I added the key to my existing copy of malware and it upgraded to the pro version. Should I be worried?

So far there is no word on how they are going to deal with this key issue, just that they are reviewing it:

So it is possible you could lose the pro version eventually, as if it was a free trial.

Best combo right now is malwarebytes and privatefirewall 7.0

OMG, I was planning on buying this within the next week or so. Awesome. I'm probably going to do a Windows reinstall in the next month or so after I organize all my shit, so I might actually buy it at some point soon. I heard it doesn't work very well with Bitdefender though...
clamxav works great although I've never got a virus

A little update. That free key for malwarebytes pro from glarysoft? not so legit after all, this just popped up on my screen:
I was going to buy it (especially at the discounted price), but I accidentally closed the window. hope it pops back.
edit: it popped back. even with my financial troubles, I think it's worth the investment, especially at a cheap price for a license that lasts more than a year.

That key wasn't for Malwarebytes, it was for Chica PC Shield. I posted this earlier where they were told about the mistake:

it's real-time protection is pretty bad, actually. It's fine for scans of stuff that isn't zero day.

I had a similar issue. even uninstalling the 'pirated' version, the key from glarysoft was still being applied, I had to go here:
https://helpdesk.malwarebytes.org/entries/25291497-How-do-I-uninstall-Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware-
and download the uninstaller tool program which removed the key and the program. I then downloaded the copy of Malwarebytes from the order confirmation page in my email and applied the newly purchased license information.

Apologies for the thread bump a month and a few weeks later, i did this after seeing the thread last month and it activated fine. Yesterday it came up saying the "trial" had expired and i had to reactivate it.
Did this happen to anyone else ?

the key was basically shared through a shitload of deal sites so the credentials are now considered not legit by them. i got it too when i used the info from Slickdeals. i closed the discount window by accident as well and missed out on the deal. i just ended up buying the license at full price. i like their software so why not.
