Hey Zod! Not surprising seeing an old Jcer in this thread. :p

1. Luke vs. Vader (ROTJ)
2. Luke vs. Vader (TESB)
3. Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon vs. Maul (TPM)
4. Obi-Wan vs. Anakin/Yoda vs. Palpatine (ROTS)
5. Obi-Wan vs. Vader (ANH)
6. Obi-Wan/Anakin/Yoda vs. Dooku (AOTC)

Luke vs. Vader in Return of the Jedi. It had the most emotional impact out of all the fights IMO. I absolutely LOVE the part where Vader says he will turn Leia to the dark side and Luke goes apeshit. He just beats Vader into the ground.

It doesnt get more epic than that. amazing ending for this trilogy.
I do not like the prequel duels at all. in a way, the duels are symbolic for everything thats wrong with the prequels. the duels in the episode 1-3 have no meaning at all, apart from obi wan vs. anakin (which was already set up in the old trilogy, and was disappointment in all too many ways), the others are just a bad guy in the way of the good guy or vice versa.
in the classic trilogy, the duels are always the climax or a turning point of a conflict. and the one in episode 6 is such an amazing conclusion to vaders whole story and of the whole sage - as of now. the music and dialogue are incredible, and vader makes his final choice.

the only one in the prequels that comes even close to the classic duels is palpatine vs. windu.

I was going to say something about the Obi Wan/Anikan fight but you edited it in.

i think i'm the only person who liked the anakin vs obi-wan duel. if you're going to make the saber battles batshit, make them 100% batshit.

Empire fight for me hands down. Episode 1 fight is awesome too, but fuck that shit, Darth Maul should of never ate it and got more developed as one of the main bads in the prequels.

"You underestimate my power." LOL!

Question: Whats with the 'bringing balance to the force' thing. Did it ever happen? and how exactly was it unbalanced before?

Shit forgot about #6. Only seen it back then but it blew me away. Loved Dooku's cane saber.

Vader and Luke in ROTJ for the whole atmosphere of the fight. The Music and everything is just so perfect.

I am a fan of Palpatine and Yoda fight too. Liked seeing 2 force masters just go at it and Palpatine finally got to show to a degree why he is the badass. Yoda went in there expecting an easy kick his ass fight and instead found out how arrogant and stupid he was

I dislike that Yoda lost because he fell off a chair

Wasn't it more of a prophecy about Anakin? He's the one to bring balance. Eventually evening out dark side and light side?
I thought this too, but it never made sense since killing the emperor means an imbalance to the light side. Reading up the wiki apparently 'balance' means zero dark side, all light side(natural state of nature or something).

I disagree about Palpatine and Yoda. Considering that Palpatine and Yoda were supposed to be two of the most powerful force users ever, their abilities were pretty limited. Both of them could throw things and Palpatine could shoot some force lightning. Maybe that's just the result of a lack of creativity.

when I saw episode 5 as a child, I was sure yoda could cripple a star destroyer as easily as he lifted lukes x-wing out of dagobahs swamp. palpatine could turn other jedi into screaming helpless victims with his lightning and the EU made him mind-control entire armies.
seeing those to face off each other was such a major disappointment. but after the yoda/dooku fight in episode 2, I didnt expect anything else.

just one of the many reasons whay palpatine/windu is my favourite fight in episode 3.

Same here. Barely any weird wire shit ruining it and they are jedi and not cracked out ninja spider monkeys either. Just emotions and excellent set pieces.
Those pieces needed barely any words and told entire stories by themselves.

Nailed it. The prequels are hollow and emotionless. The OT had that raw power. The lightsaber duels were about much more than glitzy stunts.

The Anakin/Obi-Wan duel in ROTS came close to having that energy but it had too much silly shit like that gif of them twirling their lightsabers like idiots.

Episode 1 but I've only seen 1-3.

Dude, thats like going to the bar, finding a nice girl, hitting it off, chatting it up, getting her number, getting invited to her house for the night, and then when you're halfway into the bed you leap out the window buckass naked, leaving everyone involved totally unsatisfied.

GO WATCH THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY.

I'm in the minority that loved the Vader vs. Obi-Wan fight in ROTS.

Yoda vs. Palpatine was ridiculously disappointing though.

Actually watching the prequel trilogy would be like your given scenario except you wake up the next morning and discover the girl is an acne-ridden, unwashed BBW.

Luke vs. Vader in RotJ has more emotion especially near the end than ESB but I like the inexperience on the part of Luke in ESB.

Luke just snaps in RotJ and the scene is just amazing because of it.

... damn. LOL

Luke vs that evil dude "Darth Vader" in Star Wars 2. But Ben vs Darth Vader in Star Wars was decent. There are no other answers.

In terms a purely epic Lightsaber fight it's Emipire: Luke/Vader. The fight itself was awesome and the "I just whupped you ass and Oh I'm you daddy too." moment is simply too good to be topped.

However for a straight up badass fight my submission has to come from Star Wars: The Clone Wars *Spoiler*
Darth Maul & Savage Opress VS Darth Sidious https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7hBZNsPnyg
*Spoiler*

I thought this too, but it never made sense since killing the emperor means an imbalance to the light side. Reading up the wiki apparently 'balance' means zero dark side, all light side(natural state of nature or something).

Lucas has some odd belief that balance in life means no dark side whatsoever. Its really not realistic whatsoever.

I think the idea that Plagueis and Sidious discovering the ability to manipulate the force to the point of creating life would be the better idea of unbalancing nature

Out of the 6 movies, I'd say Maul vs. Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan and Luke vs. Vader are tops for me. I can't really put one of those over the other.

Out of all Star Wars media, I'd say it was the time I was playing Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and spawned 50 Luke Skywalkers to fight 50 Desanns in a giant open map. To my chagrin, there were 5 Desanns left standing when it was all over. They were subsequently executed.

the point of creating life would be the better idea of unbalancing nature
according to the novel darth plagues, this is exactly what is meant with the unbalance of the force
the experiments of plagueis and sidious create an inbalance, and its heavily implied that anakin is then produced by the force to balance this out, so anakin actually is the one who brings balance to the force.

Palpatine versus Maul and Oppress was really entertaining from Clone Wars too. Ending was awesome . Fucking Disney ruining the future

There was a YT video where the dumbest, unnecessary moves in the Darth Maul fight were highlighted. Can't find it anymore.

Vader Vs Luke is ESB, nothing can top that, Luke facing his greatest fear, Vader being impressed by Luke, Luke doing his best with all the limited training he had against someone he knows is most powerful than him.
Second best is Vader vs Luke in ROTJ
