Excellent news. I hope they make a PS4 version and get more money for their next gen project.
Really happy. Experimental games like these deserve good sales as it sends out a message to others to push gaming to new territories. There's plenty of room for all types of games.

Kind of split over this one. I'm glad games like this exist and that there's a market for them, but I didn't actually think it was very good and it was a step back from Heavy Rain in some regards. Good for QD for not following the pack, and Sony for funding them, but they must try harder next time.
Oh, please. I like what QD does. Do I want all games like that? No. Do I deny they have problems? Not at all. Calling anyone who likes these games an insane fanboy is absolutely ridiculous and short sighted. QD has a lot they can improve on but I like what they're doing.the message that things like gone home and walking dead send is that people like alternative story-based experiences

I don't know why Telltale Games gets a free pass while everyone rags on Quantic Dream.
I believe it's mostly because Telltale's stories and characters are incredibly strong

Overall, Walking Dead was not as good as HR or Beyond, IMO. Better in some ways worse in others. aeolist, your post is total hyperbole.Oh, please. I like what QD does. Do I want all games like that? And made it simpler and less involved (in case of WD at least, I didn't play WAU yet)If you think the gameplay in QD's games are bad then the same would apply to TWD, as they just ripped QD's formula and put it into their games.
70 088 @Beyond2SoulsPS3 sold in France alone in 2013 (source: GFK). In fact, that's better than Heavy Rain in it's first 12 weeks on shelves

Get a grip, they're no different from eachother.

why do you think i'm talking about the gameplay at all?
Because you mentioned QD's games having bad gameplay in your first post in this thread.

i love that the cage defenders always strawman the critics as people who just don't like the gameplay
the gameplay is bad, sure, but the main problem is that the writing is incredibly awful
Good news, it deserves every sale it can.
Wasn't as good as HR imo, but still in my Top 5 2013.
Good, good for them. I myself still haven't found the time to experience this game yet.
Cant compare yet Heavy Rain sold over 3 million over timeHow much did Heavy Rain sell? I want to know if this performs better or worse.
Um...
I don't claim that either Gone Home or The Walking Dead (which I didn't actually enjoy all that much) are high art, but claiming they're no different from one another is ridiculous. Those two had really smart writers behind them while Beyond was like a low-budget Syfy original from 2002. I think Quantic Dream have the technical chops to deliver an amazing game with the right collaborators, but their efforts so far, and David Cage's storytelling, are downright embarrassing.
I'm looking forward to playing this on PlayStation Now.
But in what way though? What I've learned in this thread is that Beyond sold 1 Million and that some of GAF is a bit off the rocker when it come to this kind of game.

Selling a million units isn't really considered a success for a major game these days, is it? Companies like EA or Activision would declare a game a huge failure if it didn't manage to move significantly more than a million units after three months on the market.

Same here. That's great, hope the games continue to do well despite some people wanting genres they don't like to go away.
That seems pretty good for just France. I liked the game. Hope it does well worldwide.
