Bayo-nea-to. Nice!

Oh Nintendo, buy the damn IP already.
You love the IP more than Sega.

Same with Pac-Man and Megaman :(

Don't fuck with a witch!

I was a little sad they had to change it to 'mess'. They might as well have gone with 'flock off' instead, it's more iconic and wouldn't have to be edited.

Comes out in February which is also the month of Platinum's 10th Anniversary. I'm expecting more Bayo related surprises even though I probably shouldn't.

And to think this time last year we just thought the 'Bayonetta-related surprises' would only amount to that fucking calendar. Now I'm expecting Bayonetta 3 for NX with a N3DS companion game and accompanying amiibo line; a mobile spinoff, shoujo manga starring Rosa and Balder, card game, musical adaptation, three separate pachislot machines, ports of the entire series to Virtual Boy, a live concert tour and an enormous balloon float of Demon Rodin hanging over HAL's offices by January.

How so? I had a blast with it and thought the combat throughout was great.

Very glad they dropped the filler and insta-death QTEs.

It's still a great game, but Umbran Climax is leaned on a little too heavily in the overall balance. I'd be interested to see how they'd refine it further in a third...

You didn't like the Umbran Climaxes in Bayo 2? I thought they were incredibly fun, pummeling the shit out of giant enemies, sometimes even juggling multiple giants at once.

This is the sort of thing I only noticed after like 50 hours, but one of the reasons Umbran Climax is so awesome is because they depowered normal-tier Weaves slightly. Basically, they made a shitload of enemies not get thrown or even staggered by normal Weaves and moved all the guaranteed stagger/blast moves into Umbran Climax. It makes Umbran Climax really powerful but it means that normal-tier combat feels a lot more piss-weak because you're not actually having much of an effect on your opponents most of the time.

tbh I thought the trailer was kind of badly cut. The rhythm of the english v/o was completely out. Even palutena's trailer was a little better.

Such a pity they can't throw money at animation studios for the DLC stuff, but they still manage to make it look awesome anyway. This was probably the worst trailer in terms of cutting and it was still pretty good.

mad bayo didn't just straight up interject on palutena and tell her to flock off, featherface!

That's really the biggest problem with Bayonetta 2's combat. It feels like a beat em up more than crazy action game sometimes because Bayonetta can't juggle worth shit without the Bracelet of Time or Umbran Climax, and the damage dealt to large enemies without it is pathetic. Unless you take out the chainsaws and just mash buttons, which is not really what should be happening in a character action game.

Also the first Bayonetta has like two insta-death QTE's in the entire game but it's constantly brought up as though it's a major and consistent flaw.

Hmmm, just ordered a new copy of Bayo 2. Gotta see what all the fuss is about. The fact she was so highly requested has my interest piqued.

Get ready for two of the best action games out there. Take your time with 1 too. There's a ton of unlockables and it really rewards you for just playing.

Man, when I heard her voice, make me shiver from head to my ass. Jesus Christ..what a day!!!

Thank you, Sakurai San!!

I'm proud of all of you for doing the right thing. I voted for her, but I didn't really believe it would matter in the end. Amazing.

It really irritates me because I think Bayo2's movesets are all way superior/mechanically interesting to Bayo1, but it's caught in a system where none of that actually matters very much.

There is no way in hell bayonetta actually won that ballet. Still a neat addition tho

A fun theory I've seen regarding the ballot is that so many people who never owned a wii u voted for Bayonetta as a guest character because there'd be no chance they'd ever actually do it so it would waste a "precious spot" ala Goku votes. And that was enough to give her the worldwide ranking and make her viable.

After playing through the first game fairly recently, this is extremely incorrect.

Most QTE moments are instadeath in that game, and there's far more than two.

That said, everything else is pretty true.

Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, Pac-Man, Ryu, Cloud, and now Bayonetta... all in the same game.

Simply legendary.

Sakurai is a man of miracles. There will never be another fighting game with a roster anywhere near as incredible as this... maybe not even the next Smash.
