Biggest case of Buyer's remorse?

Smash Bros Brawl, the amount of effort (there was a huge snowstorm earlier in the morning, so I had to walk to Walmart on foot 45 mins each way) and money I spent to get the game wasn't worth it. It's probably the most disappointing game for me in my history of playing video games.

Edit: Also probably the original Xbox, I bought it because of the Halo 2 hype, Halo 2 was a massive disappointment (not as big as Brawl though), and I essentially paid $300 for a souped up PS2 (which I already owned), atleast the multiplatofrm games were always better for the Xbox :/

how was it a disapointment? do you have no friends?

Off the top of my head, Okami. I'm sure it's a great game, but I couldn't be bothered to play it any longer once I heard the characters voices.

Burnout Paradise for the PS3. Mainly because I heard there was slowdown on the 360 version (don't know who told me), there wasn't. So all my friends play the 360 version together and I don't play mine at all. :(

I have friends, I just think it's shit and a step back in the gameplay department compared to SSBM.

Wii, pretty much everyone I know doesn't even bother playing theirs either. I'll probably try and sell it, rather than have it just sit there collecting dust, it isn't even plugged in.

I have extreme buyers remorse about buying the xbox360. It's not even that I don't like it because I really do. I just already had a Wii that I played everyday and I simply couldn't afford to buy a 2nd console so I really shouldn't have until I had more money

People who let their Wiis collect dudst i dont think put enough effort into finding the good games that acutally exsist. Instead they wait and wait for the next AA game. Keep waiting you fools.

My remorse is from my PS3. As soon as i got it i was like.....fuck, i should have gone with an 80BG. I didnt think i cared about BC until i had to lug my PS2 across the country.

I kinda had the same problem. I bought a 40gb because I knew I wanted MGS4 and didn't think Sony was going to bring back the 80 and about a week later they announced the 80gb w/MGS4 and I had a sudden urge to play 1-3. I was pretty pissed.

PS3 for me. Year of PS3 has thus far consisted purely of MGS4(and maybe Siren when I finally buy it). Not a good showing next to the other two consoles for 2008 so far. Last year was even worse as I wasn't too enthralled by Resistance, Uncharted, Sigma, and HSG5. Blu-Ray has been nice, but most HD movies are equally available on Live arcade to rent, and BC has been the strongest reason I keep turning the system on(60gb).

360 is my go-to console for gaming since it launched, and the Wii gets the occasional hit to distract me, but PS3 is just my MGS4 machine.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic or whatever it was. I had constant problems with it an dit never ran correctly. I should actually re-try it on my new PC build... but after a month worth of problems I said fuck it and gave up.

I'm really amazed by the amount people the are saying Wii. I myself owned a Wii for only a couple of months before selling it on ebay. The only game I owned was Mario Galaxy. Once I beat that I completely lost all interest.

Gears of War PC, I got a pretty decent PC about a month ago so I decided I needed to finally get Gears of War PC so I could play the bonus act. The game was such a shitty port and constantly crashed (despite the PC easily meeting the requirements to play it). I was pretty bummed to have bought it.

You know, I was talking shit about the port, but it's pretty damn good once you tweak a few things (on my rig anyway, which is by no means high-end but it runs at a constant 60fps after forcing v-sync).

I was a huge fan of Jet Set Radio for the Dreamcast, so when JSRF came out on the Xbox, I bought the game and the system that weekend.

The game was not as great as the original and worst of all, the system dropped in price and included the game as a bundle shortly after I bought it!! :(

If my console wasn't plugged in I wouldn't play it either.

Try plugging the thing in and buying a game to play?

I was a BIG Master of Orion fan... like HUGE... when MOO3 was released I found it at a gamestop with a wrong tag for $2... I bought it.. and WOW.. BIGGESt buyers remorse EVER... what a waste of a game.

You got a case of buyers remorse after spending $2?

+1 for the Wii.

After the feeling of excitement about the motion controls wore off, the waggle began to seem so awkward and unnecessary for SO many of the games that I played. For the past few months or so, it's really been nothing more than a Gamecube/paperweight for me.

Bleh, I also get a lot of games that I can never seem to play/finish. The Orange Box (HL2), Oblivion and Mass Effect immediately come to mind.

to all people mentioning consoles ( Wii, 360, PS3, whatever ),

you guys have to understand that a console is a VERY long term investment. If you are not using your console now, I would only try to sell it if I needed the money but not because "I don't use it, it collects dust" .

Sooner or later a handful of games will appear throughout the generation you will want to play and you will more than likely regret having selling the consoles and you will lose tons of money in the process because you will buy them twice or even three times:

Reasons to keep console:

Wii: Next Zelda and Pikmin.

360: Gears, Halo, tons of exclusive JRPGS.

PS3: Most first party stuff.

stop the whining, just wait up.

Needs to be quoted once again.

Although you might say that's because I'm a bit biased towards the Wii (which is true, can't deny it), I find it especially stupid to feel buyer's remorse for that particular system. The reason is that you know there will be cool games for you one day or another, be they from Nintendo or a third-party. The privilege of owning a console from the market leader is that you're almost sure to have good games one day. I can understand feeling that kind of remorse if, for example, you're a pure graphics whore but bought the system anyway, although that would be kinda stupid if you ask me :p. Otherwise, wait at least a few years before claiming you wish you hadn't bought whatever system.

Me?

Elebits/Eledees on Wii: I usually don't say that, but it really lacked polish, and the multiplayer was a mess. I wish I had kept my money to buy the sequel (IF it's good).

Meteos on DS: I thought that, maybe, the game could make me love puzzle games. For a few days, it was true. I haven't been playing the game ever since those few days were over though. It wouldn't regret buying it if I at least knew someone who really likes the game among my friends, but none of them really do, even those who like the genre (well, Tetris, really).

Mario Kart DS, in retrospect: I had much fun with it at first, but I think Mario Kart Wii (especially the online mode) is far better. MKDS is still one of my favourite MK games, but that's not saying much, since I'm not a huge fan of the series in the first place. MKWii is king.

PS2: yeah, I said it. It's technically not something I bought, since it was a Christmas present for my brother and me, but we bought next to no games for the thing, and the only game I really care about, I could have bought it for the Wii, had I waited a bit :/. Yes, I'm talking about Ôkami PS2. It's a birthday present from friends, which was cool, but I just wish I had it for Wii instead, which is my own console.

Maybe Dreamcast: Poor thing died an early death. Hadn't have enough time to appreciate it :(.

what have the other consoles had in 2008 that has been better than MGS4?

I remembered another one: Mega CD for the Mega Drive II. I played Columns... and some point 'n click adventure games and that's it.

I've paid for and played countless crap games over the past 21 years but this is the game that really made me want to trash my PSX. Neither was it a cheap import back then. Still, my number 1 regret purchase. Mine wasn't the "PS the Best" label version either.

Original DS. Bought at NA launch. DS Lite rolls along, not long after, making it seem like a silver spray-painted joke-brick. Even worse that they got me beforehand with the original Gameboy Advance I bought at launch and then the GBA SP. This remorse has translated into an assertion I will not be tricked again.

Age of Conan.

Worse for me, I bought the Collector's Ed. On eBay for way more than it was worth. Thought it was going to be limited (not to resell, but to have) and they end up making it rather worthless.

The original Xbox. Two weeks later 360 was announced and support died. I bought like four games for the black brick. Well... at least it's a great homebrew system

Don't worry about it too much. The high public profile of the DS lite puts considerable pressure on Nintendo to ensure that a succeeding product meets or exceeds it in terms of attractiveness and convenience in portability. Also, the continued extravagant sales of the DS give them plenty of time to refine a successor's design into a suitably attractive form before launching it.

I doubt we'll see another mass-produced prototype a la GBA or DS Phat as the first iteration of the DS's successor. But you're right -- if it's not pretty out the gate take a pass, because a much nicer model will arrive sooner rather than later. The nicer the first iteration is, the longer it will take them to revise it.

I can't believe I wasted 30+ hours on this content-less game. I also kind of had buyers remorse after buying an Xbox just recently, but after getting a couple of gems, it was all good.

QFT, the PSP redesign did not come for a while, and it really had no improvements that made the original buyers jealous.

Nintendo seems to have it hammered in their minds that good aesthetic design is important, since the Wii design came out simple and elegant.

probably wii :S

and wii games. i kinda get sucked up into the hype, like for super paper mario, smash brothers brawl, warioware, trauma centre. i dont like to think about how much more cash would be in my wallet right now

Bully. what shit was the 360 version. sold it on ebay
Wii, fun for a week with wife. returned to store.

edit: and GTA IV. the downloadable content better have all those fun things from San Andreas that was cut.

buying;
motorstorm
eye of judgement
lair
assassins creed
ratchet and clank
enchanted arms

yep, they all suck (well ratchet and clank doesn't, it just doesn't keep me engaged at all)

I also have to the Wii, after e3 I couldn't put up with it anymore and sold it to get a 360. So it worked out for me in the end :D

Mostly the Wii, I knew I won't like it still bought it because of the hype and Mario Galaxies. Sold it 2 weeks later.

GT5 P. - Had a Walmart gift card but I wish I bought something else.
GTA4 - Unfortunately I bought into the hype> I should have known.

mmmkay you SUCK!!

I was just gonna say when i bought that ribwich off of Homer.

CLASSIC BUYER'S REMORSE... where the hell did you find that picture? I don't think anyone would know what we're talking about anyways

Oh, yeah, also after i bought my PS3. All that money,.....
I have the buyer's remorse..

I'd say my Xbox. I wasn't even an early adopter, and I got the lovely disc error messages on day one. I didn't get a warranty with it though :(

Couldn't you just have exchanged it if you just bought it?
