My friend thought AoC was the next big thing and forked out a 6 month advance. How we still laugh.

GSG Flash said:Smash Bros Brawl, the amount of effort (there was a huge snowstorm earlier in the morning, so I had to walk to Walmart on foot 45 mins each way) and money I spent to get the game wasn't worth it. It's probably the most disappointing game for me in my history of playing video games.
Edit: Also probably the original Xbox, I bought it because of the Halo 2 hype, Halo 2 was a massive disappointment (not as big as Brawl though), and I essentially paid $300 for a souped up PS2 (which I already owned), atleast the multiplatofrm games were always better for the Xbox :/

Gamer @ Heart said:My remorse is from my PS3. As soon as i got it i was like.....fuck, i should have gone with an 80BG. I didnt think i cared about BC until i had to lug my PS2 across the country.
Aladuf said:Gears of War PC, I got a pretty decent PC about a month ago so I decided I needed to finally get Gears of War PC so I could play the bonus act. The game was such a shitty port and constantly crashed (despite the PC easily meeting the requirements to play it). I was pretty bummed to have bought it.
If my console wasn't plugged in I wouldn't play it either.Ikuu said:Wii, pretty much everyone I know doesn't even bother playing theirs either. I'll probably try and sell it, rather than have it just sit there collecting dust, it isn't even plugged in.

sphinx said:to all people mentioning consoles ( Wii, 360, PS3, whatever ),
you guys have to understand that a console is a VERY long term investment. If you are not using your console now, I would only try to sell it if I needed the money but not because "I don't use it, it collects dust" .
Sooner or later a handful of games will appear throughout the generation you will want to play and you will more than likely regret having selling the consoles and you will lose tons of money in the process because you will buy them twice or even three times:
Reasons to keep console:
Wii: Next Zelda and Pikmin.
360: Gears, Halo, tons of exclusive JRPGS.
PS3: Most first party stuff.
stop the whining, just wait up.
Brandon F said:PS3 for me. Year of PS3 has thus far consisted purely of MGS4(and maybe Siren when I finally buy it). Not a good showing next to the other two consoles for 2008 so far. Last year was even worse as I wasn't too enthralled by Resistance, Uncharted, Sigma, and HSG5. Blu-Ray has been nice, but most HD movies are equally available on Live arcade to rent, and BC has been the strongest reason I keep turning the system on(60gb).
360 is my go-to console for gaming since it launched, and the Wii gets the occasional hit to distract me, but PS3 is just my MGS4 machine.

Try plugging the thing in and buying a game to play?

Wurm said:Original DS. Bought at NA launch. DS Lite rolls along, not long after, making it seem like a silver spray-painted joke-brick. Even worse that they got me beforehand with the original Gameboy Advance I bought at launch and then the GBA SP. This remorse has translated into an assertion I will not be tricked again.
TwinIonEngines said:Don't worry about it too much. The high public profile of the DS lite puts considerable pressure on Nintendo to ensure that a succeeding product meets or exceeds it in terms of attractiveness and convenience in portability. Also, the continued extravagant sales of the DS give them plenty of time to refine a successor's design into a suitably attractive form before launching it.
I doubt we'll see another mass-produced prototype a la GBA or DS Phat as the first iteration of the DS's successor. But you're right -- if it's not pretty out the gate take a pass, because a much nicer model will arrive sooner rather than later. The nicer the first iteration is, the longer it will take them to revise it.
