BlizzCon 2007

Sigh, just the expansion it seems.

Unless they throw it in at the end...

They might toss something in near the end since they don't have much to show on D3.

LOL at the voice-chat joke.

Same info that's been released lately I guess. No trailer :(

edit: I eat my own words. Some of the zones look quite cool.

They'll explain how to make a hero class later on I'm thinking. 2 zones playable at Blizzcon, yeah I think nobody will attend panels between that and hands-on SC2:lol

The new terrain looks awesome. Very epic.

I'm a whore for snow. I've been keen on Northrend since the first chapter of Warcraft III.

i'm two lvl's away from stepping into Outlands for the first time :lol

WTV, i love story content and i can't play without having any story/motivational drive.

my gut feeling is that Death Knight is a Warrior and Warlock crossbreed class. ie your new PVP overlord. And i'm pretty sure you won't be able to start as a death knight from the start. you will start from another class and you will need to go through a series of training quests and itemizations on your way to being a death knight.

Yeah. Looks like they've done an awesome job with the scenery this time around. I can't wait for some official photos, interviews, and impressions. Lots of good stuff. :D

1up's got a lot of info from the new Games For Windows mag about the expansion

New Hero Class: Death Knight
World of WarCraft's first Hero Class is a plate-wearing tank/DPS hybrid that works a little something like this: When players hit level 80, they'll be able to embark on a quest (similar in difficulty to the Warlock's epic mount quest, back before the level cap was raised to 70) that unlocks the ability to create a Death Knight character. The Death Knight starts at a high level (somewhere around 60 or 70, though Blizzard isn't certain yet), so you won't have to grind your way back up all over again. It's intended as an alternative, advanced class for end-game use only.

Rather than using rage, energy, or mana, Death Knights have a special "rune sword" displayed beneath their health bar, onto which the player can etch six different runes (choose between Frost, Blood, and Unholy). Different abilities require different mixes of runes, and using abilities consumes the requisite runes until a cooldown timer causes them to be available again. Stuff like talents, spells, and other specifics are still being finalized. So are key questions like what races can be a Death Knight (start a Gnome petition now) and whether unlocking the Hero Class on one server means you can create a Death Knight on any server.

That sounds cool as hell!

Well I'm psyched for Death Knight but stunned and disappointed that there will be no low level content and no changes whatsoever to the rest of the world.

I also am hopeful that Death Knights require a full character CONVERSION as implied in the trailer, although that might be hard to pull off if there are race restrictions. That's a great way to keep everyone from playing the new class exclusively and to make 'hero class' really mean something without making it an awful pain in the ass to unlock like the jedi was.

Need to hear more about this new class and get a release date.

I kinda want to re-up my account now, but I don't have a guild anymore and I'm rather noobish for a lvl 70 (only played about 3 months total). :(

Yeah it's real, the UI functionality is already on the Test Realms, no more need of Vent/TS.
Most people are going to stick with Vent/TS. I doubt Blizzard has managed to cram the amount of functionality and voice controls and that kind of stuff into their integrated thing as those two programs have.

Unholy Embrace

Instant Cast. 5 min cooldown.

Target is embraced by a silhouette of darkness for 6 seconds, corrupting any healing spells and effects cast upon or currently affecting the target to cause damage for 50% of their healing potential instead of restoring health. Any damage shields cast upon or currently affecting the target will also be instantly consumed, dealing 50% of their absorption potential in damage. Once afflicted with Unholy Embrace, the target cannot be afflicted with Unholy Embrace again for 1 minute.

I really don't like the fact that you start a new character and that it seems like there's only going to be 1 hero class..

um I have mixed feeling abouth the Hero class...the way to become one reminds me so much of the Jedi class in Star Wars Galaxy. That thing killed SWG..Nasty.. making guilds crumble and killing community("care to join our group ""can't i am on my deathknight's quest" :p).

I have a feeling they're taking the hero classes slow so they can balance each one individually against the rest of the classes.

I wonder if Blizz considered this scenario. I can see lots of people rolling a Death Knight. Two hero classes would have been better as it divides things up better. We'll see...maybe you can't use them in arenas or anything.

someone needs to trash that teamliqiuid.net site for having people block the cameras with their garbage. f'n losers.

Enough WOW!
