might serve that purpose for Bot matches, but we'll see.
