Just ignore most of the sidequests on barren planets. Unless you love spending 20 minutes on planets filled only with mountains and 1 building/cave with few enemies and a vehicule that doesn't go where you want half the time when the ground isnt flat.

Everything else is very good though.

I like the Mako stuff. If only for seeing how badly I could fuck up travelling in a straight line. As bad as that bloody thing controlled, my insistence that I could make it over that enormous mountain range was my true bane.

Ofcourse there's still going to be some quality meltdowns if they do reveal them and they turn out to be alright anyway as people have had years to come up with crazy expectations, but still. Pure Quarian ugliness is the way to go.

I wouldn't let a few nutjobs put you off trying out the Mass Effect games. In nearly every successful franchise you find some really odd types attracted to them for some reason. I remember with the Star Trek franchise you had people writing gay fan fiction about Spock and Kirk. It is just extreme fanaticism really some people take it a tad bit too far for one reason or another.

I will admit I am a huge Mass Effect fan, I don't secretly lust after Tali or want to surgically alter my girlfriend to look more like Liara. I just like the games, I do a few music vids to Mass Effect but that is about it. The problem with BSN is the extreme fans are concentrated in one confined space and that leads to a complete and utter cesspit of degradation and despair.

I only played ME1, but from what little i was able to see behind the visor, i don't think they're very pretty. The eyes look so creepy.

I have never understood the love for Tali. She has almost no personality whatsoever outside of thinking Shepard is awesome and kind of a vague "I don't want to let my people down" thing.
