It will make the game harder, which is a good thing.Shoogoo said:I'm about to buy Dunwich Horror. Any thing that could make me change my mind? Will it make the game even more enjoyable?

XiaNaphryz said:If she's fine with Agricola, maybe something like Power Grid or Dominion? Maybe Puerto Rico?
Neverfade said:Puerto Rico, for sure.
Edit: Le Havre is Uwe Rosenberg's other worker placement game somewhat akin to Agricola. I'd still recommend Puerto Rico over it though.
Yeah, it's a sliding scale.Shoogoo said:Oh really? I thought the game was sometimes quite hard. Depends of the Great Ancient. There is this GA that spawns 5 masked enemies or whatever they're called. We couldn't get rid of one of the 5. If Dunwich makes it even harder I can't imagine how screwed we will be :lol
Do those glasses and outfits look anything but amazing and futuristic to you? 60s...pshaw. Maybe 3060s.out0v0rder said:isn't that what the US was in the 60's?

I'm hoping to get some board gaming together this weekend, but everyone is busy it seems. So it might not happen. Grr.

While I was somewhat... disgruntled with the show by its ending, the boardgame really managed to capture the flavour of the early show. Jumping only to have two basestars immediately follow you, Galactica getting hammered by enemy nukes, Cylon saboteurs, political conflicts, running low on supplies, making a tough decision to jump the fleet with the risk of losing some people, etc. The mechanics are very well thought out and easy to pick up.

I was particularly amused when everyone sort of ganged up on me (loyal) and voted for Gaius Baltar as President. You fools! How could you trust him? :lolNeverfade said:OMG! Wanna come over to my house and we can swap E.J.O. stories and braid each other's hair? My mom says it's ok with her if it's ok with your mom! :lol

More players=easier to seal, but harder to beat the ancient.
Most people find base AH to be a touch easy I think, at least after you start to figure out which locations spawn the most gates. But it's also possible you're making it harder on yourself through different rule interpretations, which happens a lot.

Neverfade said:The first time we ever played my good buddy picked Gaius. He's never seen the show, so he didn't know he was "doing it wrong" -- of course we weren't CERTAIN till the end, but he was so pro-human, that it would have gone down as the single worst cylon session in BSG history. We'd reveal a skill check, they'd all be the right colors, and he'd have thrown in like 5 cards to help out. :lol

Noticed that a new version is available titled "Battleground: Crossbows and Catapults." Picked up a new copy shipped for $28 off Ebay, and am very pleased with the quality. It's an upgraded version with additional weapons and features.
Such a great game. Can't wait to play with my kid -- just have to wait another 5 years or so.
