Battlefield: Bad Company demo dated

The combined Battlefield: Bad Company single player and multiplayer demo is out on June 5 on both Playstation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace. Pre-order the full game now and get the demo a week earlier!

There's no way you can experience Battlefield: Bad Company for Xbox 360 or PS3 before it ships June 23rd. Nope. No can do. Well, okay, if you pre-order it, we can get you early demo access beginning May 29th, but that's all we can do.

Did they fix the tearing?

Don't the two paragraphs in the OP contradict themselves?

"single player and multiplayer demo is out on June 5 on both Playstation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace"

"no way you can experience Battlefield: Bad Company for Xbox 360 or PS3 before it ships June 23rd"

Yeah, they better have fixed the tearing issues...

They said they did during the beta. (They didn't fix the beta, it was just said in a list of what they have fixed thanks to the beta testing.)

Oh well thats great news :) Thanks.

Had my pre order down for awhile, took a few of those pre order boxes, but i dont know how we are giving out the early demo codes?

That's good news. I have a friend who is more excited about this game than any other. Now I can actually figure out if he is insane or not.

Wasn't all that interested in the game after the beta, the multiplayer sort of felt forgettable.
I may still buy the game if the single player is good though so hopefully the demo turns out well.

I was dissapointed by the game. However I will still buy it. I thought the explosions were a little to much, its pointless to hide inside a building, because the enemy can see your dot and just blow the building up. Just thought it was alot harder than BF2. Ready for the demo to try it again though

Same here, but for what it's worth, IGN said

Stopped reading there.

As long as R1 shoots I'll be interested. But I'm expecting the worst. It's an EA game afterall.

As a long time fan of the Battlefield series this will be the first time I really don't care about a Battlefield game coming out. The beta left me feeling ripped off.

- No parachutes: What's the logic here? Sure people abuse the air vehicles, but don't punish the entire community for that.

- It takes one full clip to take down an enemy. Battlefield is in no way a realistic shooter, but this feels like an arcade game.

- Why is everything so blurry and dark?

:lol :lol I swear, I was about to put in parentheses after I said IGN said "yeah, I know, IGN.."

I thought the beta was just average, but had the potential to be very good.

They need to tighten up the controls, make them smooth like Cod4. This was my biggest issue with the beta. It just felt cumbersome to move.

Fix that and make the weapons more powerful and we have a winner.

It should really apply to all sites. You always see "Both versions looked the same" in previews and then they're released and one version (usually the PS3 version) is a complete mess.

Actually, they did "fix" it during the beta. Like everything else, it just wasn't rolled out through the entire server list.

They basically just had a few servers for testing various beta changes. While the vast majority still had the starting characteristics from day one and remained unchanged.

The latest videos from Gametrailers disagree with IGN..

Both versions have bad screen tearing. Although there could be other issues with the PS3 version. That's the main one though because it's not your typical screen tearing.

Whoa, hold the fuck up...No fucking parachutes?

Seriously?

After the beta of Bad Company and the MP demo of Frontlines I decided on the latter, but I guess if they have made decent improvements for the demo of BC I could be tempted.

This is true. The positive preview, then the game gets released and all of a sudden things aren't as rosy as the preview seemed. I'm hoping EA finally have PS3 development under control now. I've never played it, but I understand Army of Two looks the same on both consoles? Being PS3 only, it's really a roll of the dice with EA games. Never sure how the game turned out till it's in stores and reviews and impressions start rolling in...

You heard it right... they decided that Battlefield Bad Company didn't need parachutes. Might as well just removed any possible fun that could be had while they were at it.

They addressed it early in the Beta.

Something along the lines of the defenders already having enough to worry about with people already coming in from 360 degrees from their location. Adding the possibility of people parachuting in and it'd be overwhelming.

But this was before Conquest was added, so we'll see.

Haven't played a Battlefield game since Battlefield Vietnam so I'm looking forward to trying it out. Hope the SP is decent. I don't know if they talked about it yet but I really really hope the multiplayer isn't based on matchmaking because I won't even bother with it.

It was more shredding than tearing. :lol

I doubt the parachutes will be added this late in production. High doubt...

Yeh filling a copter up flying up into the stratosphere and everyone air dropping was a great tactic in BF2. However, it was a little too easy at times.

i missed out on the beta and am really looking forward to trying this out (maybe thats why?)

That's good to hear. The village level was crap because you couldn't see a thing indoors.

And even still, Conquest isn't going to be shipped on the game disc Day 1, it's to be patched in and/or available as free DLC. Maybe they'll add a feature for a mode that won't be immediately available from the start, but who knows.

I'll be interested to see what changes they've made. Hopefully they made the game fun.

odd question. but how is the sound in this game? iirc weren't they doing something special with the audio?

This drove me nuts. And they even increased the clip size of most of the weapons. I'm not an expert or anything, but 60 rounds for an MP5 and 50 rounds for the M8(?) was crazy. You think that would have been a hint for them that things are a little off. When you're noticing it's tough to kill someone with one clip of ammunition, I think the reaction should be raise damage/lower health, not add more bullets.

Oh my god and the squad stuff. Ugh, I'm gonna stop now I could go on too long.

Yeah man, this game is not looking good. What pisses me off, I've been waiting years for a good Battlefield on the consoles. Many of my friends don't have the great PC's so we can't play Battlefield 2 together. HUGE let down...

It's actually spectacular. Very well done.

I guess you missed the sound the tank makes when damaged? That shit needs to be removed or mixed into the game better. Drives me insane...
