Biggest meltdown on a game show ever?

So in Family Fued, they're in the fast money round and the first person gets 182 points. Pretty much in the bag at that point right?

Not until the second person tries to secure the remaining 18.

Saw this last night and was legit shook. The looks on her family's faces were so painful.

Can you explain what happened. She got some of the answers right
... No she didn't. Unless you're unfamiliar with how Family Fued works.

...deeply in...LOVE!
The only other possible answer I can think of is 'debt'.

It's not like the UK's Family Fortunes where there are half a dozen possible answers to the question, here there was one obvious answer and maybe one or two much less obvious ones. In the UK it would be 'Name a hot beverage' or 'name a brightly coloured flower' where there are tons of possible answers but this seems very lopsided.

The way the game works is you try to guess how a group of 100 people would answer the question. So you could be "right" but not nail one of their answers.

But she did, didn't she? I'm assuming the words on the board were the ones the 100 people picked. She said airport, growls, and love, but when she did, she got the buzzer on it. So what was she supposed to say?

That was her other family member, who went first and answered the questions with those answers. She can't repeat any answers.

Yeah i agree with the people saying this was a bit unfair in regards to the questions, they had very clear answers (hence why it was so easy that the 182 was already scored and having her repeat the same answers).

Aren't questions in family feuds/family fortunes supposed to be very clear multiple answer questions?, I've never seen such clear question/sanswers when i used to watch it.

The person that went before her already gave those answers on the board. So she has to say something different. Like places where people often check the timeshe said airport, which got buzzed since the answer was already chosen by the guy before her, then she proceeded to go on to say "restaurant" which nobody they surveyed said.

If she had said something like "bus stop" or "train station" that could possibly have gotten some points for that answer, but once again it is dependant on what the people who answered the survey said. Airport was the #1 answer they gave.

Meltdowns that were not caught on camera included:

According to former Wheel of Fortune producer Nancy Carson in a TV interview: A woman lost her chance to go to the bonus round. As soon as the camera cut and the show went to commercial, she started crying and walks off set, her mother in the audience also started crying. The producer of the show never heard from them again.

Regarding Family Feud, that ain't nothing. One family lost the bonus round on a show taped ages ago......they were arguing all the way out of the studio and into the parking lot with a producer assuring them they tried their best.

However, BIGGEST celebrity meltdown on a game show has to go to William Shatner on Pyramid:

This is the primary reason I never watch family feud (and I rarely watch game shows generally anyway). In some ways, it punishes knowing answers; it's more about understanding what the common man thinks than knowing what is actually correct, whether people happen to believe it or not.

Of course, this complaint is somewhat softened by some Family Feud categories which are, effectively, opinion polls.
