Bloodborne to get first public hands-on at gamescom

If there's one thing you really want to see at Gamescom, make sure you're there when the show floor opens and make a beeline for the Bloodborne booth first thing.

Having to queue up in the middle of the day for two/three hours is terrible.

Yeah, and Miyazaki even explicitly apologized for the crappy performance in that area (not that I found it unplayable at all, but yeah, it was bad). Hopefully that means he'll make sure nothing as bad happens this time.

You're the contrarian GAF deserves. . .but not the one we need right now.

It's being spearheaded by the fella who made two of the best games on the PS3, on much more powerful hardware with one assumes years of "notes and weird bullshit ideas to fuck gamers up. . ."

It's the next game in a critically acclaimed genre of games made by the guys that made the genre critically acclaimed in the first place.

Sure you might not buy into the hype but how can you not understand it? lol

One of the biggest and most beloved new IP's of last generation is getting a spiritual successor on a next-gen console, with a godlike director handling the project himself.
Do you like the souls games? Do you understand why people like them?

Gotcha, forgot it was the souls guy. So should I play a souls game before giving this a Shot? I've never played one.

Play Demon's or Dark 1, it's worth it regardless of wanting to get into this game or not.

Dark 2 is a different team and a (comparatively speaking) mediocre game, leave that for later.

Demon's was pretty solid. I only really encountered frame dips when breaking a ton of barrels. Plus Japan studio will probably provide a lot of manpower/resources for this as it's an important exclusive and Yoshida will probably be keen to make up for his mistake with Demon's souls.

Well that's debatable. I know it's just leaked footage and all but it didn't look promising and I don't think that will change much. From Software aren't technical masters after all.
I'm hyped for this game, but I won't count on a stable frame rate.

Footage of Demon's souls shown four months prior to release had major framerate issues that didn't exist in the final game. I agree that from aren't exactly technical masters, but they have assistance from Japan studio and this is a major exclusive for Sony.

Yoshida didn't have a lot of faith in demon's souls and later regretted that. I wouldn't be surprised if they made sure that the final release had a stable framerate. At the very least, there'll be no more blighttowns.
 
Do Naughty Dog's ICE Team* ever help studios abroad, does anyone know? I imagine the language barrier would put a stop to them helping out with Bloodborne, but this is a pretty big one for Sony and may be the spark they need to get a slice of the hardcore firmly back on the Playstation train

*I think it's them who have a small team who basically move into the studios of people developing PS-exclusive games, and help them with the tech side

The game is at the very least 6 months away from release and the leaked footage framerate still looked better than some parts in console Dark 1.

This. TW3 is a game I'll only finish once but that will take me ages so I need time to finish it. Then I'll spend the rest of the year playing bloodborne if it's good (I don't think there's any chance of it not being good but we never know...).

I'm also more impatient to play TW3 than bloodborne because we got a souls game this year so I'm not as thirsty for a new game in the same genre than I am for the sequel to a '11 game. And I mean, if you're familiar with the Witcher books... You know shit is going to go down in TW3 and I can't wait to see how it will all unfold.
 
Can't wait. Dark Souls became my favorite game of all last gen and the only reason I tried it out in the first place was from June's free games for Live Gold members. I spent over 150 hours on it and still constantly discovering new things.
