Bob's game Kickstarter

Best thing he could ever do is just quietly release the game on a site and charge 10 bucks for it.
Only way I would ever buy this game now is if Nintendo stated that they made the whole story up and it was a huge viral ad that lasted a couple years and that Bob's Game is a first party game from Nintendo.
Like that would ever happen :P

Good luck in whatever you are trying to achieve Bob, you're on your own!

Still as humble as ever:

Those Stretch Goals sound more like a dream list, and completely unrealistic.

$75,000 I will develop a C++ backport (or possibly a Unity3D version) of Java RPG Client and Puzzle Game, possible to port to iOS, PS Vita, 3DS, WiiU, XBOne, PS4, etc. I will attempt to get my game published on these systems- but it's up to them, not me!

Red Flags all over. Good luck.

The 'bob's game' puzzle game inside the "bob's game" RPG is a puzzle game in which you can build your own puzzle games, including all existing types! It is the greatest puzzle game ever made, and the only puzzle game objectively better than Tetris.
$300 and counting, guys.

Dang. I thought this thing was for sure canned YEARS ago. What ever happened to the nD?

bobsgame.com has the full story but he made a huge framework and had a prototype of a modded GP32 Wiz with linux framework and had a talk with the devs of the dingoo that came up with a $25 price point and talked with other devs but it failed.

I hope this gets funded just so I can see what a game made by a complete maniac is like.
He wouldn't be the only Indie developer who's acted crazy on the internet.

Edit: I hope he just drops the hopes of putting it on the DS. I'd rather this be on PC or Wii U or something accessible. There are plenty of ways to get your game out there. He chose the wrong one back then.

Not nearly as extreme as this guy. Have you not read any of the quotes from his game's website?

<$10,000 I will give up on "bob's game," go back to Michigan, get a job at Best Buy, get my GED at night school, and go to community college. I will work my way up to a degree in computer science and get a job at a video game studio, where I may someday work on my dream game idea: "bob's game."

Almost pledged, but then I saw that as the less than $10 000 approach so no reason to pledge.

It is a hybrid between Zelda, Pokemon, Harvest Moon, and Earthbound, with massively multiplayer elements.

This reads like satire of a normal gaming kickstarter. He should've mentioned Dark Souls somewhere, just to make sure.

He never replied to my email asking for an interview for my small crappy site. Guess it was to small for him to project his persona around.

Someone really needs to do some investigative journalism to write a piece about the whole story about Bobs Game and make it written by a psychiatrist.

I kind of want to see this game exist, but the demos were not that exciting, though that Tetris clone was genius. But I wont back the project. I think at this point in time it could of easily been released on the PC 100x times over.

Oh. I've followed Bob since he first started hyping this game years ago. I am completely familiar with "Bob". The original thread was amazing back then.

Doesn't mean the other devs who do crazy shit are any less important.

There's saying PCs are for spreadsheets and telling people to choke on it, then theres...

Tamed humans- people with total self control- have immense psychic power, the power of telepathic mind control. This is what will power is. You cannot detect it. You don't realize that they are in your subconscious. You are surrounded with temptations, distractions, and comforts- mind control devices to keep you blind, to keep you weak, to keep you untamed, wild, and powerless until it is too late. To make you into a criminal slave.

This is closer to the level of that Kickstarter where the woman running it thought the sun god was trying to kill her.

Will it still have stole... I mean edited DBZ gba game sprites?

Also the funds should send him to a mental hospital if anything.

Ugh. I shouldn't have looked at the kickstarter page, I now remember just how deluded he was(is?).

The forerunner and "founder" of the indie games movement. Because he was secretly making every indie game before 2008 (cave story being the most obvious choice, launching in 2004).

I can only hope he doesn't reach his goal and makes his move on the other promise to make something of his life...

So how long until he manufactures another boogeyman that stops him from working on the game? Will Kickstarter be the next boogeyman with their prohibitive fees and red tape and such?

Haha! I remember the insane 100 day livestream he did, where he eventually ended up laying under a matress in the corner for like a day straight and the internet wondering if they should call the police.

What a complete nutjob.

Didn't expect to see bob show up again, but now that he has I'm ready for the rollercoaster this kickstarter is certain to be.

He did teach developers some important lessons.

1. Don't be a nutcase.
2. Stay relevant.
3. Make friends not enemies.

That's so weird. I just booted up the DS demo last night of bob's game. I thought to myself, "I wonder what happened to that guy?"

I forgot I downloaded that once and never played it. Funny to still see him trucking along with...something.

This dude is still kicking around? I remember his big campaign to get the game on DS.

I also remember the hombrew "demo" he released. jeez, that was awhile ago.
