The combat system's fucking weird. It has some level of auto-attack in it, but it's different from old Korean MMOs.This game looks so good. How MMO-y is it. Can you play it solo? Is the battle system the typical MMO auto-attack BS?
How MMO-y: depends on what you mean. It's not WoW. By the traditional definition of MMO it's probably the most MMO MMO this side of the year 2000This game looks so good. How MMO-y is it. Can you play it solo? Is the battle system the typical MMO auto-attack BS?

The action gameplay is a highlight, it is akin to a character action game with combos and real-time flashy combat. Think of it kinda like an open-world RPG with DMC combat and a persistent chatroom, towns, and world PvP at high levels.
The only bad things about it are the fact that it is a huuuuuuuuuuuuge grind and you don't get new cosmetic stuff without paying $$$, all the armor looks the same to sell costumes.
I own it on PC and it has the worst pop-in I've ever seen, with seemingly no settings having much of an effect on it. Hope it runs better here.
Not really true, I just got the new Striker outfit off the marketplace within a few hours of deciding to try, it takes time but its doable.
The outfits can be purchased on the marketplace if someone puts them up.
I hear they tend to sell fast though.

And I'm assuming you spent those hours camping the marketplace to get it before it got sniped right? And how much time did it take you to grind the cost of it? They aren't cheap.
Nope. I set a notification, once the notification pops it's on the market in about a minute.
It cost 38 million silver in game, which is reasonable imo.

Yeah, high profile items like this or even ships and wagons will go up, you can attempt to buy it now and it basically puts you into a lottery queue for the chance to buy it.
That's definitely not always the case. I've seen things take 15-20 min to go from notification to posting, and you're not guaranteed the item even if you're camping.
Also, how long did it take you to grind 38 mil? Time is a cost.
Costumes and cash shop items that appear in the marketplace are really cheap. The problem is demand, and everyone that bids for them is given an equal chance to win the draw and the right to buy them. I've bought many pets and costumes without spending hours camping.

I don't mean to call you a liar, but either our definition of many is different or you're wrong.
Yeah it's the most egregious example of pop in I have ever witnessed in a game. I've heard it can be mitigated by installing all onto an SSD? But even then, it's disgusting. Your brain literally tunes it out at a point and you fool yourself into thinking it isn't a problem. That being said, it is a wonderful, wierd game for what it is. It's a Korean grindfest, you'll be leveling up mostly by killing monsters around your level. At the core it's a game about efficiently killing large groups of mobs and moving to the next large group and repeating a thousand times over. But it's fun in a therapeutic, repetitive type way, like Musou games. The combat is infinitely more fun than a traditional tab MMO. It's almost like a fighting game at times. And we haven't even covered fishing, trading, land ownership... it's crazy.I own it on PC and it has the worst pop-in I've ever seen, with seemingly no settings having much of an effect on it. 5000+ Hours played.
You think I'm gonna lie about how I got a bunch of Pearl items on the marketplace? Really? I also exclusively get Value Packs on the marketplace to sustain a constant subscription. Am I lying about that too?

You can just craft your own ships and wagons (all of which bar one you can buy any time as numerous are always stocked). Cheap to make and cheap to buy and you never really compete for those particular items.
And you don't seem to be aware of how the marketplace works. Cash shop items, after the notify, will go up within 30 seconds of a notification, non-cash shop items will go up between 10 and 15 mins.
Once you're near endgame 38 mil isn't very much at all. Couldn't say exactly, if you wanted to grind for 38 mil it might take you about 4 hours if you're unlucky with drops, 2 if you are, but in a game like this you would be doing many things at a time to make silver ideally. I'm playing the game and buying an ingame item with the ingame currency, so I'm not exactly counting the time it takes.
I mean I've been playing since the game launched, I am not sure what showing my a picture of your life skills mean. Specially since they aren't that high for 5000 hours played (afk'd).
You can get items off the marketplace, I get costumes and value packs myself. But I have to question the intentions of anyone who tries to say getting pets off the marketplace is even possible, let alone the fact that you can get many. In all the time I've played (including parts where I worked from home) I've gotten all of 2 pets off the market place. Pets are the cheapest pearl item someone can put up on the marketplace, and they are bid on by everyone. The fact that getting full T4s is luck based, you very rarely (if ever) get players who stop bidding on pets. They very rarely get put up, specially compared to costumes and value packs. I'm not bored enough to count up all the pets sold, but I'd be willing to bet that certain costumes have outsold ALL pets sold.
Is it possible to win a pet off the marketplace? Yeah, but it is also possible to win the lottery. I would never tell someone they could feasibly get a pet off the marketplace.
So do some of you who have put some time into the game feel like it's a good choice for someone's first MMO?
Everything I've seen about his game has had my attention (especially the combat, looks amazing) but outside of that I can comfortably say I'm out of my element when it comes to look for in a quality MMO.
I don't mind a grind at all as long the combat holds up.
Accurate.About 1000 hours on Steam, best version of farmville I've played.

The marketplace is a lottery, but it's not hard to figure out how to get what you want out out of it. Even then, it's still pretty bad.
The MMO-y aspects of it are great, they hearken back to the days of games like Ultima Online, which is what drew me to it. You don't have to worry about a strict progression of content, to get better gear, to do harder content, to get better gear, ad nauseam. You can go level your fishing one day, play the market the next, play through the story one day, or do whatever. It's a cool game.
Some of the best combat in any MMO I've played. Each class feels legit different, and the combat sandbox feels like a DMC game.
About 1000 hours on Steam, best version of farmville I've played.
What's the end game about?
They going to tighten up the controller controls? Cause they are cool at first but get ass cheeks when you start doing combos and advanced skills

I watched the trailer, got super excited and then read this. I've never had an excitement boner be deflated so fast.only negative part of the game is there is literally zero armor progression.......everything looks the same from low level to max outside of maybe 2 outfits.
