Blaziken confirmed in Pokkén (surprise!)

I'd imagine that, similarly, there will be a boss character in the version releasing tomorrow who's added as playable in a later update/console port. So while I don't count on any more characters being shown for the release version, I'm rather confident we'll get that.

Mewtwo is too obvious

Imagine my pain as a Farfetch'd fan. It won't ever get to be in Pokken, won't get a new evolution or mega-evolution, and will always have shit stats.

I guess what I am really saying is fuck Blaziken.

If you want your game to do well, why would you say "Okay let's just put the unpopular ones in here"

All you need are a couple of poster children for a Pokemon game to sell, besides I'm not saying shit like Lumineon should get it in. Less popular than the marketing staples, not unpopular.

But I understand the frustration of seeing two of the most over promoted fire starters in existence getting into a fighting game before some other Pokemon get in.

We all know who the final boss or most badass playable should be

Getting mad about "kiddie pandering" in Pokemon is hilarious

I am a mature man that loves man's Pokemon like the turtle that shoots water or the dinosaur with a flower

You know what I'm going to ask you.

That's Hoopa Unbound. The alternate Psychic/Dark-type form of #720 Hoopa, the latest Mythical Pokémon

It's 21' tall though, so quite unlikely. If Ridley is too big for Smash, so is this for Smash and Pokkén. That said, they could put Hoopa Confined in and have Unbound as its final burst attack.

Whilst I can understand why, people have to expect the popular Pokemon to be included to help sell the game.

And there have been a few surprises here and there, with hopefully more on the way.

To say the least, I would've never imagined my boy, Machamp, making it into a game like this. "Fighting" motif or not.

Honestly would depend on how they do it. It's not like Azazel wasn't a thing in Tekken 6, after all.

He could totally be a non-playable boss, just look at Azazel in Tekken 6.

Anyways, I hope we get at least one water and one grass starter eventually, kinda lame that we have two starters playable and they are both fire.

People saw the game as a chance for Pokemon not often promoted to get their time to shine.

This game has a nice mix of both popular and random, though.

When were you ever going to have a game where you play as Suicune? It's popular, but not enough to really be a major character in anything in the last 15 years.

And Machamp is a super odd ball. Suicune and Weavile might be kind of weird, but at one point both were heavily promoted (but have faded away over time). Machamp is literally just Machamp. I don't even remember Machamp appearing in the Anime... like at all (I know he did once or twice).

Machamp is the original ultimate Fighting type pokemon, he's what you thought of when thinking "fighting type", I wouldn't call him random at all.

Primeape, Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan were more heavily promoted back in the RB days. At least from what I remember. Hitmonchan would bring a neat fighting style to the game that not many other Pokemon could really bring (except maybe Breloom).

If you had nobody to trade with, you would never have even owned Machamp back in the day.

Psychic types were so ridiculous during those days that fighting types were basically non-existent.

If Suicune is in then I want to play as Meganium, aka 2nd best Grass starter, and Venosaur, aka best Grass starter.

Edit: Shuckle and Hitmontop should be in too.

It can't all be Fighting types and bipedal Pokemon, but I really want to see Infernape.
The last thing we need is another character meant to appeal to infants.

I don't think there are any particular Pokemon I want to see, all my favs aren't really feasible. I've been happiest about Machamp, Blaziken, and the way they handled Pikachu. I'm not expecting any really cool ones to be revealed early.

Do we have a bug or poison yet? I'd love to see Nidoking and maybe Heracross or some shit, but any poison or bug type would be cool.
Armaldo? Scolipede?

Good that we have Blaziken outta the way now. Also good to know that this game will be getting updated with new characters post arcade release like Tekken 7.
When's Aegislash though?

The Pokemon I'd most like to see are Blastoise, Tyranitar, Dragonite, Sceptile, Pangoro, Electivire and Feraligatr. I'd love Arcanine as well but there's probably enough fire type representation already tbh.

Hitmonlee, Hitmontop, Donphan, Arbok, Snorlax, Heracross, Scizor and Hawlucha could all have really interesting playstyles, but I doubt many of them have a chance. Mewtwo and Greninja feel like givens at this point, but I won't be disappointed to see either.

Unova shouldn't get any reps, because nobody deserves to be reminded of those trash-tier designs outside of the main games (where there is no choice but to include them).
I'm only half joking, I really dislike Unova designs.

Doesn't matter how many times I see it, I will always think the same thing

pokemon designs are getting out of hand, I mean I like the design and all, but that is some insane shit right there

Gengar is Ghost/Poison if that helps.

Do you think this game has a chance at being in the Nintendo Championships?

I think it's a safe bet. The Pokémon Company President already made it clear that they want this game to take its rightful place at things like the Pokémon Championship, which slides right in with Ninty's overall strategy regarding esports, in general.

Especially if it's good, Pokkén could be a solid contender right alongside Smash.

When's Bellsprout?

Funny thing is, I'd almost expect to see a non-starter Grass type get in over an actual starter, at this point.

Breloom, Cacturne and Abomasnow would be my top picks. But who knows what they could do with someone like Bellsprout or Exeggutor?
