I have a sneaking suspicion that Twisted Metal is being given a super swanky PS3 make over by a totally new team and not by Jaffe himself.

It could certainly be a PSN title being developed by an internal team at Sony Santa Monica or perhaps a new team much like Slant Six's work on SOCOM: Confrontation. Or perhaps a team that's already doing very well under Sony at the moment....hmmmm..

Anyway, I highly doubt Jaffe is going to MS. Setting up an indie studio for downloadable games across all platforms, more likely.
 
He was in Alabama and didn't come to see me...one of the few Southern GAF members!

I'm excited to hear the news, whatever it is. Sounds like it really will be a huge change.

I do like Jaffe!!! In fact I really like Jaffe. He's a man that wears his heart on his sleeve. He clearly believes in what Sony are doing with the PS3 and indeed PSN as a whole. It's refeshing to see someone like Jaffe who had linked to larger scale productions going back and making smaller more accesible games.

I just don't get all this apcoalyptic talk surrounding his future. Though he might go to MS, he hasn't exactly been kind about them in the past. He said something to the effect of, "...when MS see what we have they are going to shit themselves..." about Sony's showing at E3 last year.

My previous rants in this thread (including Shane Kim...still find that funny) have been about some other posters in this thread with their......ahhh, what's the point.

Despite my earlier statement about it being obvious that Jaffe was getting his own Sony studio... I'd now like to see him going it alone, cross platform and EPIC. Just to see what you'd have to say on it! :D

Jaffe to MS/XBLA - "Clearly he's just gone where the money is......"

Jaffe to Nintendo - "Jaffe's a Father now and feels that with this new frame of mind he wants to create games that he can play with his whole family. And for that, I have the upmost respect.

Jaffe to Gizmondo/Swedish Mafia - "Motherf*cker gone crazy!!!!"

It's fun as hell and you must get it now. Best multiplayer experience on the PS3 to date imo, online AND offline.

Although Jaffe did an amazing job creating the original GoW, some would argue Cory Barlog exceeded expectations with the sequel. With that said, I have no problems with Cory keeping that torch for 3.

Staying OT: I think Jaffe is going to announce his new (Sony funded) studio along with maybe some hints on what he's got cooking inside. I also would not be surprised if the game he is allowed to talk a little about has some connection to TM but the game is probably not what we are thinking. I don't think it's a "new" TM but maybe an HD version of an existing game (TM:BO?) or maybe even one of the PS1 games.
 
I'm guessing it's going to be something, well, rather normal. Just him opening his new independent company under Sony or making games for Sony only. PSN games or maybe some new epic game under his new development studio for the Ps3.

Some really :O predictions.

-David Jaffe goes to Wii development only or Xbox360 only.

-David Jaffe makes multiplatform games. Arcade games, maybe epic games on all platforms.

I doubt the later two will come true. The first one is most likely.
 
obviously the "big" is in quotes because he's going to EA Sports Big and getting Kratos put in NFL/NBA Street and all their other games.

Did anyone actually expect Sony to be this aggressive with the whole e-distro game angle? I expected it from MS due to its focus on online, but it's a bit surprising to me that Sony is onboard the idea to this extent.
