Eyes on Me still sounds the most interesting, followed by Suteki da ne and Melodies of Life. In contrast most of the newer songs like Kiss me Goodbye or My Hands sound boring and uninspired to me, though it's probably just a matter of taste. I usually don't like pop music much (or any vocal songs really), so I don't really have an educated opinion.

Why from Crisis Core is also pretty good, though I would've liked an English one.

Most of alternatives in FF is often melodramatic operatic pieces, Bastardized metal or rap, or wet 80's J-pop.

Besides having some dodgy lyrics in parts is most perplexing to me because they translated it to English but decided to not translate the title which shows up multiple times in the lyrics, defeating the entire purpose of translating it to English.
