It doesnt get more epic than that. amazing ending for this trilogy.
I do not like the prequel duels at all. in a way, the duels are symbolic for everything thats wrong with the prequels. the duels in the episode 1-3 have no meaning at all, apart from obi wan vs. anakin (which was already set up in the old trilogy, and was disappointment in all too many ways), the others are just a bad guy in the way of the good guy or vice versa.
in the classic trilogy, the duels are always the climax or a turning point of a conflict. and the one in episode 6 is such an amazing conclusion to vaders whole story and of the whole sage - as of now. the music and dialogue are incredible, and vader makes his final choice.
the only one in the prequels that comes even close to the classic duels is palpatine vs. windu.
Vader/Luke in Empire
i think i'm the only person who liked the anakin vs obi-wan duel. if you're going to make the saber battles batshit, make them 100% batshit.
Why did you do this to yourself?
Shit forgot about #6. Only seen it back then but it blew me away. Loved Dooku's cane saber.1. Luke vs. Vader (ROTJ)
2. Luke vs. Vader (TESB)
3. Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon vs. Maul (TPM)
4. Obi-Wan vs. Anakin/Yoda vs. Palpatine (ROTS)
5. Obi-Wan vs. Vader (ANH)
6. Obi-Wan/Anakin/Yoda vs. Dooku (AOTC)
Question: Whats with the 'bringing balance to the force' thing. Did it ever happen? and how exactly was it unbalanced before?

Vader and Luke in ROTJ for the whole atmosphere of the fight. The Music and everything is just so perfect.
I am a fan of Palpatine and Yoda fight too. Liked seeing 2 force masters just go at it and Palpatine finally got to show to a degree why he is the badass
I thought this too, but it never made sense since killing the emperor means an imbalance to the light side. Reading up the wiki apparently 'balance' means zero dark side, all light side(natural state of nature or something).Wasn't it more of a prophecy about Anakin? He's the one to bring balance. Eventually evening out dark side and light side?

Vader/Luke in Empire
when I saw episode 5 as a child, I was sure yoda could cripple a star destroyer as easily as he lifted lukes x-wing out of dagobahs swamp. palpatine could turn other jedi into screaming helpless victims with his lightning and the EU made him mind-control entire armies.I disagree about Palpatine and Yoda. Considering that Palpatine and Yoda were supposed to be two of the most powerful force users ever, their abilities were pretty limited. Both of them could throw things and Palpatine could shoot some force lightning. Maybe that's just the result of a lack of creativity.
ESB Vader vs. Luke
Actually contains some emotion unlike the prequels acrobatathon
Same here. Barely any weird wire shit ruining it and they are jedi and not cracked out ninja spider monkeys either. Just emotions and excellent set pieces.
Those pieces needed barely any words and told entire stories by themselves.
Episode 1 but I've only seen 1-3.
lol nice try.Episode 1 but I've only seen 1-3.
Dude, thats like going to the bar, finding a nice girl, hitting it off, chatting it up, getting her number, getting invited to her house for the night, and then when you're halfway into the bed you leap out the window buckass naked, leaving everyone involved totally unsatisfied.
GO WATCH THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY.

Luke vs Vader 2 in Return of the Jedi. The music makes it even more epic.....when vader is....AHHHH sister! and the music builds and unleashes. Mindblowing.

The answer is Darth Maul.
according to the novel darth plagues, this is exactly what is meant with the unbalance of the forcethe point of creating life would be the better idea of unbalancing nature
